  1. I know this they're going to have to re-balance the whole same hero picking system because PC players are starting to complain and I honestly see why. JackFrags and his group ran into a group that had 5 Mei's and a Lucio on the defending side. They still won the match but it's safe to say it took them almost 4 minutes to capture the first point due to every Mei rotating out their Ice Wall on the entrance points (they countered it with a 4 Pharah rush from above but this shouldn't be a necessary tactic just to play the game). Multiple of the same hero shouldn't be a thing and was my major complaint when I first started playing the beta (I honestly see no reason for repeat heroes on teams, though I will admit it's hilarious to see teams troll other teams with the tactic). I don't know how prevalent this is on console however because I mainly watch PC streamers.

Mei does need to be reworked and that was evident in the beta. She's the best hero for crowd control if you play her right, her attacks are devastating (the ability to freeze other heroes and then one shot them with the icicle shot is a little to overpowered), her ultimate is the ultimate objective cleaner if your team works together, and she's extremely hard to kill with her ability to wrap herself in ice. While I admit she's a nice counter to certain heroes she shouldn't be the ultimate counter to every hero. Considering how popular she is (on PC at least) I don't really see any major nerfs coming down for her until either Blizzard finds a way to do it without pissing people off or they bring in a new hero to play (as of right now I've not seen an effective counter for her).

Genji has a steep learning curve (he's extremely agile, the only hero that can double jump, wields both ranged and melee weapons, his Ult is hard to use effectively, and he's extremely squishy). While he's not that hard to play he's hard to master. I thought I did pretty well playing him in the beta but even I admit I'm no where near that good at playing him (his main two attacks are weird and extremely hard to land and his sword attack, while effective, is hard to properly wield).

Battleborn, while I loved the game while I played the beta, suffers from not enough advertising (hell I never heard of it until the beta went live). It's no real surprise they dropped the price for it when Overwatch launched because they knew they were going to lose quite a bit of their player base once Overwatch fully launched (and like DX said they're player numbers are low). Gearbox should of put more into advertising the game and generating more hype for it (something Blizzard did extremely well for the game having multiple closed betas, plenty of press, and those amazing Animated Shorts).

  2. After watching this I can honestly say I feel a little better about this movie considering one of them is a huge Warcraft fan and the other isn't but they both liked the film (plus I trust their reviews, they're generally more level headed then most other reviewers).

Heh, I honestly didn't know most of those names I mentioned until I played WoW (I hardly remember playing the original Warcraft outside of Medivh's death and a few other points of interest, everything I know about it now was from reading up on it). WoW introduced me to the overarching plot that connected the first three games and got me extremely interested in what caused the events that lead to WoW's original starting point (4 years after the end of The Frozen Throne). I remembered the majority of WC2 from having played the hell out of it on my original Playstation (back when they used to port RTS games onto consoles, wasn't the greatest port but the game was still fun as hell) and WC3 was still fresh in my memory since I had only recently finished another play through a month or two before WoW's release. It's funny how a game that spent more time rewriting this established lore made me and many other players go seek out and read all the established lore (plus the game itself contains a lot of this lore if you know where to look).

  3. My main thing for this movie is it a complete retelling of the first game or is it just a part of the overall story (I mean there really hasn't been any news on whether there will be more then one movie in this series, we can assume so but there hasn't been any concrete news on it and if there is will it be a rap up of the first war or will we move into the second war). I only want to know because I'm extremely interested in seeing their take of Medivh's death and how Garona kills King Llane. Which is another thing that bugs me. He claims to be a fan of the series yet doesn't know that Garona is half-orc half-dranei (which I realize was brought to our attention in WoW (since the Dranei weren't part of the lore at the time of the first games release) but it's still part of the lore now). It's a minor complaint but putting half-human in there just bugs me (even though I don't know how happy I was to find out she was half-dranei (seemed forced for story purposes but makes more sense then her being half-human as humans didn't exist on Draenor prior to the second war), should also be noted she has a kid with Medivh who took his place as Guardian of Tirisfal).

I don't know if I should be saddened that I know this much about Warcraft or not.

