  1. BoTW took Game of the Year award and its well deserved, but I'm also glad NieR: Automata got best musical score, because its very well deserved.

If I ever get a switch, BoTW will be the first game I buy.

I figured but I still, personally, don't think BoTW deserves game of the year. Not only is it a safe title for Nintendo it's not even an original IP. If anything Horizon deserved GotY but then again it didn't even stand a chance which saddens me because it's a brilliantly designed game with an amazing soundtrack and story. Damn Nintendo fanboys (I'm j/k btw, I've seen the entirety of BoTW with the exception of the ending and even I admit it's a well designed game and one Nintendo knocked out of the park but sadly since it's Zelda it was guaranteed the GotY award because of nostalgia. No other game ever stood a chance).

  2. Chalice of Tears is one of the most hateful things Anet has ever done. To make you do it twice or even three times if you didn't want the anomaly taking up inventory space is even worse. Even the last section is an insane jump that if you mess it up you'd have to start all over again. Thankfully I was able to run the port group twice today to get the worst part of this legendary trinket collection out of the way. -_-; Ports were very rare as this content got older, and it will def become that way again after the expac launches.

Once you get the tokens done the Zinn should only take you a little more than an hour. I did CoT right before I got off last night, it was the same guy, he ran runs all day every hour. But a second train started from another group right when we were almost done.

I finished the Siren's Landing JP tonight, and it actually wasn't bad at all. It had one of my least favorite things in landing on precise slim poles, but I some how made every landing. There are two check points marked by waterlogged chests. Since you got to cheat on the Searing Accent without having to use them, they work by special action key if you fall, you can just use it to teleport back to the chest. I think if you die it goes away though. But there shouldn't be any reason to die since you can glide. The second and last check point is half way through the JP though so you basically have to do half of it with the most pole jumps between that and the end. I did it on my DD, when I normally do these on my mesmer for portal insurance. I was brave. XD You should def portal scroll your mes since the JP is right near the start. Either way it was the least frustrating next to the Doric puzzle if you can call that a JP. I actually did most of it by myself only referring to the dulfy video when I wasn't 100% sure.

  3. Checked my crafting station with the mind set of making ascended armor for the first time. I was able to craft 2 more pieces for my Guardian. I just need to save up more damask to get the last 3. I might as well get it done before they increase the requirements more. It's been a while since I spent all day on GW2.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I have 2 pieces of ascended armor on my warrior from ascended armor drops from fractals (i know at least 1 was from fractals, can't remember about the other). But I've been doing fractals off and on for over a year. And I thought it'd be a good way to farm ascended armor. jokes on me. x_x

  4. Cleared BF4, Blops 3, and The Division off my HD to make way for the Titanfall 2 and BF1 betas. I only had 40gb of free space left before i did so. Now I have 180gb.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

All I have right now is 40gb too. I'm hesitant to delete BF4, but I haven't played it in over a month again and with BF1 coming out I doubt I'll play it again. Once I see a 2tb slim hdd on sale for $60 again I'm going to buy one just to upgrade my ps4 and turn the ps4 500gb hard drive into an external for my pc. Its getting annoying to decide what games to delete when 2 people use the system.

    2. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

Meh, I can't bring myself to take BF4 off considering I do still play it from time to time. I did take The Division off though since I don't ever see myself going back to it. I'm sitting at 80 gigs free now, should be enough for now.

  5. Condi'ed out my Rev WvW style. I need 2 earrings and I'll be fully ascended. Cost me 400g to do for the armor. I already had the mace/axe/staff to stat swap. I didn't get to test it out because I spent 4 hours farming AB for Superior Runes of Durability. But it gave me a chance to learn the class more. I have 20k HP, a ton of toughness, and I can rack up 4k ticks of torment and confusion on vets. Getting rolled on by arrowheads only takes 15% of my HP. XD I can't wait to give this a shot tomorrow night with what I have.

