Strider Hiryu reacted to Sledgstone in PS4 Digital Games Are Tied To Your Account, Playable On Any Playstation 4
I think the only problem with PS4's DRM in terms of physical game discs will be DLC. If I buy a physical copy of BF4, play the hell out of it with my username, decide to play as a different username on my PS4, I'll be screwed when it comes to DLCs.. If I buy DLC on one account, then it would be a digital game purchase.. if that purchase is only accessible to the account it was purchased on, then even tho I can play the physcial game on any of my accounts, the DLC will be locked to only the account it was purchased on. Whereas on PS3, I have BF3 & all DLCs and I can play all the DLC maps on any account on my console. PS4 looks like it will be more restrictive. I just hope that with this Steam style approach, they'll have steam style sales. If I'd have to buy multiple copies of the same DLC for different accounts, that could be huge money, but if they have steam style sales, 75% off dlc could rake them in some money if people are willing to buy multiple copies of DLC for multiple accounts.
I think that was mostly because they were going to DRM all physical game discs and the 24 hour check in was to make sure they still owned the game. MS would have been better off saying all games are unsellable. It would have negated the 24 hour check in. When I bought my physical copy of StarCraft 2 for PC, the game is full DRM. I still have the disc but theres no way I could ever resell the game. I think that was what MS wanted to do, but too many kids play consoles. They don't have loads of money and being able to resell a game is too much of an incentive for the younger audience. I like how Sony is doing it. Physical games are just that, while digital will be DRM.

Strider Hiryu got a reaction from Sledgstone in Childhood, remixed
Hey man that fro and beard combination was freaking creepy. I still liked watching him paint but I was creeped out while doing so.

Ran across these, and so many good memories. Thought I'd share for those that grew up with these shows.

Strider Hiryu got a reaction from DeathscytheX in Sony Deals a Knock Out Blow to Xbox One at E3.
GG if you think this is bad go play games on the computer, when your upgrading components almost every year or so to play the newest game. Console gaming is a lot cheaper and these are the first new consoles in 7 years (no slims do not counts, same thing just smaller). It's not like the the previous generations, where every 4 years or so you were forking up money for the new consoles.
I used to complain about no BC but now I'm with DX. Keep your old consoles, it's not that hard to do. I still own my PS2 and my original Xbox (since 360 BC was a joke, a handful of games that didn't even play correctly) to play my old games. Trading in consoles just isn't worth it and getting rid of them the minute they're obsolete is retarded.
And yes DX Netflix still does that on the 360. The minute your internet speed dips it needs to be buffered yet again and half the time the audio doesn't even line up correctly after that happens (gets very annoying).

Strider Hiryu got a reaction from Sledgstone in EA Secures Exclusive Rights to Make Star Wars Games
I know Blizzard will keep your characters indefinitely if you quit playing (I quit for a year (as in paying) and my characters were still there. I've quit for good 3 years ago so I don't know if they're still there or not). As for TOR I'm not a 100% sure but from what a friend of mine has told me his was still there after he quit playing for 5 months and recently started playing again (I've never actually quit paying even though I can rarely play it anymore due to my stupid internet (damn ISP)). I highly doubt they would toss them out though since it's now F2P and after the initial 700,000 subscribers quit playing the servers are finally starting to get full again (they went from like 20+ servers US side to 8 about 5-6 months ago due to the massive exodus and no characters were lost during the transition that I know of, I know my server is packed at peak times (thank god I'm a subscriber, I don't have to wait in queues like the masses of free players do)). Then again they might eventually to help clear out server clutter.

Strider Hiryu got a reaction from DeathscytheX in Call of Duty: Ghosts Reveal Trailer
But that's what made WaW MP so much more fun. Nothing's better then running out of a house and running smack dab into a tank barrel Gah I miss WaW, so much fun
I'm honestly quite interested in Ghosts now after today. The campaign actually sounds like it'll be a blast.

Strider Hiryu reacted to Kite in Almost Human
Looks very good and high production for a tv series
Judge Dredd meets iRobot
Karl Urban + JJ Abrams = awesome
cant wait
The show will be predictable, solve murders each week, while the robot teaches the human what it means to be alive
and how the human grows to trust the robot
but this is one ill be following
Also i am glad when film stars do TV shows as the quality is usually higher (24)
but the worry is they don't like to be tied up for too long due to a film deal that pays way more for a lot less time

Strider Hiryu got a reaction from Sledgstone in Fuse
Honestly do graphics really mean that much? I've played the demo and the graphics looked fine to me. Then again I don't place much stock in graphics, gameplay and story is all that matters to me.
I played the demo by myself last night and actually enjoyed it. Nothing really special about the game outside of the fuse abilities guns have (the asian looking chicks gun is pretty fun, put enough rounds into an enemy and it creates a blackhole. Tag a bunch of enemies with it and you'll start a blackhole chain reaction, tis quite amusing), which make things rather interesting. It's basically your typical third person shooter with cover based tactics. I can only assume it's a lot more fun with more people because the AI for your companions is pretty lackluster.

