  1. Well yesterday was fun. Had really bad abdominal pain and ended up in the ER only to find out I had acute appendicitis and had to have surgery (all in all spent 10 hours in the ER, got home at 4:30 this morning). Now I'm in pain and out of work for at least a week. At least I get Vicadin as my pain killer (whenever my mother pucks the prescription up, I can't drive for the next week so yea).

Guess it's time to get caught up on my anime and game backlogs.

  2. Got a Galaxy S8+ today. So far I like it a lot. My other phone had too many issues in the end, and it all probably has to do with being an unlocked phone. I know these companies alter the software on their devices to run more smoothly with their networks while at the same time forcing you to buy from them. 15 years ago it wasn't that way. But with how complex the software has become, its pretty easy to fix the system in your favor. When the rep tried to look up my phone for trade in value it has none. XD He was so confused himself.

  4. I finished LoTR: The Fellowship of the Ring yesterday. Great novel, but if I ever read it again I'll skip the first 150 pages of hobbit only adventures. lol. After that chunk the book turned out to be great. And the fan theory about Gandalf telling them "fly you fools" as in get to the eagles is debunked to me. Theory:

In the novel the word 'fly' was used as the word run in multiple instances. It was just the writing style. I'm glad they kept that scene like that in the movie, but Gandalf had no secret meaning when he said that. He was simply telling them to run for their f*cking lives or they'd all die in Moria.

  5. Finally got caught up on my backlog of Marvel movies over the last two weeks (well the backlog of ones I wanted to watch, the only one's I haven't seen are Thor 2, Homecoming (which I will watch eventually), Ant Man (no real interest in seeing it) and I've only seen half of the first Captain America). Will say things make a lot more sense now in the big picture after getting them watched, thoughts below:

Winter Soldier: As much as I hat Cap I really enjoyed this movie and when my friend said shit hit the fan he wasn't kidding. I finally understand why Shield wasn't around in Avengers 2 (I really had no idea what was going on since I never watched the TV show and I really had no interest in watching Winter Soldier until recently) so a lot of my questions about certain things were finally answered. Really like how it played out more like a spy/action flick then a superhero flick, definitely one of my favorites in the the Marvel verse behind GoG 1 & 2 and Civil War.

Civil War: Good god I really enjoyed this movie though I do feel like the whole movie focused more on Cap and Stark's underlying past issues (and personal issues) then it did on the real issues at hand (it really felt more like a Cap obsessing over Bucky and Stark reliving his daddy issues more then a flick about a superhuman civil war). Have to say I'm completely pumped to see the Black Panther flick, after seeing him in Civil War I'm sold on him (great actor choice and the character alone is really interesting). I have a ton of questions and theories now about how Infinity War is going to play out (can anyone say Nomad).

Doctor Strange: I honestly didn't know about this one and based on the reviews I had seen about it I wasn't even sure if I'd like it. Glad to say I'm wrong. Though I really don't like Strange (his attitude rubs me the wrong way) I really enjoyed the movie (fucking trippy as hell). Considering I knew nothing of this character I thought it was a really good origin story for the character (yes I know the actual origin story but for the MCU this is actually a great introduction). I have some issues with the movie (like a lot of people) but I'm interested to see what his role is in the MCU going forward (especially considering the Infinity War movies are going to reset the MCU (or at least kill off quite a few heroes)).

Guardians 2: Watched this last night and I absolutely loved it, tied for favorite Marvel movie with Guardians 1. Brought back all of the charm and humor from the first one and backed it up with a pretty serious story. Was great to see how the interactions between all the characters have evolved from the first one and yes Baby Groot was fucking adorable (the beginning of the movie was freaking cute with him dancing, yes I said cute (get over it)). Overall the movie was a fun ride and the ending, while sad, was a great way to send off such a great character (even if he was an ass).

So yea, gotta say the Marvel movies are really impressing me considering my general distaste for superheroes (I'm sorry my heroes as a kid were the Ninja Turtles, Transformers, and G.I. Joe. Superheroes never realy interested me, men in tight spandex beating up other men in similar costumes just seemed wrong). As I said above I'm really looking forward to the Black Panther movie and after finally watching Civil War I'm really looking forward to seeing how things play out in the Infinity War movies.

  6. Tried to get back into No Man's Sky after the big patch... nah. They took away the boost jump. Having to constantly get back in your ship to take off and refill the booster fuel because the planet is hazardous is tedious. Your 2 levels of protection upgrades last all of 10 seconds before eating away at your shield is annoying annoying enough and wasn't buffed. They took away on foot mobility, so you can't go very far outside your ship or shelter unless its a rare planet that doesn't have a hot/cold/caustic/radioactive hazard. At least with that boost jump you could quickly get back to your ship or find shelter for your protection to recharge. Its just not for me.