  4. The orcs speaking English shouldn't be such a disconnect for him or others in general, we get it in a lot of stuff these days it's not funny (take anime for instance, there's more then a few shows that all you hear is Japanese yet those characters are speaking Russian, English, Chinese, etc (yes I'm looking at Black Lagoon, you're in Thailand god damnit. Not everyone in Thailand speaks Japanese)). That can be easily over looked (I mean in the games they speak English as well, there is no disconnect in languages and there never really was until Warcraft III and even then it was mostly for the Night Elves) because there really wasn't an Orchish language developed for the orcs or any other language developed for the other races (this is Blizzard we're talking about, not Tolkien who spent years perfecting the Elven language).

Warcraft, at least when it originally launched, had some pretty serious overtones in it. Yea there were bits a humor here and there but the story was always serious. The Orcs were invading Azeroth under the orders of Gul'Dan who, at the time, was serving the Burning Legion. Medivh, under Sargeras's control, allowed the orcs through with the construction of the Dark Portal. The entirety of the first game was the Alliance fighting for survival against a horde of unstoppable savages trying to kill and take their lands. Don't really know how that could of been more campy or humorous. Plus most of the humor from the RTS games came from clicking the units multiple times and getting their joke voice lines (I honestly don't remember there being an humor in the actual story lines presented).

I think the movie's main failing is the Durotan story. While I think Durotan was mentioned in the lore at the time (I don't remember, been years since I played the first Warcraft game) he didn't have any significant role in the actual series until Warcraft III where he's used to give Thrall a backstory and a reason for bringing the horde back together in the old ways. Writing his story into the first games story seems to have added more to an already convoluted story. They should of focused on the major players of the first war instead of bringing him in (though I do want to see his story as it's never played out in the games and you only really get to learn about him in the novels).

I still plan on watching this. The trailers have all been rather entertaining and honestly it's not like they can really ruin the games or lore for me. Blizzard already did that 6+ years ago by rewriting a lot of that lore themselves with WoW.

  5. I was gonna give you shit for not having any trophies yet until I read the descriptions for them (I figured you'd have quite a few of them after you started playing).

Heh, I was watching streams for it yesterday since I have nothing better to do and I'm kinda sick of playing games right now. Torbjorn is a powerhouse, I see him getting nerfed in the future after what I saw last night (both LevelCap and Matimi0 went on 30 kill streaks with him). You place that turret in the right place and it's unstoppable.

Also saw a hell of a Genji player last night while watching Matimi0. The guy went on a tear and wiped their team three times before they finally killed him. Every minute or so he was using his Ult and it was spectacular. That player really showed just how powerful Genji is in the right hands.

PC wise Reinhardt seems to still be the best tank. Matimi0 was going ham with him last night while the rest of his team went McCree with on Lucio (surprisingly enough it's an extremely effective team on Escort and Control). I've noticed that people are countering him with Bastion but it's honestly not much different from what we experienced in the beta for us (unless the people they were playing didn't do their homework).

Mercy does seem to have a huge target on her back. I've seen more people running Lucio over her (or running Lucio with her in the team) and I've been seeing a lot of people use Symmetra for defensive teams (and I finally saw why, her turrets are devastating if used correctly and her ability to teleport people is extremely useful for defending teams) due to everyone automatically gunning for Mercy at the get go (though a good Mercy player can keep themselves up if they know what they're doing). They're either going to have to give her armor like Reinhardt and D.Va or give her some sort of ability to run from battle faster (like giving her the ability to fly like Pharah, I mean she has wings why not use them). I highly doubt they'll allow her to do more damage because she's the only dedicated healer in this game (though I do think her staff should be able to do damage instead of switching to that pathetic pistol she has). I'm more for the ability to fly away from danger based on my experience with her in the beta, while armor would be a nice offset to her being so weak I feel she's more suited for running due to her personality (she's about saving lives not taking them). Give her a system similar to Pharah just without fuel gauge (base her ability to fly off of energy or take away her healing ability while she's flying to balance it out). This ability could replace her ability to fly directly to an ally and allow her somewhat more survivabilty in situations where she's the only one left. I rarely used her ability to get to allies faster so I wouldn't miss it if I was playing the game.

