Star Citizen - The PC Game Funded by Fans
I haven't paid much attention to Star Citizen, but with the constant updates I've seen about huge sums of money, I had to look into this. Star Citizen is the project of Chris Roberts, the creator of Wing Commander. He wanted to make the best space game ever, completely funded by his fans, and he is going to accomplish it. After starting his crowd funding campaign on his own website and kickstarter last year, they have now reached over $32,000,000. Yes.. over $32 Million.
As the large sums of money keep pouring in, there are new funding goals added for every million dollar mark.

Xbox One - Free Dedicated Servers for all games
Microsoft's network of servers will be available for free for all game developers.
"One of the benefits of publishing games on Xbox One," Microsoft director of Xbox product planning Albert Penello wrote yesterday on the NeoGAF gaming message board, "ALL game developers get Dedicated Servers, Cloud Processing, and 'storage' (for save games) free."
Good. For the price of xbox live, dedicated servers should be a standard for all games that require them.
The potential impact of cloud computing and dedicated servers on Xbox One games became more clear when the creators of the EA-backed, Respawn-developed Titanfall began talking in June about the benefits they were getting from Microsoft's tech:
"That’s a 7 on 7 game but it felt huge because there’s [extra] AI [soldiers] in there that brings the world to life," Respawn boss Vince Zampella says, referring to the Titanfall bout I'd just seen.
The AI for the grunts is designed to run off of Microsoft's cloud servers, a service that the Xbox One maker is offering to all game creators on the new console. ...
With Zampella there, I sense I can get some answers on whether this cloud stuff is really just hype. I mention I'd seen plenty of games that don't use the cloud rendering tons of characters on screen, though maybe not in multiplayer. "It’s better to do it on the cloud," Zampella said. "It’s more secure. It’s a better experience. It also lets us focus on the experience we’re giving to you, the rendering experience, all that power. The more we can offload the better, because then we can do more locally on your box." In other words, if they calculate the grunt AI remotely, the Xbox One can spend more processing on graphics.
It's not just that.
The cloud servers, Zampalla said, are "dedicated servers so there’s no host advantage. The game spins up fast." No host system has to be bogged down with that grunt AI. "When that’s handled on the cloud, now it’s the same experience, it’s not lagging for you. If I’m the host, and I’m calculating AI on my box or if we’re both calculating AI on our boxes and we have different things..." That wouldn't be good. The cloud helps. To Titanfall's busy multiplayer design, perhaps it's essential.

PS4 Digital Games Are Tied To Your Account, Playable On Any Playstation 4
The Playstation 4 will be noticeably different in how digital games are handled compared to the current PS3:
Speaking at Develop, Neil Brown, Sony’s R&D senior team leader, outlined the process that lets you access your games on other machines at other people’s houses:
“You can visit your friends house you can log into your account and play any game from your digital library, which is good. But how useful is that if it takes half a day to download the game you want to play? With Play As You Download you get much quicker access to at least the first section of the game so you can start playing quicker. So this makes a digital library a practical option in the real world.”

All Xbox One Games Might Require A Constant Internet Connection
The Xbox One could very well be more powerful than the Playstation 4 thanks to cloud computing. Official Xbox Magazine is reporting that for every Xbox One sold by Microsoft, there will be the equivalent of three additional console's CPU and storage available to each system by means of a constant internet connection to MS's cloud servers.
Of course this means if a game developer wants to take advantage of the Xbox One's powerful cloud servers, a constant internet connection will be required. This would mean that any or even all games made for the system could possibly require a constant internet connection.

Walmart Video Game Trade-In Rates Blow Away Gamestop
Walmart has started directly competing with Gamestop. You can now trade in your old games on Walmart's website or in store. They are paying much higher rates than Gamestop too. Newer games are getting trade in values around $35 each. Don't expect Walmart to give you handfuls of money though, you can only get Walmart gift cards for your trade ins.

I've been getting ready for spring for the last couple months and its taken up a crazy amount of my free time. We expanded our garden to be really huge last september in preparation for growing fruit and veggies. Then we decided to expand it another 6 more feet in one direction which we finally got finished last weekend. It was alot of work because our garden has an almost 6 foot tall deer fence all around it. We hammered in u-posts into the ground and attached the deer net and buried the bottom of the net so nothing will burrow under it. I should do measurements at some point to figure out its total volume. Its huge. lol.· 0 replies
We have 3 apple trees, 3 cherry trees, and 1 nectarine tree in there. We still have to move 3 of those trees into their permanent locations (they are only 1 or 2 year old trees so its still possible to dig them up) and we have to plant a new apricot tree in there. I prepped the two rows for veggies last month but theres alot of weed whacking to do still and plants to move. We have 4 grape vines, 4 blueberry bushes and multiple raspberry plants to move. I started a bunch of veggies from seed and those tomatoes are still in an unused bath tub in my house with a light over them getting bigger every day. I'm looking forward to getting everything planted and done so all this gardening can give me a break.

Well my dryer broke after about 15 years and multiple repairs I've done over those years. I had to buy a new dryer. So far so good. I was finally able to get my laundry done again and my bathroom no longer smells like dirty socks and febreeze.· 3 replies

FML my pressure tank is failing for my well. Its getting replaced next week. Getting a new whole house water filter installed too along with some new valves and safety upgrades. Props to the well company employee for giving me the tip of hooking up an air compressor to the pressure tank to put some air in the bladder to get the system gimping along until the repair work is done. This has been a busy summer. I'm almost looking forward to winter so I can get a break from all the lawn mowing and outside projects. Hopefully the snow blower I bought this year works good so I'll have alot of free time this winter to get caught up on things. When I've had free time I've been playing Final Fantasy X over the last 5 months and I've somehow finally hit 100 hours on it. Lol. Only took me about half a year. I still didn't beat it yet but I'm at the end game stuff now with the monster arena and omega ruins.· 0 replies

Thanks! The color is "Blueprint". But depending on the light outside it looks either dark blue or purple.
