Sleepy Hollow (TV show)

Ichabod Crane wakes up from the throes of death 250 years in the future to find the world on the brink of destruction and learn he is humanity’s only hope. From co-creators/executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (the “Star Trek” and “Transformers” franchises, “Fringe”) comes the adventure thriller SLEEPY HOLLOW. In this modern-day retelling of Washington Irving’s classic, ICHABOD CRANE (Tom Mison, “Salmon Fishing in the Yemen”) is resurrected and pulled two and a half centuries through time to find that the world is on the brink of destruction and that he is humanity’s last hope, forcing him to team up with a contemporary police officer (Nicole Beharie, “Shame,” “American Violet”) to unravel a mystery that dates back to the founding fathers.

i was going to skip this, but that trailer looks great

I wonder is the horseman will be the series bad or will it be monster of the week routine a bit like grimm / supernatural

So total gut punch this week. The company I've worked for for almost 17 years of my life is closing the store I work at after filing bankruptcy. The lease is up on our building, and despite being probably the 4th best grossing store in the district, we're all out of a job by next month. And they couldn't have done a shittier job of letting anyone know. They just stopped shipping our dry grocery and perishable orders 2 days before they told us, and blamed it on "transmission errors".

But Luckily I have some solid connections and already lined up a job at Publix, which I feel is the future and should have jumped ship a few years ago. I was too complacent with my tenure and vacation time. But I'm only losing around $1.48 an hour just to throw stock full time and not be a manager. That's how much better they pay. Hopefully I'll be working different hours to where I can play games with everyone again. But for now its peace of mind since I just bought a new car.

Finally got around to seeing Thor: Ragnarok (just finished in fact). Gotta say it was a really good movie, really enjoyed where they went with it and thought it was a downright blast.
Good amount of comedy (I thought it was a nice direction considering what we'll be getting in a little over a month), nice action sequences, and seeing Thor get the snot kicked out of him by Hulk was pretty damn funny. Was also nice to see Thor actually use his damn powers for once (the bridge fight was pretty fucking epic). If I didn't love the first Guardians as much as I do I'd say this would probably be my favorite Marvel movie (considering how much I hated the first two Thor movies that's pretty high praise from me).

And another 6-12 inches minimum of snow happening today through tomorrow morning. wtf. I haven't had time to game or watch any youtube videos. Its work, play with the dogs, do random stuff that needs to be done, shovel, go to bed, repeat.

I've been rewatching Star Wars Clone Wars on netflix with Lady so she can see it before Disney eventually pulls all their products off netflix. I figure its only a matter of time before Disney launches their own streaming service and netflix probably loses 1/4 of their content.

Normally I'm not a fan of live-action adaptations for manga and anime but I gotta say the Blade of the Immortal movie live-action adaptation was fucking amazing. Gory as fuck, full of action, and just down right fucking awesome.
Please note that I have not read the manga, I've only seen the anime adaptation so I don't know how well they adapted it but I gotta say just based off of what little I know they did a stellar job for having to cram that much story into a 2 1/2 hour movie. Definitely recommend it if you're looking to watch something along these lines (and hell if you read the manga maybe you can tell me how well they adapted it), can't go wrong with senseless violence.