I'm surprised you actually saw Cloud Fly die. XD Use berserker stance for the resistance to negate condi damage and try to go berserk mode as much as possible since the eternal champion trait will give you stability whenever you break a stun and enter berserk mode. Thats how I secure alot of stomps in pvp with my warrior. Headbutt alone is a stun break so I usually get stability from it, then it hits, activate berserk for even more stability. I don't have to dedicate any utilities for stability with that eternal champ trait. :D

    3. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Yeah I'm sticking with Dire Guard... this shit is so OP it should be illegal. XD Purging Flames does 10k damage? WTF? I nuked some guy overlooking a gate we were flame ramming. He didn't expect it and just got insta downed and melted. I have 22.5k HP. I played for a little bit in JQBL with a small squad of about 7. Is always fun when someone comes to attack you like a DD, thinking your an AH Frontline, and you drop that burn on them and they freak out and run away. I watched 3 people just run from me when I dropped purging flames on them. Most of the time it kills them if they aren't a warrior or rev. XD I had a Warrior do GS3 off a ledge just so I couldn't get his bag. Judges Intervention also adds to it as well, because I got someone that was with him and jumped on their corpse thinking they could 2v1 me. XD

I tried to play in a big zerg on EB, but I couldn't get into the squad because it was full. I did ok, but I wasn't getting any of the group support so when my stability and cleanse ran out I often got gravity welled... damn FA loves their mesmers. Its pretty annoying... the whole condi meta is a bit absurd. I'd die and WP only to have 5-6 bags in my inventory from people that died from my flame nuke. WvW should really be put on its own mode with a PvP type class builder. Burn guard is way more OP in WvW than it is in PvP. I mean, I can launch 5k ticks of burning without purging flames. Condi needs to be toned down a lot, but I'll keep abusing the shit out of it until its fixed. Dire gear is super cheap... and the trinkets are cheap too because Tequatl's fang and Amulet of Triple Curiosity are both Dire. The rings are 3g each, and you'll spend about 6-7g on the armor. Luckily I kept the 2 level 80 back pieces from the druid stone asc back collection and got a exotic dire back going too. I could give the other one to my necro if i wanted to try Dire Reaper.

    4. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I should work on that druid back piece. I completely threw that to the back burner and forgot all about it. I'll probably buy another blood ruby backpack and blood ruby amulet tho and use those instead since they are quasi legendary. I can select dire (or trailblazer) stats on them and if I ever want to change it, it only costs 100 UB to buy the capacitor to stat swap it. Its one of the main reasons I do 2 bsf dailies every day. Once the next expansion comes out and if viper, or celestial or commander, etc. becomes the meta for guardian, I'll quickly have a back, amulet and earring stat swapped and ready to go. Same with all my other characters. I'm trying to get at least half of them setup with these 3 bloodstone ascended items each.

  7. Dropped a ton of cash on a Daniel Defense DDM4V11. Figured I'd go ahead and take the hit before the assault weapon ban talk gets hot or some other ass hat decides to go shoot people.

  8. Facebook's trending feed is such garbage. If you see a topic you're interested its clickbait 99% of the time. I saw Destiny pop up today, so I figured it may be a negative or positive article on what ever is happening with the game... nope "Two people get engaged from playing Destiny". WTF who cares?

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

lol. and because you clicked it, its now trending more for other people. XD

  9. FINALLY made Platinum on Overwatch comp. Went on a 6 win 1 draw streak after the opening match was a loss. Once the team scores start averaging 2500 Its so much better. They honestly need to scrap the algorithm that ranks you lower on purpose after placement matches. 2300 and below is horrific with idiotic picks. Once I got past my season high and hit the mid 2400's the team comp and matches were insanely different and way more competitive. Elo Hell is a real thing for solo q, I don't care what Force Gaming says or anyone else. You can't make much of a difference when someone is picking a bad pick on attack. Damn I'm thrilled right now.

Grats (just noticed this, these 10 hour days are slowly killing my brains ability to function).