After everything I've seen (an extremely smooth launch I have to say. The kicking people out of the game was a minor problem if you ask me) since it launched yesterday I plan on picking this up as soon as I get a job. Blizzard outdid themselves with this game and they've actually impressed me for the first time in a long time (SC2: LoV is an exception, I haven't beaten it yet and it's Starcraft so I can't not love or be impressed by it).

  6. It looks like it could be funny but I'm with you, something seems off about it. Plus casting Thor as the clueless secretary is just wrong (I get it, he's eye candy for the all the ladies but come on). The new weapons do look cool though.

They fucked up with the marketing for that first trailer, the director himself has admitted it. I think they were trying to draw in the fans of the old series with it but completely dropped the ball with it. It makes it look like a sequel when it's obviously a reboot.

  7. I pretty much bought Battlefront for the same reasons as DX. Is it a good game? Yes, it's a really good game. Sadly thought it suffered for the reasons DICE said it did, it was rushed. There wasn't enough to do when the game released, it had a limited amount of maps, and honestly once you played it once you pretty much knew everything it had to offer and that's what killed it for me (Battlefield is always fun because Battlefield matches are driven completely by their players, you never get the same experience twice when you're in a Battlefield match however you get the same experience every match you play in Battlefront).

Hardline was a good game it just wasn't thought out properly (a lot of gamers enjoyed it, I know a lot of PC gamers wished the game would of lasted longer but the PC version pretty much tanked after release). I enjoyed the beta mostly because it was more fast paced then core Battlefield games. Don't get me wrong I love the core series but Hardline was a nice change, almost a COD style Battlefield game. I think the theme pretty much killed it as most gamers aren't interested in Cops vs Robbers games.

  8. Don't have Time Warner in my parts so this doesn't effect me any (it is nice to see that they're finally getting with the program and upgrading your connections though). I've had the option to switch to a 120M/12M connection for quite some time (for the same price that I pay for 20M/2M now) and I can even jump up to 250M/25M ($105.99 a month, not really in the cards if you ask me even though I would like to have it (I'd like to break into streaming games as a hobby and this connection would be best for it)). I've just been to lazy to call and upgrade my service (plus not having a job atm puts a strain on that as well) but with how my connection has been doing lately I'll probably upgrade to the 120 once I get a job.

  9. Based on how well live-action adaptations of anime and games have been in the past I don't think Nintendo will go down the live-action route with their properties ever again (Mario Brothers anyone, I actually liked the movie but I was a kid when I first saw it so yea).

It should be noted that Nintendo gave up majority control of the Seattle Mariners to do this (something I didn't know until I watched the Inside Gaming episode on this yesterday, funny to think Nintendo owned an American Baseball Team). Goes to show you Nintendo is financially hurting so I think this is there way of trying to come out of the red and recoup some losses after the Wii-U debacle.

  10. I'll have to agree that is a rather retarded demo concept especially considering you don't really get a feel for the whole battle system or really any look into the overarching story. I get the feeling that's only a small portion of the game (if it's even in the game, for all purposes this could of just been a proof of concept demo (a shitty one)). The Iron Giant battle looked sweet (though I still don't like the combat system). I know the first demo went over well with fans and it was an actual better look at game mechanics.

Honestly I agree with you on breaking the plot up and spreading it across different formats, it's retarded and is only a money making ploy (something SE is becoming a master of doing lately). Plus it dumbs games down and forces people to go above and beyond just to get the whole story experience. As far as I know the anime (5 ONA episodes) is a prequel to the actual events of the game and helps set up the world and continuity (I took that almost word for word from the Wiki page on it). Honestly you could probably skip watching it and not really miss anything since, as FF stories usually do, they'll spill almost all past story elements in some sort of long dialog/flash back sequence. I also don't think they'll split this game in multiple titles. Not only has the game been in development for 10 years (originally starting off as a much more interesting game called FF versus XIII with a completely different concept) it wouldn't be financially sound to split a game like this into parts (considering the debacle with the FFXIII games, that while they sold well most received poor reviews). I could be wrong, we are talking about SE and they haven't been making financially sound decisions since FFXII and the complete rework of FFXIV.

