  1. Its been two weeks since we started work on leveling a spot for a pool.. removing the sod and dirt to level out a spot has been alot of work. Especially since my backyard is one giant hill going up at an incline. So many rocks too.. every single shovel full hits a rock. And on top of it all we had to start the pool circle over at one point because we realized that location had too low of a low point and we'd have to remove way too much dirt. Its been two weekends of 6 hour days each day of shoveling and multiple days off that also had some shoveling time. We've moved over a literal ton of dirt and rocks and sod.. Its almost done. x_x lady has been a beast with all this work. Impressive as hell.

  2. FedEx delivered my pool the other day.. *sigh* FedEx hires anybody. I see the guy pull into the driveway almost taking out my mailbox at 30 mph. My driveway has a noticeable dip in it. As he hit that I heard boxes from inside my house tumbling around inside his truck. I go outside to open my garage door so I can put it in there for now.. The guy sees me and says "I'm going to need your help moving this, this is heavy." I'm like... "ok.. I can only help so much, get your dolly and I'll help get it on there." He already had the box out of the truck. I'm hoping he eased it down and didn't drop it off the back. This box with the pool in it is 150 pounds. I walk over to him and he still doesn't have the dolly. Hes like "How about you get that end."... me: "No, how about you get that dolly right there." him: "I can't get it off, its tied into place. Its on there tight, I can't work it off.  We could carry it" me: "nah, I have a bad nerve issue in my arms. I'm not carrying this box. I'll get you scissors and then you can cut that rope."

    Meanwhile I look in the truck and all the boxes are tossed all over the place. Its a disaster in there. Not a single thing in that truck is secured.. except the fucking dolly that is tied in place. -_-; The one and only tool every delivery guy needs and its tied down while all the packages are getting beat the shit out of in his truck while he drives crazy. I got some scissors, he cut the dolly free. He took that dolly, put it on the ground, I titled one end of the box, he got the dolly under it, wheeled it back and started to move it slowly. His eyes lit up like his job just got significantly easier. wtf. He perked up and moved that box quick to my garage. He asked where to put it, I said near the chair.. and then he put it behind the lawnmower instead.. me: "ok, I can move it from there, thanks!" wtf.. its like he never got trained.

      God damn I think FedEx in my area pays $16 minimum for a warehouse position ($22 an hour if you become a driver). No wonder they can't hire quality people XD

      See I have that problem with UPS in my area. Almost every package I get through them is usually banged up (luckily nothing has been damaged). FedEx is generally the one you want delivering your package around here.

      Thats what surprised me the most was the hourly wage. Most fast food places around here start off around $16 an hour if I remember right. $13.25 is incredibly low for warehouse work. They pay crap for crap employees apparently. x_x

      With those wages they gotta take people that basically have no where else to go because they have no references from getting fired and burning bridges.

  3. I thought I'd have some time for games this weekend... and we bought a swimming pool. lol. Looks like I'll be working on leveling the ground this weekend. I'll make some time for gaming at some point.. I must finish this GW2 episode. x_x

      You missed out on some great reddit posts. Someone did the last ep with a friend and used the Choya tonic before then last cutscene so it had the choya triumphantly standing in the sunset. XD someone else had a hook hand skin or something to pet Aurene with after Kralk dies. XD

  4. I've never had a reaction to poison ivy before until this week. My right arm is wrecked. Its been 4 days now and I haven't felt an itch like this since i had chicken pox as a kid. Calamine lotion does help tho.

      I don't know if some people can be immune to it or they can build up a resistance to it. All I know is I never had an issue before. Maybe my entire life I've just been lucky that the rash causing oils that touched me were low potency or something. But I'm taking this way more serious now. I had gloves on and a loose fitting long sleeve shirt on when I was doing yard work that day. I'm guessing the loose shirt sleeve rubbed up against the glove that touched the plant and when I pulled my sleeves up at some point to wash my hands it helped spreed the oil on my forearm. I'm glad I had gloves on or it'd have screwed me for work. Its been 6 days now and my right arm is still swelled up and looking nasty. I only have one bump on my left arm but its still swelled like I got stung by a giant wasp. And those spots are starting to get scaly looking. Its like I got that greyscale disease from game of thrones. XD I see why adults warn their kids about never touching poison ivy/oak/sumac. Now that I've experienced this I'll warn everyone the rest of my life too. x_x

      There are so many myths about poison ivy that I looked into over the last week. As long as the affected area has been washed it to remove the plant oils the rash cannot spread from person to person, any puss blisters does not spread the rash. Any clothes that did touch the oils can still spread a new rash on whoever touches it until those clothes are washed. And sometimes the rash looks like its spreading, but its just a delayed reaction of the skin where the plant oil already touched but had a delayed rash response.