XD, that's pretty much QP picks in the lower levels.

  10. Finished Coyote Ragtime Show, it was a really fun watch. It would have been better as a 24 ep anime. It felt a little rushed in places due to squeezing everything into 12... a lot of great action though. Now I'm watching Assassination Classroom which has been pretty good so far.

  11. Finished Darling in the Franxx today. Its definitely not for everyone. It starts out confused to what it is. A lot of people could give up on it after the first few eps. What's seemingly a corny mecha series with horny teens quickly evolves into an interesting and mysterious world were a group of kids try to find their place on society and struggle to cope with their emotions. Lately, I've been unintentionally watching series with slow build ups that lead to big payoffs and this is one of them. Having to wait each week for a new episode deprived me of the instant gratification or lack there of I'm accustomed to. The series ends without answering a lot of questions and adding a few more about the actual social structure and why the world is the way it is. But the questions about Hiro's issues and his explainable connection to 002 are all resolved. The animators of Gurren Lagann did this series, and it's easy to see that. Instead of a over the top epic tale, we get a darker world with mysterious creatures that probably wont be explained until next season.

      DeathscytheX

XD kotaku actually did an article about how weird it was and then two more articles later their opinion evolved.

  12. Finished Fafner. It felt like an Evangelion wannabe with an ending similar to Eureka 7. I really wanted to like it, but it was just "ok" really. The only interesting thing about the series was how many pilots died throughout it, and how many mechas were lost. They didn't go hand and hand though. Some of the mechas were piloted by multiple people, while some were lost with their pilots. What was most unrealistic to me was how they all lived in isolation on an island, but seemly had unlimited resources to restock their defenses and repair mechas that lost limbs. XD I'll watch the movie later to see if it redeems the series in anyway for me.

    1. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

I thought it was a great show, then again I did watch it back when it aired 12 years ago and haven't watched it since. There were a lot of things I wished they'd of elaborated on while I watched it but it was pretty entertaining overall. There was nothing to salvage after battles Sledge, the enemies weren't human nor did they pilot mechs (they're called Festum and are created by the Mir, what they exactly are is hard to explain) and yes it does take place mostly on the island (some eps take place outside of the island but the majority of it pertains to the islands defenses).

I have yet to watch Heaven and Earth, it's been on my watch list forever and it's buried somewhere on my passport. You'll have to let me know how it is when you watch it. Right of Left was pretty damn good (prequel OVA). I also need to get around to watching Exodus as well but that'll have to wait till after I watch the movie (as it takes place two years after Heaven and Earth).

    2. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Yeah the Festum and Mir could have used more depth instead of everyone sulking about Shoko. I guess I didn't care too much for the characters. I didn't really understand the whole Soshi's eye thing, maybe I missed it looking at my phone, but they seemed to refer to it a lot without explaining what actually happened. The main character leaving with the Neo-UN defector seemed half assed, and his quasi-assimilation seemed cheap since he got all fixed up by info given to them by a Festum. It wasn't a bad show. I just wanted more I guess.

    3. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

I don't even think they go into more depth in the movie or the 2nd series but that was my major problem with the series. The creators dropped the ball on explaining what these beings were (outside of servants of the Mir, who also didn't get any explanation). It's been so long I don't even remember anything about what happened to Soshi (I think he was merging with the system he used to help the pilots, I don't know).

When it aired it was a good show, now maybe not so much. I should probably give it a rewatch to see if it holds up in my book, I've become quite the anime snob in recent years.

  13. Finished Linebarrels of Iron. It was an enjoyable Mecha anime. Although I feel the trend of a main character tapping into a incredible power, only to look weak in a fight unless they have an emotionally traumatic moment is getting old. It seems to be the most overused cliche in all of anime.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Thanks for the heads up about the Eureka Seven AO. I'll pass on that. I watched The Legend of Legendary Heroes, but I can't remember the ending, except that the last 4 or 5 episodes turned into disappointment. I've heard good things about One Punch Man. I looked at some of the manga and everyone appears to be adults and theres a bunch of DBZ style action and even some gore. I think I'll watch this one next.