Its sad to say but I expect we'll be seeing this a lot more in the future from SE with follow-up FF games. FFVII will probably be the first in a jaunt down memory lane and I can see remakes coming for various other titles in the series (we've already seen a remake of FFIV and a sequel to it so I wouldn't be surprised if we get a remake of FFVI and a remaster of FFXII). I don't honestly expect to see a main franchise game coming out for a few years now and that will all be based on how well XV does and how well it's received (FFXIV we'll be SE's new XI and I'm sure it'll live on for quite a few years before they drop it). I think SE is putting all their hopes in XV doing well and if it doesn't that the FFVII remake will help fans forget it if it flops (though the FFVII remake is it's own can of worms and based on their current track record I forsee a lot of pissed off fans in the future).

  11. I figured it was going to be bad but not as bad as that. I may or may not still pick this up once I've read/watched some reputable reviews of the game.

See this is why I have no faith in the FF7 remake. From what little we've seen of the game so far the battle system is similar to XV (without the teleporting shit) and honestly the graphics are pretty much the same from whats in XV. SE fucked up with the XIII series (no matter how good the story was in the first game that does not excuse the game we were given or the whole series as a point) and really fucked the dog with the original iteration of FFXIV (it took replacing the entire dev team for XIV to give us ARR, which is an amazing game). Things are honestly not looking good for SE atm (though the new Star Ocean looks fucking amazing).

Sadly the problem is exactly what DX pointed out, people will still buy this in droves and this will probably be one of the best selling games of the year when all is said and done (there are plenty of people out there giving the demo praise). This won't faze them in the least and they'll continue to pump out sub-par games like this. The sad thing is, as I pointed out awhile ago, the new generation of gamers are ADD riddled kids with no love for story driven games. If the game isn't fast paced, graphically pretty, and linear to a fault they won't buy it (this goes for RPG's, open world/sandbox games sell damn good but only if they're of the GTA variety). The type of games we want, while they still sell extremely well in Japan, sell worth the shit over here which is why we don't get all the awesome RPG's that Japan gets. Plus American's want their RPG's to play like Mass Effect, KoToR, Dragon Age, etc. They want an action based RPG that will keep them interested (while I realize those 3 games mentioned have amazing stories they're the few exceptions).

  12. Besides the shit music choice that trailer was pretty sick. Being a fan of the series and having played all the primary games in the franchise (with the exception of Unity and Syndicate, 2 and 4 are the best games in this series (Ezio and Edward are two of the best characters to come from this entire series)) I'm seriously looking forward to the movie (though I wish they would of used the Spanish Inquisition for the games, that'd be a great time to set one of the games).

There is, honestly, no way they can fuck this movie up to any extent as the games (after 3) are only loosely tied together (I know it's a spoiler but if you don't plan on playing the games Desmond dies at the end of 3 so it's generally a new real world protagonist now with every game). The new Animus is a little weird but like Elliot from ETC News said (youtube channel, suggest checking them out) they might be going for the VR feel with this new animus (and honestly who wants to watch a movie with a guy lying on a bed for the majority of it when they cut to real world scenes). Outside of that all the basics are there with Abstergo (Templar front) kidnapping an unsuspecting victim, random protagonist being used for his ancestor's memories (who happens to be an assassin) to find what we presume is a Piece of Eden, and a romp down memory lane watching Assassins and Templars kill each other in a historical setting while searching for said Piece of Eden. Sure they may fuck up, it's a movie adaptation of a game, but for now I think this might be the game movie we deserved back in the day when we were getting those shit adaptations.

  13. Once I finally get a job and get back on my feet I'll probably be tossing the $379 down on the 1070 or go with the 1080 but that will all depend on reviews and my friends opinion on the matter since he's building it (he originally told me to hold off on buying my parts until this announcement, not only for reduced prices but to see if these new cards were worth the investment). Can't wait for these to hit the market so we can see what they're really capable of.

  14. See when the whole Infinity Ward debacle went down a few years ago Activision lost it's only team willing to challenge the genre and write new Engine code (something that is not easy and would require there to be a 2-3 year break inbetween COD titles (which, lets be honest, they need it)). While Titanfall somewhat flopped that was what was made by most of the original Infinity Ward staff (remember COD4 was made by these guys hence why it's a freaking masterpiece, though MW2 was a mixed bag) because EA said "Hey we want you to work for us. Give us an original IP and you have complete control over how you do it (well not complete control but enough to make a AAA game)."