      I did most my growing up in Virginia, and I remember how I was told hundreds of times about poison ivy, It was made out to be as dangerous as a snake basically even though I knew I couldn't die.. I guess it was more like getting skunked. There was some nursery rhyme about its 3 leaf appearance... something like 123 don't touch me!. XD They also made it out like as soon as you touched it, you instantly broke out in disgusting hives like something out of a horror movie. XD XD XD I mean it was overly dramatic but hey, it worked.

      Lmao. XD now there is giant hog weed that is even worse, will burn your skin on contact with sunlight and can cause blindness. I wonder what nursery rhyme it will get. XD

      And now to top it all off I got bit by a tick in my sleep. Went to the dr today because it already looks infected and I'm on antibiotics for 21 days. Wtf. I f*cking hate ticks.

  5. I"m loving owning a lawn tractor. I've used it only twice so far, but its great. I can get my entire lawn mowed in just under an hour and a half. The cup holder seems so pointless.. lawn tractors don't have shocks, its only the seat that has springs to save you from getting your ass and back wrecked.. I could only imagine someone putting a beer in that cup holder and driving off on the yard, that beer would last maybe 20 seconds before its all over the tractor. XD Now I need to buy a weed trimmer to trim around the trees and the ditch.. and 3 ceiling fans. I hate the light fixtures in 3 rooms. Time for an upgrade.

  6. Star Trek Discovery Season 2 was amazing. Significant improvement over season 1. Bringing in captain Pike, Spock and the Enterprise as well as tying the entire Discovery series into the timeline and canon of the original series was well done and extremely entertaining to watch. I wish they didn't f*ck up the klingons as much as they did in season 1, because aside from that Discovery is now a solid show that ranks up there with TNG and Voyager for me.

      Strider, if you're using the PS4 app its pretty bad. It seems to be inconsistent and I want to blame both Funi and Sony for it... but mostly funi since PS4's connectivity issues can be worked around by Netflix and every other streaming app it can run. Sadly funi's tech division is in the stone ages. When I first signed up you couldn't even save where you were in an ep or have a history of what you watched. With the membership update tuesday, bugs have riddled the library to where you have to use search and know what you're looking for as the selections on browsing are cut in half or worse.

      Some people say they can't even get the app to work, others say they have no issues at all. I will get at least one crash or constant buffering a session. Testing the connection in network settings for me solves the buffer thing, The app crashing, and restarting is just an anomaly, it wont happen for the rest of the day... for a universal solution I can't blame this on Wifi because people say it happens to them on a wired connection. I just know my PS4 has always been finicky about wifi, especially when changing modems over the years. Even though I get 100mbs, my PS4 never does better than around 30-40mbs on wifi. And it will go as low as 12mbs. When I had slower net speeds it was worse. I could run connection test 5 times and get 5 different speeds within a range of 20mbs of each other. So that tells me its never consistent at any time. I think that's what causes the app to crap out for a lot of people because Funi doesn't know how to code for constant connection quality changes or whatever. I can stream on my PC without issue 100%. Who knows what it is. but Yeah I wouldn't blame you for dropping the service since you're mostly a sub watcher.... although Funi now has a ton of subs on simulcast.

      @Strider Hiryu I didn't pay a dime for CBS All Access. Now that the second season is done you can get a free 7 day trial, marathon the entire series and cancel it. Aside from Star Trek Discovery there is absolutely nothing I want from CBS All Access. Same with if a season 3 gets made and eventually released 8 months to a year from now, I'll do a different free trial then too after the season finishes airing and watch it. Also, if you didn't finish Enterprise I highly recommend that last season and a half. You'll either love it or hate it since it takes the show in a completely different direction and the tech they show is pretty unique to.

      People gave mixed reviews for Discovery for many obvious reasons for season 1 if you watch it. They did the Klingons completely wrong and then try to say it was canon. My ass. Even with how they tried to fix them in season 2 they still screwed them up beyond redemption with season 1. I honestly did not like season 1 at all until they started a different arc 3/4 through the season. They also focused a bit too much on relationships. Straight, homosexual, etc. I wanted to watch Star Trek not watch some half assed relationship drama sub plots that takes place on a space ship. Season 2 was much better since it actually focused on the exploration first and foremost. The other complaint I saw was people complaining about the crew behavior, occasional swearing, and lack of discipline in some cases. Oh no, there was 3 swear words in this season! Blasphemy! -_-; To me it actually made the characters more relatable. Unlike in Enterprise where Scot Bakula's character and half the crew all tried to be boy scouts in space with too strong of a focus on emotional baggage.