    2. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

One Punch Man is a parody I believe. The main character is so OP he's constantly bored. You don't remember the ending for LoLH because there wasn't one. -_-; it ended with the massive legion matching to battle and that was it. I just started Gangsta and so far it's good.

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Oh that must be it. lol. I'm pretty certain One Punch man is a parody, but the fights that hes not in is what apparently makes the anime good. His side kick guy is some cyberneticaly enhanced bad ass that has amazing fights. Same with a bunch of other fighters, but theres no real tension in the series because that One Punch Man literally just kills everyone in 1 hit. Its the main reason I've avoided it, but after looking at a couple manga chapters, its really got my attention now.

  14. Finished up GARO before my impending BF1 binge. I didn't realize there was an actual live action show, until I looked it up because I thought it was odd it was listed as GARO: The Animation. Anyways, it was enjoyable overall. I've seen the premise used a few times before, but the fights were bad ass. Its one of the few Hybrid-CGI looking anime that I feel worked well. I'll always prefer the classic style, but CGI effects become more popular as time goes on, probably because it's cheaper to produce.

  15. Finished up HPs in VB and then caught a train in AB. I'm 60 HPs away from completing my scrapper. The hammer play is pretty cool, I need all my gyros to get the full experience.

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

The HPs in HoT are still champions. I thought they were changing them to vets like most the events, but I guess not. I was able to solo the communes surrounded by vets by spamming nade kit, but I was lucky enough to catch the champion HPs in progress. I don't know how people enjoy base engineer. its such a massive rotation that is all ground targeted with ass for mobility. I guess I'm so use to being able to faceroll with DH and Reaper, or the high mobility of Ranger and Mesmer with their stamina regen traits/skills. Engi has some great damage, but you can't afford to take as much punishment as other classes like Warrior/Reaper/Rev.

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Interesting. Whats your setup so far? Hammer, rifle, double pistols? You can only equip a couple of kits at a time right? like flamethrower and grenades?

    3. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Rifle is meta fo base, but it's laughable. You stay in nade kit and rotate 1-5 F1-5. I'm probably never gonna run fractals or raids with her so I'll use the power hammer build on meta battle. I already invested in zerk gear before the condi update.

  16. Finished World Completion on my thief. It was a more bearable slow process of doing a map a day here and there, rather than hardcoring it. I'll probably do my Engi next because she's around 30%. I doubt I'll ever do full MC on HoT, but I have been doing them on the LS maps. Hoping someone can help on HP for the HoT maps is just too discouraging. Its easy enough to get enough of them done solo or with the help of 1 random for an elite spec, but others are much harder to find help for, even HP trains avoid them.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

The HPs in HoT are bullshit IMO. Map completion should be accomplishable solo. I thought they were going to change that over 6 months ago but they never did. Especially the hero points that are in the middle of nowhere that requires masteries to even get to, with a champ event tied to it. wtf. I've been playing these maps alot more over the last month and I still have no idea how to actually get to the Guano HP in Verdant Brink without looking at a youtube video. Even if someone says in map chat "doing guano hp, help please?" by the time I get there that person has either died and can't figure out how to get back up, the night time event finished and its not possible to get there without additional masteries that person might not have unlocked, or they got so frustrated they left the area. The new LS maps are great and has given me encouragement that anet is going down a different path of game design.. because if the newer maps were anything like the HoT maps I wouldn't even play them. I don't know what the new expansion will be like but I highly doubt I'll pre-order it until I find out if the maps are actually going to fun or just frustrating as all hell with 4 contested waypoints again with everything tied off behind masteries and more mastery points that are only obtainable by having pre-existing masteries. I really like Ember Bay, you can go everywhere but if you have the lava tube mastery you can get there faster. Enjoyable content without frustration and a nice convenience boost once you get the mastery. Unlike HoT maps that block you off everywhere you go. With my casual playing of it, a year later I finally have enough HoT masteries done that I can finally attempt map completion of those maps.. a year later. wtf.