Activision (as well as EA but they're more willing to allow developers like DICE to do as they please, not so much with their other developers) are known for stagnating game growth (WoW too a serious down hill turn when Activision bought out Blizzard in 2008 (however that is my opinion, I noticed a serious lack of quality once they took over)). While I'm sure it's not entirely their fault and IW, Treyarch (who have had the three best games in the series since BO1), and Sledgehammer have to take on some of this blame but when a company comes out and says we'll release a game in this series every year you severely stagnate the growth a game franchise can have. As I said above it takes up to a year to get a new engine coded and fully kink free before you even plan on using it to build a game. None of these developers have the time and probably don't have the money to invest in building a new Engine from the ground up (I believe I stated this in another topic quite a while ago but besides the initial startup funds all a developer gets for money is milestone payments if they reach their milestones (which is just enough to pay you're team and pay any bills/overhead you might have) and a pathetic little 6-10% royalty on every game sold (10% is generally reserved for developers like DICE who release quality products all the time). You also have to realize that this initial startup payment they get is based entirely on a budget that's proposed by them and okayed by the publisher (which you know is completely low balled on the publishers end)). DICE, on the other hand, does which is why we see new iterations of the Frostbite Engine at a pretty regular pace. BF4 will be 3 years old in October (in fact after BF1 is released) and the game was made using the infant FB3 engine, which was extremely noticeable at launch. The Engine has had 3 years and multiple games on it to work out all those kinks to make it the great engine it is now. Plus DICE probably has an in house team devoted to programming and bug fixing current and future engines (a luxury most developers don't have, then again most developers don't release consistently great and money making titles like DICE either).

Bungie took a chance only because Bungie was brought on specifically to create a new IP by Activision, they forked over the cash to get the game out because Activision knew they were falling behind with original IP titles to push them forward (plus when you have the legacy of creating the Halo franchise, one of the most successful FPS games to date, it's not hard to not get what you want). Did Bungie fuck up? Well since we all agree on that this question was sorta loaded. Did Activision have something to do with it? Damn right they did but what that was we will probably never know (but a lot of the shady shit that went down prior to Destiny being released can probably be tracked back to Activsion).

The idea to bundle the MW remaster with IW was totally Activision's idea which screw IW in the long run because even if this game sells extremely well it's only because everyone wanted the MW remaster. This also screws us over as it requires us to spend $70+ to get the game we really want. Whether Activision is truly screwing the developers or not is a matter of opinion but when you looks at their current business model it's quite obvious to see they aren't helping their developers any.

  15. The bundling of the Modern Warfare Remaster on Infinite Warfare has a lot of people thinking Activision has no faith in IW. Sad but I think they're right. BO3 did well but they did notice a drop off in sales from previous years and with the bad press for their the IW trailer I think they're more afraid then ever. Plus, apparently pre-orders for IW have been pretty steady due to the remaster so I don't think the game will have trouble selling but outside of that it'll probably never be played (and by what I've heard the remaster will not work without IW so this means the game is going to be connected to the IW disc/dl, which completely sucks).

DICE took the right approach here. While I would of preferred a WWII game I'm extremely hyped for BF1 from that trailer. Plus everything I've heard about it since the trailer dropped has me even more intrigued to play it (the main thing being Assault being its own class and it's healing abilities being brought into it's own class, plus needing a whole squad to operate a tank seems like an awesome idea). While DICE dropped the ball on Battlefront it's launch was pretty damn smooth so I'm hoping they took what they learned from the CTE in BF4 and BFH and bring it into BF1 at launch (stable servers, great netcode, etc). However, if this game launches like BF4 did DICE will most likely loose a lot of the player base who will most likely buy and play IW (reluctantly but they still will).

Jack's in depth analysis. He goes over quite a bit of stuff he saw during the Press Event that happened after the live stream. A little more indepth info is presented about the trailer as well (well what he could talk about, he's under NDA for quite a bit of stuff yet).

