  1. Did my taxes today. Got my biggest return I ever had. I found that interesting since everyone was trying to say all the stimulus checks were going to make it smaller. I also worked OT a lot this past year during the pandemic... to the tune of $11,000 extra to my base pay. XD

I made 9 grand less then I did the year before and got $1000 less on my tax return, worst I've gotten since I was in college (where I was paying in). Fucking tax code is all sorts of fucked for that to hold true (and before you ask no my unemployment didn't fuck me over (2 checks worth isn't enough to screw it that much nor did the stimulus checks since I'm still in the same tax bracket as last year).

The tax code is def a mess. I got my smallest return 2 years ago when I paid off my student loan and couldn't claim the interest anymore. This pasty year I made 9k more, because I probably worked 6 days a week for more than 35% of the year. I get overtime every week, but I was getting way more this year. So much that If I didn't work any extra OT this year (which won't happen) I would make the same amount in a higher position. My return was $444 larger than last year. I was definitely expecting to get a lot less.

Eh, all in all it's a good thing that I'm getting less money back (I mean the goal is to get no money back) still stings though after a fucking year of hardships. Kinda wanted a win for once. I'm really going to miss the days of not getting that student loan interest money back, I've got three more loans to pay off and I get to kiss that goodbye (not that it amounts to much, maybe $100 - $150).

As much as I hated working it I really miss overtime (I might need to see a doctor because I never thought those words would come out of my mouth) and the checks that came with it. This part time shit sucks ass.