  17. Finished Yona of the Dawn. I really hope they make a season 2. The story was really good, and leaves so many questions to be answered. the animation was stunningly beautiful too.

  18. Funimation started the dubcast of the Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These. Apparently it's a reboot of the 1988 series Legend of the Galactic Heroes. Never saw the original, but the first two episodes has me pretty impressed. If this series is full of huge 5000-10k ship battles using old school formations and tactics I'll def be hooked. Since the original was over 100 eps, I hope I don't get The Legend of Legendary Hero'ed here after season 1. XD-_-;

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Lmao. I was expecting a season 2 of legend of legendary heroes and it never happened. So disappointing even now.

    2. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

I know wtf. That end of season one was such a cliff hanger. -_-; So much build up and no resolution. I tell everyone that asks me about series to watch to completely avoid that one unless you just want to be let down immensely.

  19. GANTZ:O is on Netflix. I wasn't aware of its existence. Its pretty good, but you'd appreciate it more if you watched the original series. I thought it was a sequel or prequel movie at first and then I realized some of the same characters are in it, but its discombobulated in their relationship with each other. They flip the main character roll to someone else, and make the original main character look like a decent guy when he was just a whiny prick in the original. XD

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Probably the main character being a whiney bitch. XD

    2. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

He's part of the reason but there's more to it than him (in fact I hated most of the characters to begin with, most of them were annoying and none of them really brought anything to the show). Honestly I just didn't feel it was that great of a show, entertaining yes but I feel other shows with similar premises did better jobs then this show at selling me (Mirai Nikki (I forget its English name but I know you've seen it), while not exactly the same premise, is a much better show then this and it plays its own death game (though for a different prize)).

    3. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Yeah Future Diary is superior in every way. I guess I just tend to like death game shows altogether. It's also one of Funi's worst dubs. The Movie is better in a lot of ways even though it's CG. But sadly it's just one mission.

      DeathscytheX

XD What? That was a great ep. LMAO I think he was suppose to be euthanize, but in the end he was saved because his handler fell into a river or something, and he saved her. Chimps can't swim, but since Sam did as a chimp, they wanted to study him more, saving his life. XD

rotflmao! XD Now I have to watch this episode on netflix. XD

  21. Got a Galaxy S8+ today. So far I like it a lot. My other phone had too many issues in the end, and it all probably has to do with being an unlocked phone. I know these companies alter the software on their devices to run more smoothly with their networks while at the same time forcing you to buy from them. 15 years ago it wasn't that way. But with how complex the software has become, its pretty easy to fix the system in your favor. When the rep tried to look up my phone for trade in value it has none. XD He was so confused himself.

    1. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

Good choice in phone, got mine a little over a month ago and love it (though I'd of rather had a Note).

    2. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

I wanted a note at first, but more power paired with less battery was the deciding factor to go against it. I always have to opt with more battery. Maybe it won't matter, but I'm done taking chances on battery life. lol

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I'm still sitting here with my S7 a year later and my battery is lasting pretty much as long as it did when I first got it. I'll give it to samsung, they got decent batteries for these S7s.. those S7 notes that kept exploding however.. ehh. I'm glad they got their crap together seeing as I've heard nothing but great reviews for the S8 and S8+.

  22. Got caught up on a few of the Simuldub's Funimation is running. Basilisk: the Ouka Ninja Scrolls caught my eye since I did enjoy the original. So far the action is pretty good. It takes place 10 years after the first one ended... or so it says until there is a time jump after the 4th episode. Its very different from the first as its more of your standard ninja anime rather than some tragic love story. I'm glad it did the time jump though because I was feeling like it was gonna be another "kids beat adult fodder" type thing. I also started Darling in the Franxx since it's getting so much hype. Its basically Gurren Lagann style animation with a ton of sexual innuendo. Its catering to my craving for a mecha series so far.

