  1. Yeah to say Coca-Cola will never become a toilet manufacturer is fanboyish too. X'D Microsoft is a 33 year old software giant, They have no desire to become a hardware company because they make all their money from selling software to hardware makers. That is what the whole company was founded on. The Xbox 360 is a minute fraction of the company, they wont change the entire company just because of one division that isn't even their biggest money maker, unless a complete idiot was running the show. They don't need to fix their shitty hardware because its budget type products like keyboards and ear phones. The only two major products they have are the Zune and the Xbox 360. A Doctoral Degree is a joke? pfft. I can take that statement as seriously as Miss Cleo.
  2. I'm pretty sure a person with a PhD in this field can make a better "educated" guess than the both of us. Maybe its just me, but I don't see how guessing the PS3 can never take the lead is the only unfanboyish thing to say. If thats the only so called educated guess to make, then I guess its fact? Microsoft won't just become a hardware business, they gained their glory through software, and its all they will ever be. The few hardware products they have are craptastic in quality (as far as construction goes). I'm aware of how much a plasma screen costs, but that doesn't change the fact that both the PS3 and Xbox 360 were built to perform on these types of devices. To someone that can afford it and wants to play games, it would make no sense to buy a pile of PC parts rather than a killer home entertainment set up. For those of us that can't afford it, oh well it works just fine on the TV we have. There are many many factors pertaining to the development of new consoles other than the PC.
  3. BBC news is one of the world's most respected sources for news. Its not fanboyism, and the overuse of the term fanboy only declares one's own fanboyism. Besides, the BBC isn't the only source to cover this topic. Both Microsoft and Sony are coming out with their own silly motion wand, they could start drawling interest in developers that make games for the Wii... with 2 other outlets, sales can be increased dramatically for a software company. This could change the dynamics of the market. Your line of thought is still stuck in last generation where there were 3 consoles that went through its entirety. There was no HDMI, There wasn't 60 inch plasma tvs, and there wasn't 3-4 different console configurations. Its a totally different ball game now. You can assume that a console wont last for 10 years, but no one knows that. Besides... PS2 came pretty close. Microsoft is a software company, Sony is a hardware company. Microsoft wont be starting any type of format war unless they pay out the ass for someone else to make them one. All indications right now point to MS looking into Blu-Ray. Unlike previous console lifespan trends, Format Wars don't happen every 5 years, the movie industry needs more stability than gamers do. The Playstation 3 is more than just a graphical powerhouse. Its an information processing factory. Right now, most of the non-exclusive games that hit the PS3 are Xbox 360 ports. No one has made a game that even scratches the surface of what the system can do. (MGS4 is the first game to fill up a blu-ray disc, but thats probably only because of its length, cut scenes, and codec conversations). It could possibly be a whole generation ahead. I don't know, you don't know, game developers don't know. Will that potential ever be met? Maybe and maybe not.
  4. Hmmm, the CD format has pretty much reached its limit. The burning question is exactly how Microsoft will advance their hardware beyond cell processing and blu-ray? That is, without paying Sony for the rights to use it. By winning the HD format war, Sony has virtually monopolized the next step in gaming technology. Maybe Nintendo saw this coming, and went in the direction they did, tossing out the arms race gimmick for simplicity. What has happened here is, Sony built a system with an intended 10 year life span, and created a pretty good barricade for anyone being able to produce something more advance than it. The console itself is a very expensive thing to create, and the unit itself is not profitable. So if you can make one last 10 years with mega software sales in that span, its a lot more reasonable from a business stand point and a consumer standpoint. I agree. I rather play Mass Effect on my Xbox 360 in peace, rather than on a PC where you have to renew the registration every 10 days to prove your copy is legitimate. Your internet is temporarily down? Too bad, you can't play it even though its an offline game.
  5. http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=44813 Sweeeeet! Qok-MJ8r38U They have to open the movie like this! X'D
  6. You made a big mistake GG. Posting anything that doesn't hail the PS3 as the biggest failure in history is a no no. You must disregard all logic and common sense, ignore any facts that doesn't favor the Wii, and believe with all your heart that market lifespan trends of the 1990's will always be. X'D The PSP has completely dominated the Japan market in the last two months outselling the Wii and the DS? WHAT?! BLASPHEMY!!! The news industry is being hijacked by a Sony Fanboy conspiracy! Its the only explanation!
  7. Florida is filled with old, senile retirees and there School system is an absolute joke ranking in the bottom five nation wide. I had to repeat the 4th grade when I moved to Virgina from Florida because I was 2 years behind in every subject. He can find a lot better jobs in another state if he is willing to move... It would be a non-issue in any interview.
  8. SUFFER LIKE G DID!! (closed caption: Suffer the way G did) X'D The voice acting is classic!
  9. http://wii.ign.com/articles/870/870063p1.html Its basically a half-assed dungeon crawler with decent graphics, but NES gameplay mechanics. Maybe if the game wasn't $40 it would be worth a try. Nintendo seems to be letting anyone and everyone make a game for their system... there are 3rd parties that have no prior credibility in game making. While I don't have a problem with this, I think its kind of shitty to sell these sub par products for the same price as top tier games like Smash, and Galaxy. Xbox and PS3 have their share of crumby games, but in these cases, their just games that weren't thought out well, or the concept was either poorly executed or just didn't work out at all. The time and effort was put into them however. Basically the Wii is selling like hot cakes, so everyone is trying to make money by putting as much product out there as humanly possible. It kind of reminds me of the NES days... man, there were A LOT of shitty games for the NES. X'D Anyways, I have the same attitude as you. My friend sold me his for $200, and it came with 2 Wiimotes, 2 nunchucks, 2 wiimote protective sleeves, 2 gamecube controllers, and a extra stand that can hold games too... even though I use the original stand. Then another friend bought my the nYko rechargable batteries and stand for my birthday. X'D The only reason i got it was to play Smash, Metroid, and Zelda, I'll probably play Galaxy and No More Heros as well. Other than that I dunno. I'll probably get a few things off the Virtual Console later down the road... but if you can find a killer deal from someone that doesn't use theirs, thats the way to go. House of the Dead 2&3 is fun because you can basically play the arcade goodness without the countless amounts of quarters you wasted as a kid.
