  1. https://blog.playstation.com/2022/03/29/all-new-playstation-plus-launches-in-june-with-700-games-and-more-value-than-ever/ PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now are merging into the new PlayStation Plus and the membership will now become a tiered system: I'll be sticking with PlayStation Plus Essential assuming I can still buy yearly memberships on sale for around $30-$40 like I've been doing since before the PS4 launched. I'm barely getting any use out of PS+ as it is with the games they've been offering for the last year so if I have to start paying a monthly fee I'll just cancel it instead. In comparison to the PS+ Extra, I've recently used Xbox PC game pass which I got a 3 month trial for $1 on black friday weekend last year. I don't have an Xbox so I was only using the lowest tier of the PC version which I suppose is the Microsoft Xbox PC version of PlayStation Plus Extra. It is an ok service but with the amount of time I have to dedicate to gaming I was only able to play and beat 2 games in those 3 months. I'm glad the xbox pc game pass came with EA Access since I was able to play and beat Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. EA Access itself didn't appeal to me because on the PC game pass its basically 70% sports titles. I was also able to play and beat Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and that game wasn't nearly as good as the first. Both games retail for around $14 and $7 when on sale so I saved roughly $20 with my $1 free trial. But if it was to pay $10 a month for the service I would have been in the hole $9 compared to if I bought those 2 games instead. For me and my available time to play games a subscription service is not a savings to me. Theres alot of people that could benefit from a game subscription service and I'm glad its an option for them. I will say tho, for people that have an Xbox console and a game subscription service is beneficial to them, the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate has console and pc game pass combined along with xbox games with gold free monthly games, and that is a far better deal that PlayStation Plus Deluxe for the same price of $14.99 a month. The Xbox Game Pass Ultimate also includes console and pc games that can be played from the cloud too kind of like Nvidia's GeForce Now streaming.
  2. There are currently 9 free PS4 games available to add to your PSN account. Only available from March 25 8pm PDT to April 22 8pm PDT. No playstation plus required. Just log into PSN and add to your library: https://store.playstation.com/en-us/category/9779f12f-50c8-4c07-8d20-47e21293b6c6 Ratchet & Clank is also still available for free until March 31 08:00PM PDT. Same as above, login to PSN and add to your library: https://www.playstation.com/en-us/games/ratchet-and-clank/ Horizon Zero Dawn complete edition will be free from April 19 until May 14: https://www.playstation.com/en-us/play-at-home/
  3. https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/days-of-play/cid=STORE-MSF77008-DAYSOFPLAY17LP Uncharted 4 is $20. I just bought it. I might have to put Mass Effect on the back burner.
  4. The new PlayStation 4 firmware update will include external HHD support for game installation. Finally. I honestly didn't realize the original PS4s even had USB 3. They are also finally adding custom wallpapers via screenshots. About damn time. The wallpapers in the online store are complete garbage. I'd still prefer to use my own .jpg files like on the PS3, but modders used that feature as a way to hack the system which is why we never got the functionality in PS4. Using a screenshot is completely fine with me. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2017/02/03/ps4-system-software-update-4-50-features-detailed/
  5. For only $150 the Hori’s Tactical Assault Commander (TAC) Pro will give everyone on ps4 a huge advantage with mouse and keyboard controls. According to the box art of the product it is officially licensed by Sony and it's being sold at Gamestop and amazon. But if this is actually officially licensed then why doesn't Sony just allow keyboard and mouse input directly to the console so people don't have to pay $150? http://kotaku.com/hori-tactical-assault-commander-pro-review-a-modest-mo-1788600202
  6. Sony officially announced the "PlayStation 4 Pro" today: No longer called the PlayStation Neo, the PS4 Pro will give us 4k gaming and HDR. I don't have a 4K tv so I'm in no rush to get one of these myself. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/09/07/playstation-meeting-2016-introducing-ps4-pro-and-the-slimmer-lighter-ps4/
  7. https://www.humblebundle.com/capcom-playstation-bundle Its nice to see Sony finally getting in on these bundles, but I'm a bit disappointed that the majority of the games are for PS3. The original Resident Evil remaster for PS4 does seem tempting for me to buy this, but with it being roughly $15 I'm wondering if its worth it for just the few games I'll actually play.
  8. DX mentioned this to me earlier today. In one month the price will increase for PS+ by $10 per year. Not a huge increase, but it'll now be $59.99 starting September 22 2016: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/07/27/playstation-plus-free-games-for-august-2016/ On a side note, I ordered a year's subscription from this site for $37.99 on sale: http://www.saugagamers.com/product/playstation-plus-12-month-subscription-card-digital-delivery $42.99 - $5.00 using promo code THANKYOU. I found the deal on slickdeals: http://slickdeals.net/f/8965647-playstation-plus-12-months-37-99-digital-delivery I haven't gotten my code emailed to me yet, but the company updated their front page a few hours ago saying it could take a couple days for them to send out the codes because they're getting so many orders in. With the price increase I doubt it'll get much cheaper than this since even last black friday it was only on sale for $39.99.
  9. https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/flash-sale/cid=STORE-MSF77008-FLASHSALEWEBLP This is decent sale. A bunch of games for $5 or less. I just bought Killzone Shadow Fall for $5 so I can play the campaign.
  10. PlayStation Home in Japan and Asia will end March 2015. I wonder how long they'll keep the service operational in Europe and America. I only used PlayStation Home once, but I kind of like the Xbox and Wii U avatar system better. http://www.vg247.com/2014/08/23/playstation-home-closed-japan/