  8. With GW2s new draw distances, Ive noticed a few improvements in the core game, where map textures load further out, but Southsun Cove is a wreck. XD I went there for the first time in a long time for the daily JP and the increased draw makes some parts look funky and incomplete. After thinking about it for a minute while running around, i realized because the horizon is just a solid blue color making the distant textures look odd as if the map was incomplete. It could be the filter I'm running on SweetFX, but its def bizarre. Its the only map like that, that I've noticed. Maybe because its pretty flat and a plateau.

  9. RIP Jerry Lewis. I remember watching Dean Martin/Jerry Lewis movies when I was young. He made me laugh as a child.

  10. I got an interesting email from Amazon about something called the Carnivore Club. It looks pretty neat, but damn It's too expensive for my comfort. I'll probably sign up for 1 month and cancel just to get a box. I've never been apart of any subscription box service before because I don't need random junk every month that I might or might not like. But I can eat this stuff, that all looks really delicious. If I could afford $55 a month for some snack meats, I'd do it. XD What caused me to post about this was the fact that it has two 1 star reviews written by angry vegans posting about how sick and disgusting it was, and how they are promoting cancer and cardiovascular disease. XD

I remember back in the day I always looked forward to Christmas because we use to get those boxes with all the cured meats and smoked cheeses in them. They're pretty hard to find now, at least in the quality that they were back then. Now you just get some basic summer sausage and Kraft tier cheese. The Carnivore Club reminds me of the old fancy ones minus the cheese.... hmmm I wonder if there is a cheese club? O_O

  11. Settled on a 1060 card... paid $100 more than what it was selling for a few months ago, but I'm left with no choice with how my current card is acting at times. I basically only every play GW2 anyways an its good enough for it.

  12. I ended up spending my entire weekend cleaning my basement. Theres a good chance I might be moving to a different house in a month or so and I wanted to make sure the move would go smooth. Its amazing how much junk accumulates in a basement. I was planning on playing some gw2 this weekend.. and it never happened. XD

  14. Chalice of Tears is one of the most hateful things Anet has ever done. To make you do it twice or even three times if you didn't want the anomaly taking up inventory space is even worse. Even the last section is an insane jump that if you mess it up you'd have to start all over again. Thankfully I was able to run the port group twice today to get the worst part of this legendary trinket collection out of the way. -_-; Ports were very rare as this content got older, and it will def become that way again after the expac launches.

  16. My PS3 died today. :( It was one of my favorite consoles of all time and the best bluray player ever. I tried everything to fix it except buy a new power adapter. If I buy a multimeter I can test it to see if thats the issue or not. But I'll probably be better off putting the $30 that would cost towards a newer model refurbished one. I would just get another ps4 for my living room, but I still have a bunch of ps3 games I still want to eventually play.

  17. Whether you were a big fan or not today is a tragic loss for the music world. Chester Bennington, lead singer and front man for Linkin Park, was found dead today at 41.

I was a huge LP fan when I was younger (though I sort of lost touch with them over the years, their music past Meteora was so so) so this hits pretty hard for me. Their music, his music, helped me through a lot.

RIP Chester, though you're gone your music and message will always remain.

  18. My new kitten Maggie is not giving me an ounce of privacy or free time. x_x We have been slowly integrating her in with our dogs and after the last couple days they seem to be getting along just fine now. We had to take her to the vet a few days ago to check her spay operation from the shelter. It was slightly infected. -_-; She got antibiotics, a fresh staple and has had a cone on her head since then and it won't come off for another week. She likes to knock over everything and almost spilled my glass of water on my laptop. x_x

  19. The power of friendship prevails in Fairy Tail and the bad guy was defeated. -_-; *slow clap* One chapter left for the epilogue. This guy hasn't drawn a hentai inspired chapter in a long while so I'm going to assume it'll end with a bunch of fan service at this point.

  20. So I preordered the standard edition of Destiny 2. I'll let you know if downloading the Beta is worth it since I'll get early access. I have a feeling there might not be any open world like D1. They haven't shown any at all if you think about it. They'll probably just be a strike, the first mission, and PvP. I hope I'm wrong, because I'd rather just run around a map and test out weapons more than anything else.

  21. One year later my Cinch Controller is still running strong. I'm glad I went with this over Scuf. Scuf is the most popular, but they seem to be Xbox experts... even then I hear their paddles break within a year or less. Overwatch is what I've used to utilize on the most. Nier Automata is another but its not competitive. Every shooter I play I swap the right stick to crouch and O to melee. Being able to jump and melee without taking your fingers of the sticks has been a huge advantage. It at least helps you close the gap on 2 of the 3 advantages those mouse/keyboard modders have on console FPS. It's baffling how Sony and MS haven't cut Cinch, Scuff, Sharq, and all the others out of the equation by making their own controllers with programmable under-buttons.