  16. Heh, I got POTG today with Reinhardt for going complete ham on the capture point. It was freaking amazing. Killed a Hanzo from behind and then stunned two people and rammed their asses into the wall killing both. We capped the point because of that move alone.

Like I mentioned when we were playing together, Reaper is a fickle character to play. His weapons are extremely slow firing and they're meant for medium to short range. He's a glass cannon for the most part with no real chance of surviving an encounter against more then one - two opponents.  I respect and fear him when I fight against him but honestly I'm not a huge fan of playing him. Plus he's like the most picked hero on the PS4 it's not even funny (I got in a match where all 5 of my teammates played as him, suffice to say we got our asses kicked and this was after I gave up playing Tracer (who I wanted to try out outside of the Tutorial) to play as Lucio for heals).

Tracer is actually very easy to kill as Hanzo if you know how to counter her blink ability. I got in a losing match tonight and chose Hanzo (before I noticed we were loosing) and I made the enemy Tracer my bitch over and over. The key is to hit her with you're split arrow, if that thing connects before it splits it will one shot Tracer and most other low health players since once it hits them it splits dealing full damage from all split arrows. It's a cheap move and not exactly easy to pull off but if you can it's an instant Tracer death (and with a 12-15 sec cooldown it can be spammed).

Mercy is highly underrated. Lucio is probably the favorite healer amongst players. But Mercy's revive can make or break a last minute rally. Then again Lucio's team speed boost is very handy in getting back to the objective. This game has really good balance. It really shows the difference between putting 3 years into a game's developed rather than a year and a half.

All true points. This is how I see their uses. Mercy is the undisputed Queen of healing in this game as her heal not only heals more but faster then any other heal. She's balanced much like a healer from an MMO but without the ability to really hold her own in a fight. She's most valuable when you have a Reinhardt as a tank and when you're playing Escort or the Hybrid Control/Escort maps. She's pretty much useless on Control maps since you're fighting in a small area and require a more mobile healer with the ability to AoE heal. She's also able to buff damage output and her ultimate is a revive that brings all dead allies in the immediate area back to life (allowing for clutch victories or captures). Lucio is what I consider the middle ground support character (and the undisputed King of it). Not only does he have an AoE speed boost to allow you're team to get to the point faster he has a weaker heal but an AoE one that heals everyone in the area. His ultimate is a group wide shield that allows you're allies to mitigate more damage to allow that heal to do its work. One of his abilities is to boost the effectiveness of the song he's currently playing and he's able to damage while healing (and knock people back). Honestly he's best played in Control maps but due to his more support role and AoE heal he does well on all maps. Zenyatta for me is more DPS then support. While he does have a heal in his Harmony Orb it's a one person target and stays with that person until they die or you recall it. He's able to debuff one enemy with his Discord Orb making them weaker and his ultimate makes him invulnerable for 7-8 seconds and emits an AoE heal. His heal, while good, is limited to one person at a time and is more limited then Mercy's which makes him probably the last healer you want on your team based on game mode (relying on his Ult is not a good practice unless the Zenyatta on your team or you playing him is good enough to get kills and keep that ult up). He really shines in the damage output he can do. His orbs hit hard and his charge shot can one shot almost every hero in the game if all 5 orbs hit. While he's good enough to be useful on all map types I think he really shines in Control where his attacks and debuff ability make him extremely dangerous. I've never played Symmetra but in the right hands she can be devastating (but I do agree she's really not a support character).

Besides Mercy and Reinhardt I really have no favorite characters. While I bitch about being shoved into the tank and healing roles they are the two roles I shine the most in (all my POTG's have been on Mercy or Reinhardt with the exception of that one Tolbjorn POTG I had. I never thought I'd hear myself say this either because I absolutely hate playing Healing/Tank roles in MMO's). I also enjoy playing Genji and Hanzo when I get a chance to play a damage roll, D.VA is a fun change from Reinhardt when I want a faster tank, Lucio is an extremely fun change from Mercy when you want to be the mobile heal station that can also kill people (he's my go to for Control maps), and Tolbjorn is fun just because he can be such a troll character it's not funny.