  23. Great, now java updates feature an automatic download of Amazon Assist that you have to uncheck the box with. -_-; Thats as annoying as Flash wanting to install McAfee every update.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I hate that double install BS. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't always checked to auto install.

  24. Grimgar Fantasy and Ash, the only anime I've ever watched that punched you in the feels 4 episodes in.

    1. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

Never even heard of it (another one that slipped by me), just got done reading a summary of it on Wikipedia. It actually sounds a lot like Log Horizon just in a different world and different circumstances (sounds like the main character is trapped in the world by himself with all the NPCs). I'll have to see if I can find fansubs for it as well, definitely sounds like a show I'd like.

The memory thing is actually a major part of the story later on in Season 2 when the players actually start realizing they're loosing their memories every time they die. At first its nothing major (insignificant stuff like names of places they used to visit and what not) but as they continue to die more and more memories disappear and they start turning into mindless Thralls (which is covered in the season 2 during one of the story arcs) who can think of nothing more then dieing in combat to get back home.

I'm almost done with Overlord. Meh. It's interesting enough to finish, but the main character and all his NPCs are so OP there hasn't been any real fights or sense of danger through out the whole thing.

I finished it last night. If there was a season 2, I'd watch it. After doing a bit of research on the light novel, the story sounds pretty good. The pace of the light novel is going to cause issues as its not even finished yet and its been going since 2012. This first season was just a really long introduction to the story. I feel like this anime shouldn't have come out for another 5 years. I also learned that Tokyo Ghoul basically Fullmetal Alchemisted it's manga... which would explain why its so shit IMO.

The Japanese take a totally different approach to making anime than the west does with TV shows or Movies (Minus TWD). It seems the Manga/Light Novel gets hot, and they immediately have to start making anime off of it and pump out episodes until they run out of material. Then they choose whether to make the right decision and wait, or say  "fuck this original content" and fuck it up more often than not. Also from what I understand, new season are solely based off DVD sales rather than TV raitings and advertisement revenue like here. I get most of it, but I dont get the jumping the gun so fast on these manga's. Its irritating to wait years for another season via Attack on Titan.

  25. Holy cow there seems to be a subscription crate for everything now. AC Filters, Clothes, Bras, Candy, etc. XD I actually just signed up for Umai Crate. It seems to be the most unique and best value. Its just a box full of different Japanese instant ramens. I'll report if its any better than the cheap shitty ramen you can get at the grocery store. For $25 a month, the box seems to be full of 7-9 bags/boxes/cups of various types. If I'm not impressed with the first box, I'll cancel it and feel like it was worth trying something interesting. I watched a few youtube unboxings and taste tests and it seems to be pretty well received, even in the comments on their facebook posts. I recently had authentic ramen at a local hole in the wall and it was amazing. I always thought ramen was just that shitty Nissin stuff. XD Some of the videos I watched, its def a little more complex than just pouring hot water into noodles and a tiny spice packet. Some of them have multiple packets to enter in before and after water is added. And apparently there are suggested fresh add ons you can buy separately at the grocery store. Things you obviously can't dehydrate like hard boiled eggs.

Everything is rng now, even our food. Lol. Definitely let me know how that ramen turns out. I've had a few slightly fancy ones with multiple packets. It had a packet of freeze dried veggies, a spice packet and a broth packet. It wasn't that impressive tho. My favorite ramen is still the nong shim brand kimichi ramen. It has a nice spiciness to it that nothing else really matches in terms of flavor and its only $1.20 per bowl at the store. For some reason it's sold in the international section instead of with all the other ramen.

It was either this one or the Candy Club. I don't want to feel obligated to destroy 3 tubs of candy a month. It just seems so unhealthy. At least Ramen lasts a good while before having to be used. XD

Before you know it you'll have a stock pile of ramen that'll turn into christmas presents. XD Everyone will remember it as the christmas you gave ramen to everyone. XD
