    Dude. Everyone is panicing over this. Yeah, it can be serious, but it's really not that much more dangerous than the regular flu. In fact, a regular flu shot, while not completly protecting you, can boost your body's defense against swine flu. That, and taking the normal regular precautions you would during flu season, and you'll be fine. It's the ones that get sick and then don't take care of themselves that end up spreading it and making things worse.

  4. actually, that mid-season break was because of the writer's strike.....though, it was delayed since it was supposed to come back in april....><....
  5. Eureka will also be playing on hulu a few days after it's scifi showing, so I get to keep watching it! *happy dance*
  6. Went and saw it today. And, had very low expectations going in. Which may be why I kinda liked it. It had lots of shiny explosions, and even though the random plots were bascily thrown into a blender with some tan filters and lens flares as an excuse to have action sequences and blow more things up (i'm guessing a blender, because towards the end, i honestly can't tell you most of what happened), for a summer movie, it wasn't bad. I don't feel like I wasted my time. It also had some good funny parts (and not stupid funny. well, except for those damn twins. i really wanted them to DIE in a very HORRIBLE fashon. like in that Voltron blender ) Anyways, I enjoyed it on a primal level for all the things that blew up and Prime looking really awesome. I wasn't a huge Transformers fan, so I can't comment on the discrepencies or anything like that. I would suggest considering this AU and moving on. This is Hollywood. And a 'remake' of a classic 80's cartoon. I have VERY low standards for that simply because I have yet to see one that I thought was made well and in the spirit of the original. In fact, these two movies are the only ones that haven't sucked balls so badly it made me want to stab my eyes out. If you want something better, write it yourself and and find a studio and director to make it. As for reviews, this is the best one I've seen, since it's a pretty accurate description of the movie. And speaking of 80's cartoon remakes, it had the G.I. Joe trailer. And I wouldn't have known that's what it was without the title since I can't honestly see how it connected to G.I. Joe. But it has Christopher Eccleston (the Ninth Doctor from Dr. Who) as Destro, which amuses me to NO END and means I have to go see it, no matter how much it sucks.
  7. Which is why I don't pay attention to online petitions. Even well meaning ones that I agree will be ignored simply because of the sheer amount that are out there, as well as the ease of which 'signatures' can be forged. Even the stock letters to congressmen/senators/etc. get ignored. Every time I've tried to send one, I get back some form letter saying that I shouldn't be so gullable to believe what I see on the internet with a stamped signature, which tells me that it just gets put into the circular file instead of being read by the person it was sent to. There's a buffer layer between you and your congressman that seems to get thicker every year, which makes it harder to get your voice heard.
  8. The problem with wind power is that it tends to cut out during peak usage. It does help, and is actually a good alternitave for someone's house, but until storage and transmission of collected energy gets better, it's not viable for big business yet.
  9. Thing is, I thought he did good as Sam in Transformers. But now, he seems like Sam all the time. Like Orlando Bloom was great as Legloas, but now every role he does is like Legolas without the ears.

  11. January 20 is my favorite Winamp skin. It's nice and clean and comes with TONS of color combos. Plus, it shrinks down to a small window that you can work around with no trouble. I still use Trillian, but I don't bother with skinning it. I can't find one I like, and I've been too lazy to make my own. ^^;
  12. Intel tend to shut down before damage from heat happens. AMD isn't as good about that, and when they fail from heat, there's not as much chance of recovery by replacing the cooling system. But as long as you have a good cooling system, there should be no trouble. They only time I've had a problem is when my cooling fan failed and I didn't realize it right away.
  13. oooooo.....shiney..... Seriously, though, I've never had problems with AMD. You will definatlly need a very good cooling fan for it, but in my experience, an AMD CPU will perform just as well as it's equvilant Intell, for a lower price.
  14. The first one's really good, but I don't know what the second one is. *sheepish look* It kinda looks like Batman with Cloud's sword.
  15. ...And Buffy staked Edward. The end. I so want that shirt.
  16. Well, it's a major resource hog, much more than XP, it's got a great deal of Microsoft sanctioned spyware, it's not as stable as XP was when it was new, and it just an all around pain in the ass. It's kinda like Windows ME was to 98.
  17. Stick with XP for now. I've been hearing good things about the next Windows OS, so I may try that one at some point, but Vista is more trouble than it's worth.
  18. Not all of us, thank you very much. Which is the main reason my experience in dating is few and far in between.
