Ok so no behemoths or elite class, squad play can get perks that the squad leader can spend on things like a V2 rocket call in. Sorta like a "killstreak" but the squad has to accumulate points for it.

The season finale just ended this past monday. I started this series and gave it a couple eps. I almost dropped it, but by the third ep shit started going down and I got sucked into the plot. This was a surprisingly great series with excellent acting. Its so refreshing to see a 1 off series like this. I don't think there is going to be a season 2 and if there is it would probably ruin the experience. This played out like an anime in a sense. It started and finished the entire plot. There was no filler episodes and everything tied in together. I hope this inspires AMC to make more stand alone short series. Hell, I wish more of america tv would follow this direction instead of endless reality shows or drawing out a series so long that it gets canceled without a finale. This show proves its possible for US tv to actually give us a story in a complete season. Well done AMC.  I can only compare this to Stephen King mini series, except better. Now I wish all those old Stephen King mini series were actually given the full season treatment like this.

I just finished watching it and I adore this show. When you ask yourself what Strider looks for in anime this is it, this is what I love to watch. This was just a joy to watch and while it really hits you in the feels it just so well done. It's been such a long time since I last watched a show that truly moved me like this one did and such a long time since we've had an anime so character driven that it saddens me. We need more shows like this, ones driven forward by a compelling story and such well developed and lovely characters (enough with the harem anime, enough with the long running shounen crap, give us shows like this). To make it even better the soundtrack is amazing and the animation is top notch (of course it is coming from KyoAni, the very studio that brought us Clannad and Kanon (two breathtakingly beautiful shows)).
The show is not without its flaws (and by what I understand it's not a true adaptation of the novel (it ends completely differently than the novel)) it's not enough to detract from what is being told and shown. I'm with DX on this and can't recommend this enough. Sure there's very little action, sure it's a sappy story, sure the characters are cutesy but god damn it look beyond it and give it shot. In the last two days I've shed many manly tears because of this show and am not afraid to admit it (I'm getting sappy in my old age). Bravo Netflix, you have finally delivered to me an anime that I can truthfully say will go down as one of my all time favorite shows and an anime that has truthfully left me breathless. I hope the new Violet Evergarden project delivers us more of this wonderful world and story, I just can't get enough of it (I might re-watch it again this weekend that's how much I love it).

I just finished this on Netflix and I must say; Bravo Netflix you finally nailed it. I almost stopped after ep 2 just because this anime wasn't what I thought it was going to be, but I kept with it and I'm so glad I did. It's definitely not a genre I usually watch. There is very little action and its mostly drama, but good lord the story is great, the voice acting is phenomenal, the animation is stunning, and the OST is beautiful. Episode 7 was probably my favorite, but 8-11 is a damn feels trip. Holy shit its rough at some points, but the final two episodes serve as a proper finale. I can't recommend this enough. There is some Studio Ghibli level charm with this series. This should have received more promotion from Netflix than it did if any.

BF1942 def would not hold up today. It was revolutionary, but it was as unpolished as the original counter strike would be today. BF2 is still my all time favorite as far as the maps go, but damn last time I played it a few years ago it was crazy how clunky it felt. The map scale just felt so much bigger... and it was. The trade off was you could go a long time without ever seeing anyone even with PC player counts vs. the limited console at the time. Something that little have the attention span for these days. I remember setting up C4 on a bridge and then running off to a high point pretty far away. The whole ordeal took a good 10 minutes or more. Then I waited for another 5 or more minutes for a tank to drive across so I could blow the bridge. Good times. Today its all about fast action all the time. I can't say I dislike it with how much time i spent on Ziba tower 24/7 servers on BF3.
BF1 lost its luster for me because of how little weapons the base game had, and how not many of them were very good. Which also led to my rage quit over the Martini nerf. Outside of that, the Cie-Regatti and the Model 10-A are the only things I cared to use that I felt were effective. Dice really lost their way with weapon balance, and balance in general. Lets nerf this rifle with abysmal stats because skilled players can double collateral people on a moving boat, but its cool to sit in a blimp and rake in 40 kills or ride around in a single person tank and destroy everyone because you can self repair. Lets say we nerfed the Model 10-A like 3 times, but I can still run around and hip fire one shot everyone until the last nerf where I just had to tap ADS and fire effectively "quick-scope" one shotting everyone. Operations were a lot of fun when the team wasn't picking the wrong tank to take out behemoths. But I got burnt out when the whole game revolved around sniping, or sneaking up to sniper ridge and killing them all. Sniping will always be popular, but man it was too popular in BF1, it all goes back to how bad most the weapons where. People are going to gravitate towards the guns with the best TTK.
WWII has way more weapons that they better implement in the base game. I don't need to wait 3-4 months post release to get the M1919. I don't want to grind through a shit gun just to get the STG44. Don't make me get 50 head shots with a gun that has insane recoil to get the MP40. Lets not be cute. Lets have some real weapon diversity.

