My older brother doesn't have a PS4 yet and with Destiny no longer needing beta codes, I decided to try it on PS3.. It uses my characters, controller settings, etc. from when I was playing on PS4. Its like I logged into a lower graphics version of the same game. It honestly looks great on PS3, but the PS4 is so much more polished.

Yep. The account is cross platform but unfortunately not for playing. I can either log in to my ps3 and play with my brother or log into my ps4 and pay with strider. Even though the game is very similar between systems it still won't let us cross play. My brother needs to buy a ps4 because I have no intention of buying this game for 2 systems.

Yep. I logged into both systems while my brother was playing Destiny on his PS3 and while Strider was playing on his PS4. I could only play with someone on the same system. No cross playing that I saw.
Turns out they could cross platform it between sony and xbox systems respectively but to keep people from complaining that the newer gen systems have an advantage...