  10. It all depends on perspective. Take Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom for example. It received a mediocre rating, Its a fun game for those that are into the Champions, Baldur's Gate, Gauntlet type games. However the reason it got a lackluster rating is because its a next gen title... priced as a next gen title, with previous generation gameplay, graphics, and issues. The Numerical rating means less to me than what is actually said about the game and why it is rated as such. Rarely do I ever see anything below a 6 from IGN, they really do try to give the benefit of the doubt. However there are plenty of Wii titles that have 4-2's. Of course these are all the garbage titles such as George of the Jungle and the Search for the Secret, Furu Furu Park, and Baroque. I mean c'mon... The Search for the Secret? They didn't even spend time thinking up a decent title for the game. I see the Angry Nintendo Nerd diving into this library of crap after he runs out of old games to to make videos for.
  11. Yeah I know, thats what I just said, and that was the whole purpose of the article. Notice the title of this thread. It wasn't meant to say anything about another console being better, thats what you had in your mind just because the PS3 graph was bigger. Its not a debate about what console is the best, its a statement about how many shitty games are flooding the software library of the Wii. The PS3 is outselling the Xbox 360, most notibly the Xbox 360 Elite model which doesn't have an early life span. If it wasn't a big deal, then Microsoft wouldn't be showing concern... they are. I'm not saying either is better. I own both. Yes they do have more sales, because they have been out longer (and their consoles break more frequently), but the goal for each company is to outsell the other from month to month. I just used it as an example to show how unjust it is to just assume that the PS3 "deserves" to be in 3rd place in every single category ever. I don't see what all this fuss is about anyways. The article barely even mentions the PS3 besides a sentence or two and a graph. Did you even read the article is the real question, because not only does it say that the graph is off a percent, in the actual content of the piece it gives you the physical numbers you so desire. 360 has more than double the good rated games of PS3. The graph is set up as a percentage because its not meant to show who has more good games. Its a comparison of good to bad within each consoles own software library... some people just like to see a side by side of each console. Just ignore the PS3 and Xbox graphs if you don't like it. Its not even important for the topic at hand. The Wii has tons and tons of crapfest games... its true. They could be doing better... but why when you sell the most? Oh yeah, you know me, I'm the biggest PS3 fanboy ever, because I own all 3 systems. I use the other two for target practice out in my back yard.
  12. Well first off its not saying PS3 has the most good games, its saying out of the games that are available for each system, PS3 has more quality titles than shitty ones within what is actually available for it. Sony does have superior quality control standards. The chart is based of a percentage, if it wasn't, Xbox 360's graph would eclipse the other two because of the sheer amount of software it has. Why would you think PS3 should be third? It has been outselling 360 since January. And the people that are actually buying it are doing so to PLAY it (as opposed to selling it on eBay for inflated prices). With MGS4 on the horizon, sales will only continue to increase. In any case, article is very reputable. You can choose not to believe it if you wish.
  13. http://gamefunk.net/?p=57 (In dept article) http://kotaku.com/385981/the-wii-has-many-many-crummy-games (original source) If you don't want to read the bigger article, basically it says that Nintendo marketing scheme is taking advantage of its new "casual gamers" because they don't research products like real gamers do. Any ignorant person can buy a bunch of garbage and not know the difference between good and bad. Its pretty genius of them, despite the fact that their sales are inflated by ebayers (just type in Wii to see for yourself).I obtained a Wii for dirt dirt cheap from a friend who never used it much. I have Smash, Twilight Princess, House of the Dead port, and the only other games I have a desire to play on it are Metroid Prime 3, and No More Heroes. Just as my gamecube did it will probably see the least amount of use, probably even less than it did. I certainly wouldn't have wasted $250 on it. But I'll give props to Nintendo, they figured out a way to be #1 without actually having the best product... for now at least.
  14. It was meant to be ridiculous and cheesy. It was never meant to be a serious action thriller. It was an old school unrealistic killing spree. One moment he shoots 15 shots and changes a clip, the next he shoots 30 shots out of a clip. I thought the movie was brilliant. If you are just looking to be entertained, and don't take the movie seriously, you'll absolutely love it.
  15. Where is the Random forum damnit?!!??!?! X'D good times.

    MK vs. DC

Ed Boon said it will be rated Teen, and there will be no "fatalities" just outrageous finishers... I knew this was probably going to be the case, but it still took all the wind out of my sails... I've lost a lot of desire to play this game now.
  20. It would be funny now to drill in Alaska, It may only last 5-10 years, but all we need is 3. Total financial cut off from US dollars would crush the economy of the middle east. It may cause a new energy crisis, but it would be worth it to see them suffer.