      DS9 was good. I liked the Dominion war and found it very interesting. I think DS9 gets too much crap thrown at it because of Sisko's character progression into becoming basically a space jesus. lol. I definitely understand why people would want religion not mentioned in a space scifi series, but for DS9 it worked because it was unknown alien life living in a worm hole.

      @DeathscytheX Yea I use the PS4 app and its fucking terrible. It worked perfectly when I started to use it (back when I was watching Hellsing Ultimate) but started to go to shit like shortly after (in fact it was horrendous when I was watching Corpse Princess). I hadn't used it since I finished Corpse Princess so I was hoping it was fixed but honestly it's not and my issue is the buffering problem (which also persists in the Phone App as well leading me to conclude the PS4 and Mobile apps are either the same or based on the same architecture). It works fine on my PC (which I tested Saturday night) but ever since I started watching anime through the CR app on PS4 I kinda don't like watching shit on my PC anymore (I like to watch shit while I'm in bed, kinda hard to do when my PC isn't in line of sight)) but I just don't really want to watch it there (as noted). Honestly there is quite a bit on Funimation I'd like to watch (more then I originally thought since CR lost everything when the partnership ended) and it's the only place I can currently stream Isekai Quartet and Sewayaki Kitsune no Senko-san (which is fucking adorable and so relaxing to watch) so I really don't want to drop my sub yet. After Senko and Isekai are done airing I'll revisit whether or not I want to cancel my sub.

      @Sledgstone Hmmmm, maybe I'll get the week trial then and binge it (once I'm done watching Letterkenny on Hulu (god this show is fucking awesome, if you have Hulu check it out it's fucking hilarious)) since my curiosity is getting the best of me here (I really want to know more about this tech Discovery has because they don't explain it in STO at all). That was my major issue with watching it was their complete fuck-up with the Klingons. I can live with TOS Klingons because it's canon and actually explained in TNG why they are the way they are but those abominations in Discovery are not Klingons. Everything else looked pretty amazing but I just couldn't get past the those looks.

      I plan on watching the rest of Enterprise but it's hard to find the time when I rarely watch anything besides anime now-a-days (I make time here and there for TV/Movies occasionally but I'm always on my PC playing FFXIV or doing other shit and usually have Twitch on as background noise) especially since I got screwed and the channel carrying it back when it was airing went off the air in my area so I only got to see up until the end of S2 (I got to see S3 and part of 4 back when SyFy used to run marathons of it but never got further then that). I actually liked the whole boy scout aspect of it since this was technically humanity's first foray into space (it did get slightly annoying but it was still enjoyable).

      Yea the whole space jesus thing was probably the one of the only things that rubbed me the wrong way in DS9. Never really could wrap my head around it but that only really becomes a massive plot point later on. Still didn't detract from my enjoyment though (especially since some of my favorite Star Trek characters are in DS9). Plus it also introduced my favorite Federation starship (the Defiant, god I love that little ship. Not as much as I like my Presidio Class in STO (it's such a beautiful ship and fucking powerful)).

  7. I need to buy a lawn tractor soon.. maybe this weekend. The last lawn tractor I owned was a piece of crap hand me down that nickel and dimed me to death until I got rid of it and got a decent push mower instead. But my yard now has just over an entire acre of just grass. No way in hell I can push mow that. I might get a Cub Cadet or John Deere tractor. I need to see what might be on sale. I had the lawn mowed at the end of last year right when we moved in and its $40 per mow. x_x

      I had a science teacher that had a goat, now that I think about it he had to mow grass too because he use to tell the class how he sent him out first and watched as he stepped into the hornets nests in the ground and got attacked. He knew where to avoid after that. What a dick. XD

    3. Sledgstone

      I bought my new lawn tractor yesterday. Had to finance it like a mini car payment. I thought about getting a used one but I didn't want to get nickel and dimed to death by random constant repairs over the years.

  8. Been busy with overtime. Gotta get those hours in while I can.

  9. I've been a bit inactive lately. Lots of things going on with my personal life and work. There's a new big update for the forum software we use and it's finally been released which is also another reason why I didn't update the themes yet. Hopefully if I have the time this weekend I'll get that all updated.

  10. I've been sick as hell for the last 5 days now. Damn sinus infection has wrecked me. At least I got some time in on God of War. Damn that game is amazing.

