So I preordered the standard edition of Destiny 2. I'll let you know if downloading the Beta is worth it since I'll get early access. I have a feeling there might not be any open world like D1. They haven't shown any at all if you think about it. They'll probably just be a strike, the first mission, and PvP. I hope I'm wrong, because I'd rather just run around a map and test out weapons more than anything else.

I look forward to reading your impressions on it. I'm guessing the beta will have that strike with the mountain grinding thing I've seen in every Destiny 2 video. It'll become that strike everyone gets in the rotation at least twice a day.

The beta trailer states all they have is the opening story missions, one strike, and limited pvp. I'll download it either way because I need to see for myself if this game is worth $60 (and worth buying) or if its just Destiny 1.5: The search for more money from our gullible player base.
One of my co-workers will be in the early access part of beta as well so I'm sure I'll hear about everything from him but I do look forward to your impressions, I just hope this game is worth the money you and my co-worker are already throwing at it.

Its probably not. It's really the best of the worst this lackluster holiday season. I don't see how we'd be able to tell any difference when there is no open world. They've basically cut out anything that could be new besides the new PvP format. A strike and a mission doesn't show much, even if the Strike is amazing.
But I can see why there isn't any open world at the same time. I'm sure after the first mission you lose your light and have to spend a few hours without it, getting back to the traveler shard. They'd ether have to recode the section after the first mission or put us in a later planet. Disappointing still.