Nice. Odd that it isn't a stock feature, you'd think something like this would of been core feature.

Strider Hiryu got a reaction from Sledgstone in Destiny
Considering the fact that consoles will not be backward compatible in the next gen I'm pretty sure both companies won't stop supporting the current gen systems for quite awhile (especially considering the fact that the new Xbox is going to require a constant internet connection (or so has been reported). A lot of people don't like the idea of that (nor do I, with my crappy internet connection)). Plus as DX pointed out the original Xbox Live was shut down in 2010 due to lack of subscriptions. Plus most people won't update to the new system right away so they'd lose money if they stopped supporting the old systems right away (I, for one, will not be upgrading right away. I just bought my current 360 two years ago and I'm still paying off my laptop, no money for a new system. Plus I usually wait a year to make sure there's no major hardware or software problems with the new system (remember the 360 debacles)).
Back on the actual subject I've been awaiting this announcement since Bungie left MS for Activision (and turned over the keys to Halo, an idea I still don't agree with or like. Don't get me wrong Halo 4 is fun but I don't like the direction 343 is taking franchise). Bungie has a lot of great talent on their team so I can't wait to see what the final product looks like and if they can really support their ideas for this game (the server thing has me wondering since, as DX pointed out, Activision doesn't like to run its own servers).

Strider Hiryu got a reaction from Sledgstone in Aliens: Colonial Marines arrives next month.
http://www.gamespot.com/news/did-aliens-colonial-marines-suffer-because-of-borderlands-6403830
Whether there is a whole lot of truth in whats said in that article is question but it looks like Gearbox outsourced the majority of the game while they focused on their own title. Sad if you ask me, especially considering how long ago A:CM was announced to how long the turn-a-round on BL2 was. I wouldn't be surprised if Sega takes legal action against Gearbox if this all turns out to be true (I had no interest in this game but I thought you'd all find the above article interesting as you all seem to have been interested in the game).

Strider Hiryu got a reaction from DeathscytheX in Ghost in the Shell: Arise
It's a set of 4 movies/OVA's (not an actual series persay, http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-02-12/ghost-in-the-shell/arise-anime-details-outlined)
I'm actually looking forward to it (about the only real thing I've been looking forward to in the anime world recently) since it's been dead on the GitS front since Solid State Society and a prequel will be nice considering everything about Motoko that we know comes from after she joined Section 9. Since it's Production I.G. I'm pretty sure it'll be good (unless they go the same route they did with Blood-C, which was disappointing when you compare it to the Blood movie and Blood+).

X'D I honestly do not no what to think of this movie. It was hilarious but at the same time so very wrong. I'm with Sledge though, everyone should at least see it once.

Strider Hiryu got a reaction from Ladywriter in Continuum
I only found out about it being a Canadian show when I went to download it the other day on eztv. Saw the whole first season and was like "WTH it just started airing". So I went on over to wikipedia and found out the info. I just hope this doesn't end up like Sanctuary and getting cancelled after 4 seasons.
I was beyond pissed when I heard Sanctuary was cancelled. The show had so much more potential to just up and end it like that (but that's a topic for another time).

Just go download it Sledge, the whole first season is up on torrent sites. Like Sanctuary this is another Canadian show that SyFy picked up after the fact (I think this is why it got it's second season). I plan on dling it so as not to wait for each episode every week because the previews caught my interest.

Strider Hiryu reacted to DeathscytheX in That gun debate thing
A gun ban is just a "big government" agenda. We can talk about assault rifles all day but if you go to the FBI's website and look at the numbers, more people are killed by knifes, hammers, and even hands and feet. These individual categories out number ALL rifles put into its own category.
Another interesting note is that from 2008-2011 the number of homicides have gone down. The US ranks 28th in the world in gun violence per capita. What Piers Morgan won't tell you is that in the UK violent crime is 5 times higher per capita than in the US.
Timothy McVeigh single handedly killed more Americans in one event and didn't use a single firearm. You can still buy fertilizer to this day.
People are quick to act on emotion while throwing any kind of logic out of the window... That's why we have the patriot act, that's why the gov can tap your cell with no warrant, and that's why they are trying to restrict guns now. Any freedom we are willing to give up, Uncle Sam will be happy to take it away from you weather it's Democrat or Republican.
