The two best anime this season so far are Goblin Slayer and SSSS.Gridman. Goblin Slayer caused a huge uproar over its first ep.. which honestly is stupid. Plenty of acclaimed anime have had an uncomfortable rape scene. A heavily censored scene that took up all of 10 seconds of the episode. However, whether intended or not, it got everyone talking about it. After that, it resumed as a normal but violent anime. It also wasn't random, it established the goblin's as pure evil. SSSS.Gridman is your standard over the top Trigger mecha anime... but it starts out off the rails. I don't see how they can get much more bat shit crazy. That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime, Zombie Land SAGA, and Double Decker: Doug and Kirill have all been fun and quirky though. Overall I'm enjoying this season even if I'm skipping on a few of the shows.

Gridman is a joy, I adore everything about it and it's been a hell of a ride so far (not sure where Simuldub is but damn did we get a huge cliffhanger at the end of ep 10). Goblin Slayer is ok, I like it and I like it's dark tone but it's kinda just dragging now for me (then again I am 10 episodes in). The rape scene wasn't all that bad (and by what I've been told it's a hell of a lot more graphic in the manga) so I don't know why it got all that coverage. Yea it happened, yea it was dark, and yea it was cringy but honestly it wasn't that bad.
Honestly my top three for this season are That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (I'm enjoying the show way to much, every episode has be a joy to watch), Zombieland Saga (another joy of a show. I hate idol based stuff but this show is just to fucking perfect), and Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai (I adore this how only because of Sakuta, his deadpan humor and approach to life is just hilarious. As a whole though the show has an interesting premise and the story is pretty damn good).
Another good show (but sadly not a simuldub) is Skull-face Bookseller Honda-san. Its such a charming show that I'm sure you'd get a kick out of since you work retail. I'm honestly surprised by the amount of good shows this season. It's kind of nice to actually look forward to watching a new episode every week instead of just binging old shows I haven't watched yet on Crunchy/Funi (like Shikabane Hime (which I finished last week) and KonoSuba (finished S1, will start S2 on Sunday)).

I wanna watch Rascal, but I'll wait for the dub. Zombieland is adorable. I love the comedy. Although the CG dance sequences really throw me off because all of their faces turn so plasticy when they do it. I just love the cheesey power rangery/Ultraman-ness of Gridman. Its a lot of fun, and the animation is stellar.

Yea the CG in a Zombieland could of been done a lot better, it's really off putting when you're watching and they switch to it.
Gridman is pure awesome (and how CG should be done right). I love how they make all the nods to old school shows like Ultraman with the way the frame shots and how the monsters all look like they have someone inside them. I'm going to be extremely sad when it ends in two weeks (if it doesn't get put on hold for the holidays like Goblin Slayer did, god damn recap ep this week).
