New Footage from Destiny

By DeathscytheX, in Games,

Check out the video posted by Bungie today. The Thank You video to the fans that supported them at Gamescom has some never before seen footage of the game. Pay close attention and you might see a few seconds of what is presumably Mars.

Once again, Bungie asserts its closer relationship to Sony, "Best Game on Sony Playstation 4" Award? They're really laying it on thick, and MS has to swallow it.

It looks like it will be a fun game, but the quality of the graphics and effects as shown in this campaign trailer are nothing compared to what Battlefield 4 is doing. This trailer looks like its running on an Xbox 360 and not an Xbox One or PS4.
And did you see the dog vs. helicopter moment? lol.. I took a screenshot because it looked great.

The Playstation 4 might be a better deal than we all thought if it ends up fully supporting Sony's newly announced Video Unlimited 4K service. Sony announced a standalone 4K media player today that will be retailing for $699.99. Keep in mind that Sony has previously announced that the PS4 will not play games in 4K, but it will play 4K movies and series. With this feature, it could be possible for the Video Unlimited 4K service to run on the PS4, possibly as early as sometime next year. Sony has Video Unlimited on the PS3, so it would only make sense for them to continue the service on their new console.
If this reminds you of something, think back to when the PS3 came out. It was actually cheaper than, or the same price as many blu-ray players. Considering the PS4 will be retailing for $399.99, it could easily be the cheapest 4K player with downloadable access on the market if Sony allows it to run their 4K service. The biggest difference between the PS4 and Sony's $699 media player is storage. The PS4 will have a 500GB hard drive, while the media player is 2TB. However, the PS4's hard drive is upgradeable and the console will support external storage. The media player also comes with ten 4K movies preloaded onto it's hard drive. Each 4K movie will retail for about $30 a piece, thus driving up the cost of the player.
Of course the required 4K Ultra HD TV is still too expensive of an upgrade for many people. With Sony's cheapest 4K TV starting at $3,499.99, the cost of the PS4 and media player are like loose change. I thought I'd share this information anyway because it looks like Sony will be leading the way with 4K and the PS4 might be their best chance at getting their 4K movie service into the mainstream.
Sony has not announced if Video Unlimited 4K will be made available on the PS4, but it looks like a strong possibility. Until then, their 4K service will only be accessible on their new media player.

I've been getting ready for spring for the last couple months and its taken up a crazy amount of my free time. We expanded our garden to be really huge last september in preparation for growing fruit and veggies. Then we decided to expand it another 6 more feet in one direction which we finally got finished last weekend. It was alot of work because our garden has an almost 6 foot tall deer fence all around it. We hammered in u-posts into the ground and attached the deer net and buried the bottom of the net so nothing will burrow under it. I should do measurements at some point to figure out its total volume. Its huge. lol.
We have 3 apple trees, 3 cherry trees, and 1 nectarine tree in there. We still have to move 3 of those trees into their permanent locations (they are only 1 or 2 year old trees so its still possible to dig them up) and we have to plant a new apricot tree in there. I prepped the two rows for veggies last month but theres alot of weed whacking to do still and plants to move. We have 4 grape vines, 4 blueberry bushes and multiple raspberry plants to move. I started a bunch of veggies from seed and those tomatoes are still in an unused bath tub in my house with a light over them getting bigger every day. I'm looking forward to getting everything planted and done so all this gardening can give me a break.

Well my dryer broke after about 15 years and multiple repairs I've done over those years. I had to buy a new dryer. So far so good. I was finally able to get my laundry done again and my bathroom no longer smells like dirty socks and febreeze.

FML my pressure tank is failing for my well. Its getting replaced next week. Getting a new whole house water filter installed too along with some new valves and safety upgrades. Props to the well company employee for giving me the tip of hooking up an air compressor to the pressure tank to put some air in the bladder to get the system gimping along until the repair work is done. I miss public water. lol.

This has been a busy summer. I'm almost looking forward to winter so I can get a break from all the lawn mowing and outside projects. Hopefully the snow blower I bought this year works good so I'll have alot of free time this winter to get caught up on things. When I've had free time I've been playing Final Fantasy X over the last 5 months and I've somehow finally hit 100 hours on it. Lol. Only took me about half a year.  I still didn't beat it yet but I'm at the end game stuff now with the monster arena and omega ruins.