  17. Bastion is actually a pretty overused hero at the moment for defensive teams or at least he has been when I've played (almost every defensive team I play against has at least one and he's usually in a spot that he can't be easily shot out of (unless you have a good Widowmaker or Hanzo)). As DX said he's pretty much the hard counter for Reinhardt (as we found out Friday night, he tore through DX's shield like it was paper and his attack chews through Reinhardt making it difficult for Mercy's heals to keep up with) and since Reinhardt is pretty much the go to tank you'll usually see a Bastion on the opposing team. If I had to say he's probably the most OP hero in the game atm (but only if he's in the right hands, I completely fail at playing him so it's not like anybody can just pick him up and be good with him) but not OP in a way that he breaks the game.

I think, by what I've noticed, POTG is given to the character who actually changes the tide of battle in the favor of their team. My example for this goes back to my POTG when we played together. I got POTG for rezzing 4 people on the capture point which ultimately lead to use capturing the point and starting the escort. I could be wrong but every POTG I see seems to have something to do with a major play that helps the team out in a big way. Sure wiping a team helps but it doesn't exactly change the situation any. Like I said I could be wrong but everything I've seen seems to lead to this (I mean getting of POTG as Mercy for rezzing four people isn't exactly a great play if you ask me but it did turn our bad luck around and pushed us forward with the objective).

Welcome to my world Sledge. I want nothing more then to try out more offensive characters but I feel I need to take up the support role because no one else does it. While playing with DX I did get to try out other, more damaged focused roles (as well as other support and tank rolls) but I still feel I need to play as Mercy or Reinhardt because the team focuses on damage. Plus I actually get more enjoyment out of playing Mercy. Yea I don't get kills and I'm pretty much worthless once my team is dead but I feel I contribute more toward the group through healing and buffing and ultimately I'm the main reason we win because without a healer your team is pretty much fucked (yea my ego has inflated a little but I'm just so damn good at playing Mercy). Gotta remember you can have an awesome tank and awesome damage but who keeps those people alive, the healer damnit.

  18. I have to say that since getting access to the beta last night is the most fun I've had playing it. Having a friend or two to team up with totally makes this game worth playing (as long as those randoms you get stuck with understand teamwork). The two of us definitely made a huge difference on those matches we won due to our teamwork (I gotta say I'm damn good at playing as Mercy when I got a great tank and team behind me). I also agree, they need to label the maps with what mode you're playing. Considering the beta has only been accessible for most players for 2 days it's ridiculous to expect us to remember what maps correspond with certain game modes. Makes it really hard to decide you're team make up or just to know what character you should play to begin with. I honestly don't know what that Reinhardt was thinking last night, going for kills over protecting his team. I think he only ended up with 3 or 4 kills which totally was not worth it when you consider how badly we got our asses handed to us. I won't even get started on that Zenyatta and that Mercy was a pain in the ass.

I've noticed that we have a multi-Tracer problem on PS4 besides the multi-Reaper. We really didn't run into it last night but while I was playing on Thursday almost every team I was on had at least 2 Tracers. While she's a great hero in the right hands most people don't even know how to effectively play her. Multi-Widowmakers is extremely rare on PS4, most of the time you'll see a Hanzo/Widowmaker team since both are extremely good snipers.

After last night I might pick this up just for the rare occasion we get the chance to play together. This is definitely one of those games that requires friends to play with (at least for me). As I said it's a fun game but it brings out my COD rage when I play alone or on a team of idiots.

  19. My problems with this is they're shooting for a new, mature audience. Do they not realize this audience will be the one that grew up watching this when they were younger. In my opinion there's no right way to do this (like with SW) because you're going to have old fans whining about every little thing they change (Rita does not look good, she didn't look good to begin with but her old look is so much better). Plus this won't be Power Rangers without the original cast (which will be quite hard as the original yellow ranger is dead).

I'll give it a shot depending on what the trailer looks like but this is honestly a bad idea.

  20. I'm a little worried since this team is only know for FPS games. Makes me think this will end up becoming another Battlefront style game down the line (which, after DICE's fuck ups, is something no SW fan wants unless it's done right). However, this could be our hopes of getting the scrapped SW 1313 game or at least a game of a similar premise (a man can hope, 1313 was looking to be the best SW game to come out in years had it actually gotten off the ground (I was extremely hyped for it)).