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

      Maybe being away from all those sick coughing people at your old office has made your immune system weak? XD j/k j/k. Everyone is so sick around here. Now that I've returned to a management type roll I'm back to telling people they aren't coming in with the sickness or sending them home. It's always baffled me how someone can't come in because they have a headache, but they say they can't afford to miss any work when they got full blown H1N1 wtf. -_-;

  11. Looks like my weekend will be nothing but shoveling. -_-; 10-20 inches minimum Saturday night through Sunday. With a high of 12 degrees.. but the worst part is we're supposed to have high winds. fml.. that will make it have a windchill temp in the negatives all day and drifting snow banks of 1-2 feet everywhere. -_-;

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

      Your luck with free time is the absolute worst ever. I've never seen anything like it. XD

  12. Happy new year!

  13. Finally got my dishwasher completely hooked up. What a pain in the ass. Mostly because the previous owners of this house didn't extend the new flooring into the dishwasher cabinet area.. and they installed an outlet directly behind the dishwasher that requires a flat style plug I had to order.. and the delivery guys threw away the insulation piece that I also had to order (no charge from whirlpool for that at least). And when I finally got it all in place I couldn't mount it until I added a new piece of wood trim to the underside of the cabinet to give it something to mount to. I know see why installation prices can run so high. wtf. Over 2 weeks I put like 8 hours into this thing. I ran it once for the first time last night. Seems pretty efficient.

      Oh god I couldn't imagine. XD

      It was a good learning experience tho. I now know how to do it in case I ever need to again.. and I found out that sharkbite brand pipe fittings work amazingly well with no tools required. If I need to replace a damn fitting again I'll use that brand from now on. That was the last thing too.. I went to connect the water line, unscrewed the end of the pipe expecting a threaded connection on the end and instead I found out it was a pipe cap that popped off with just the end of a pipe with no fitting to connect the water supply line too. wtf. These people must have literally cut the pipe to disconnect their previous dishwasher instead of unhooking it correctly.

      Holy crap you're right. XD I didn't notice until I read your comment. XD On another unrelated note I should be getting the other themes reinstalled this weekend. 😛

  14. The newest chapter of OPM was amazing. The artwork is top notch quality and I highly doubt another season of OPM will even compare to it. Child Emperor is a beast and is truly an S-class hero. I thought he was just brains and ranked as an S-class just for his intelligence. The fights hes been in with his robotic creations and that gundam he made wtf. Hes f*cking awesome. :D

  15. I got my new fridge hooked up over the weekend. Built in water and ice maker is amazing. I never realized how convenient that really is. Thanks goes out to the inlaws and aunt for the amazing gift. :D

    3. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

      Holy cow, mad conveniences. XD Although diswasher can be hit or miss. Ive had some where you could just rinse stuff off and toss it in. I have had others that you had to make sure you got every spec off each plate or else it would get dried to the bottom of all the cups on the top rack after the water jets blasted it off the plates into the cups. XD

  16. This super white default theme is bugging my eyes. x_x I was busy all week/weekend again doing insulation work on the house. Couple that with a power and internet outage last week and all my free time keeps getting sucked away. I have a new fridge and dishwasher getting delivered this weekend so I'll be a bit busy with that. Especially since I don't know if the electric is actually hooked up correctly for the dishwasher outlet. I keep trying to play a bit of God of War at night and I end up pausing it and walking away to get more crap done. -_-; ugh.. I need more free time. I'm tapped out almost all of my vacation too. I have a few days left scheduled for the end of the year. Maybe I'll be able to play that new episode of GW2 by then.

  17. Black friday sales started early so I bought a 4k HDR 50 inch samsung tv. I'm pleased with it. The blacks this tv gets still blows my mind. I doubt I'll buy a PS4pro, but in the mean time my regular PS4 has HDR.. but I only have one game that actually takes advantage of it and thats Uncharted 4. I don't think I'll be replaying it any time soon just to see the graphical difference, but regardless this tv upscales like a champ. Everything looks significantly better. Thats a hell of a lot better upscaling than blu ray players do for dvds. Its a night and day difference.

    I put on Rise of the Tomb Raider last night and Battlefield 1 and the quality is top notch. Game mode works with HDR for this tv, so I can put on game mode for reduced input lag which is nice without affecting quality. It also has bitstream audio pass through which works great with my old receiver for surround sound.

    The tv has Motion rate 120 instead of true 120 hz refresh rate which I didn't know was a different thing when I was buying the tv. But thats ok, I doubt the PS5 when it eventually comes out will even come close to 60 fps at 4k and my current pc graphics card will no way in hell do any better than 60 fps at 4k so I'm pretty much set for future proofing at the moment.. at least for the next 4-5 years probably. And motion rate 120 is a bit nuts. I had to turn the judder down on that. It makes everything so fluid its like everything was filmed like a soap opera. XD I never realized more fps on a movie would look so different. XD But the biggest downside is for animated titles. It cause a bit too much of a blur effect as the tv basically fills in the games to increase the fps.. its not good for animated shows.