    Playstation Now

Playstation Now, formally known as just Sony's Gaikai technology, will be going into a closed beta in the US starting at the end of January 2014. This could be the beginning of the end for consoles. I don't think consoles will be obsolete in the next decade, but if game streaming eventually becomes the new standard, we will no longer need to purchase consoles or high end PCS. If a game can be streamed we will only need a device on our end to interact with and display the game. With a smart tv and a gamepad, we won't have to worry about buying a new video card or dropping $500+ on new hardware because the games will be completely run on company servers. Playstation Now will also support multiplayer, trophies and playstation network messaging. We discussed before about Playstation becoming a service, see (Is PlayStation Going to Compete with Steam?). Competing with Steam does not appear to be the case however. Steam allows people to buy licenses of games, download and play them. The Playstation Now service has mentioned nothing at all about purchasing games. As it is now, it will be a game renting or subscription only service. This could be a very big game changer. If Sony charges a flat rate fee like netflix, then gamers around the world might jump right on the offer. Imagine paying $7.99 a month for a massive game library on demand. No downloading and installing.. just pick a title from a netflix style menu and start playing a game. Source: Polygon

  17. I saw this game on Kotaku and it peaked my interest because it's puzzle platforming reminds me a little bit of limbo. The story is interesting so far and the gameplay is unique... the game it self has its bugs, but I can't complain since it was free via PS+. I love the 20s era theme. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qOpaJkh4jY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nP_WaE2Lxpw
  18. http://www.gamesradar.com/sony-updates-ps4s-terms-service-remove-your-privacy-jk-you-never-had-any-begin/ This doesn't really surprise me.. I assumed they'd have full access to all the info stored on their servers. Just like Facebook and every other site. As long as they don't sell my information then I'm content with them knowing what games I play.

  24. . It will be interesting to see how they go about doing this. I assume you will be able to keep your PS3 version making this a better deal than gamestops. The question is are they going to put a coupon in the game case, and will gamestop stoop to opening each case and removing the coupons as they have done in the past to benefit their own program. Oh, and console digital downloads FTW. I'll never leave the house to buy a game again. Example http://gamerant.com/gamestop-onlive-deus-human-revolution-coupons-case-101351/
  25. Sony announced at the end of their Gamescom press conference that PS4 will be available in the US November 15th! Also worth noting, If you purchase Battlefield 4, Assassin's Creed IV, Call of Duty: Ghosts, or Watch Dogs on Playstation 3, you will be able to buy the Playstation 4 digital version for a "significantly discounted price" once it becomes available. EA, Activision, Ubisoft, and WB have partnered up with Sony in this deal most likely to combat Gamestop's plan to offer a similar deal where you can trade in those said games and upgrade to the next gen version for $10.
