  2. Here is your sizzle reel from Sony a few weeks before launch. I think its interesting that PS4's exclusive content is actually timed exclusive for 6 months on blockbuster titles. I wonder if it will be released on X1 for free via patch, or will it be some $3 DLC. Click here to view the article

  4. This generation cycle has been the longest since the term "next gen" was coined as an industry lingo. For Sony, it may also result in the shortest previous gen support life cycle. According to top dog Shuhei Yoshida... 2 years? In an interview with gameindustry.biz, Yoshia said: Yoshida also pointed out that AAA developers were now shifting to PS4 mode, so naturally AAA titles released on PS3 will start to decline. Because of Developer frustration with the PS3's inner workings and its fumbling start, PS2 did keep recieving fresh content for years, and even outsold its bigger brother at times. With dev's raving about the PS4's programing abilities this time around, confidence in making new games for PS4 may kill off support for PS3 faster than its predecessors. 11. Sony to reveal PS4 Virtual Reality headset at TGS I hope this rumor turns out to be true since I already preordered a PS4. That & I won't have to worry about not getting The Elder Scrolls Online with Oculus Rift Support if the PS4 version also has Virtual Reality Support. This post has been promoted to an article

  14. Sony announced at the end of their Gamescom press conference that PS4 will be available in the US November 15th! Also worth noting, If you purchase Battlefield 4, Assassin's Creed IV, Call of Duty: Ghosts, or Watch Dogs on Playstation 3, you will be able to buy the Playstation 4 digital version for a "significantly discounted price" once it becomes available. EA, Activision, Ubisoft, and WB have partnered up with Sony in this deal most likely to combat Gamestop's plan to offer a similar deal where you can trade in those said games and upgrade to the next gen version for $10. Source: IGN http://www.ign.com/a...upgrade-program. It will be interesting to see how they go about doing this. I assume you will be able to keep your PS3 version making this a better deal than gamestops. The question is are they going to put a coupon in the game case, and will gamestop stoop to opening each case and removing the coupons as they have done in the past to benefit their own program. Oh, and console digital downloads FTW. I'll never leave the house to buy a game again. Example http://gamerant.com/...ns-case-101351/ Click here to view the article

  16. Sony's President Shuhei Yoshida went on twitter today and announced that you will not need a PS+ membership to be able to share and stream your gaming experiences. This comes in light of Microsoft stating yesterday that you will need an Xbox Live Gold account to use their gaming DVR. This is yet another blunder by MS after they decided to keep their 360 model which does not allow users to access Netflix without XBLG. The PS4 will still allow you to stream Netflix for free as it had on PS3. While you still need PS+ to stream and share your multiplayer gameplay, it still benefits those gamers that like to upload or search for walkthroughs for single player games, solo campaigns, and trophy guides. 18. The Playstation 4 will be noticeably different in how digital games are handled compared to the current PS3: .It appears that the PS4 will try to emulate Steam's success in digital game management by tying your digital games to your specific account. With the games tied to your account you will be able to access your digital games on any PS4 you log into. This is very different compared to how the PS3 handles digital games. Currently the PS3 will allow you to have up to two PS3 consoles active for your digital games. Which means if you own two PS3 consoles you can log into each of those consoles and download any of your digital game purchases. However, it is possible to log into any PS3 system and still access your digital games. By having 1 primary console for your account at your home, you can easily go to a friend's house, use their PS3, log into your PSN account and download your games and start playing. That system would then be considered the second active system for your digital game purchases. Of course, once you finish playing at your friend's house you must remember to not only log off, but also to deactivate your PSN account off their console (PlayStation Support). This is burdensome and many people do not know that they have to do that extra step. The PS4 simplifies this and allows you to log in to any PS4 to play your games. This is where the next major difference between the two systems take place. On a PS3 you can purchase a digital game, download it and all users on that console have access to that game. If the PS4 will have all digital games tied to a specific account, then all users on any console could very well be locked out from having access to playing these games. If all you have for your game systems is a single user account, then this is not an issue. But if you have a family with multiple user accounts for everyone in the house, then this could become a large issue if the only way to play a digital game is to be logged in as the account that owns it. Hopefully the PS4 will have a family sharing option that allows all users on a specific console to play games purchased, because if not, physical game discs will have another advantage over digital. 20. It looks like Sony needs to ramp up their PS4 production to keep up with demand seeing as GameStop.com has already sold out of the Playstation 4 consoles. Physical GameStop stores have their own supplies so pre-orders may still be available at locations near you. Of course this is just one retailer... Amazon, Bestbuy, Target, Walmart, etc. are all still selling pre-orders... but for how long? Click here to view the article

  23. . I loved inFAMOUS 1. You had tremendous power, but you were still highly vulnerable to gunfire making the game challenging despite the devastation you could impose on large masses of enemies. I never did get to play 2... but I will be picking this game up for sure.
  24. If the futuristic PS2-like design of the PS4 didn't tip you off, Sony is looking to return to its glory days after crashing and burning this generation. Although a subtle message displayed at the bottom of one of their promos indicated that a subscription was needed to play multiplayer games, Playstation fans can quickly get over that with the delightful jabs they took at rival Microsoft. Taking full advantage of last months firestorm over Microsoft's draconian stance on used games and online connectivity. Sony wasted no time setting things straight with the crowd at E3. PS4 will not need any online connectivity or 24 hour check-in requirement to play your games offline. On top of that, PS4 games will not be locked down on your console. You will be free to do as you please, whether that be sell them or lend them to a friend. Despite reports that PS+ would be ditched for PS World... it seems those stories were false... PS+ is here to stay, and current subscriber accounts will carry over to the PS4. The nail in the coffin came at the end.... the PS4, which supposedly has superior graphical output will have a price tag of $399.99... That is $100 less than the Xbox One.