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

      I do think both the PS5 and Xbox will both hit 60fps at 4k. Thats the knock on the pro and S versions of the consoles now. While they are more powerful, they don't do this. The next generation on consoles will probably not have much of a polygon count increase like previous generations one uping the next. I think it will be more about dynamic lighting and shadows and how much can happen on the screen at once. We've reached a certain apex in graphics that will be pretty difficult to pass significantly.

      We've gotten to a point though where graphics aren't everything anymore. God of War was spectacularly beautiful and is my favorite game of the PS4 era, but I had almost just as much fun playing Ys VIII which had PS3 graphics with current gen aspect ratio. I think there will still be a lot of games that don't hit the benchmark, but there will be Triple A games that do because they are expected too. With the whole shaky ground big studios are on right now though with microtransactions and pissing off their bases with flat out arrogance, I can see smaller studios getting even more love in the future. I want more Ys and Nier Automata and less annual titles. As long as its in HD and looks nice on my big ass TV screen, thats all I need.

  18. R.I.P. Stan Lee. You will be missed. :(

  19. I still haven't had the time to play any of the GW2 halloween event and it ends tomorrow. :( but i did get the new entrance to my deck completed. I cut a good chunk of the wood fence off, reinforced it with pieces of 2x4, sanded it and reinforced adjacent parts of the deck with huge deck screws. I borrowed my friend's impact driver. Holy crap I need to buy one of these. That thing is beastly and amazing. :D

  20. The people that were renting the house I bought ended up breaking the stove and the master bathroom faucet. Over the last week I got my new gas stove, converted it to propane, got it hooked up, replaced my faucet... ran duct work and installed a new dryer vent.. the owner never installed a proper dryer vent. Their tenants must have been venting the dryer into insulation into the house.. wtf. I have more projects still.. I also have to change the faucet in the kitchen. -_-; I hope I can finally be done with house work this weekend. My PS4 is still sitting in a plastic walmart bag and I have multiple boxes still left to unpack. -_-;

  21. I've been too busy with moving and stuff. I didn't realize facebook login crippled the front page of AC unless you were logged in. I don't know when that started happening, but I've disabled facebook and twitter login for now until I have the time to resolve the issue.

  22. I never want to move again. Almost every day for the last week has been rain and it's raining even now. It's hard to believe how much stuff two ppl can accumulate over 18 year's until you have to move it all under a time restriction. -_-;

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

      I told you it was the worst part. XDXDXD

  23. Thanks Spectrum/Time Warner for shutting off my services in the middle of the work day. fml. I scheduled the new account activation at my new house for this weekend and for the old account at the house I'm renting to terminate as of monday.. so what does Spectrum do? Shut my account down 1 day before the new account is activated and a full 4 days before it was scheduled to close. wtf. It took me 40 mins on the phone for them to reactivate my internet so I could finish working. wtf.

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

      Its amazing how you cant just call up the cable company and have them come out that day to hook you up, but they can come a day early to disconnect you. XD Its such bullshit because it takes all of 10-15 minutes for them do to their job when they show up... but you need an appointment. It should be as basic as ordering pizza.

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

      Lol. Its funny because Spectrum had a hell of a time at my new house this morning. The person that did the install last time did the grounding wire completely wrong and this guy had to call up another spectrum person for help. They dug up a trench and buried a cable. He was here just over 3 hours running brand new cable all over the place and hes got to come back again later to replace a phone line in a crawlspace. XD At least I have good internet here now. I have 100 mbps connection, 10mpbs upload, no data caps and if I want to I can upgrade to the 1 gig plan here and have a 990+ mbps connection. Its actually a downgrade for me atm tho. The plan at my old house was 200 mbps standard. That would cost me extra now.

  24. Finally got our house today. All the legal paperwork is done and keys in hand. :D

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

      Now the worse part.... packing and unpacking. X_x

    2. Sledgstone

      The worst part was the last 10 weeks. XD we've been moving stuff the last couple days and even tho it's busting our asses, at least it's not too stressful. XD

  25. The last two chapters of One Punch Man have been the best action/fight scenes I've seen in a manga in years. Flashy Flash's fight was epic and focused on speed and technique. Huge props to the artist for how he drew a speed battle in manga form. Very impressive.