After watching Drift0r's videos its actually very different from any COD they've made, and not in a good way. There are a lot of positives like predictive recoil. But they've made this game to be more team focused like a R6S lite. Its just not going to work for a franchise full of dudebro casuals. You're either going to get steam rolled by a team that communicates, or you're going to have wildly inconsistent matches. 5v5 is a downgrade.
I'm also normally not one to care about a single player campaign being excluded, but for COD its a bit different and its a shame too. Blops 3 campaign was pretty trash but WW2's campaign was quite good.

It's looking like its WW2. They need to leave the bombs to those radio towers like in the modern games. I'd rather see things like that rather than a behemoth in operations. Planes should only have guns. But we all know those Zero dive bombers are gonna cause havoc.

Premium needs to go. After the 1st dlc the only players left are premium players, most of which have no life and decent team balance usually goes out the window. I'd rather see a free map introduced once every month instead of a four map dlc pack with exclusive guns that you need to stay competitive.
What i really want is a battlefield game that has the same mechanics as bf4. And screw planes. If the next battlefield game expects ppl to use permanently placed AA guns to take out planes I might not even buy it. I'm that sick of plane bomb spam. Westie says he hates random unavoidable deaths but didn't mention the planes when they are the primary issue imo. Endless explosion bomb spam.

So Battlefield has never used a roman numeral. V is either for Victory ala WWII... or Vietnam which I'm hoping for the most. PLEASE GIVE US NAM OPERATIONS!!! HILL 137!
I need to RPG choppers again. Nam is the best of modern without the cheap ass guided bullshit.

I watched both seasons of this and through it was good overall. The episodes that were more interesting to me were the ones where Michael made himself the subject to these experiments. There were too many eps IMO that tested various types of peer pressure and social awkwardness. When the subjects were told they were being duped, they couldn't really come up with an real answer for their actions because they were too embarrassed. You could see it all over their face. There was one episode were a lady looked pissed that she was called out of lying about her experience from a placebo hallucinogen.   She just kept saying she really felt something.

DeathscytheX got a reaction from Sledgstone in Cobra Kai (Karate Kid Sequel/Spinoff)
I originally scoffed at this because of YT Red, but since I got a 3 month free trail I watched this and thought it was well made. They actually almost went the way of the Daniel was the real bully but didn't quite commit to it. Daniel was pretty unlikable throughout the whole series, and Cobra Kai felt like a dojo of redemption, only til the end where they tried to make them out to be the bad guys when they got "full of them selves". You empathize with the Cobra Kai kids and Johnny the whole series so the last minute turn doesn't work very well and seems forced. Diaz is too likeable of a character with a sad back history and his mom and grandma still cheering him on. Making him the bully in favor of Johnny's toubled son who's was a douche the whole series trying to get back at his dad by working for Daniel was pretty crappy. Its like they didn't know what to do in the end and decided to try to make Daniel the "good guy" anyways even though he was an immature rich asshole the whole series and Johnny was trying to get his life back together through reopening Cobra Kai.
Oh and Johnny and Daniel are really out of shape. when Daniel tries to do Karate it looks super shitty, because he can barely lift his leg up anymore. Johnny looks a bit better and has better camera cuts for his sequences. Thankfully the kids are more in shape to do these moves.

Basically Rasputin helps you take down some frozen hive with an energy lance and then reactivates the solar systems WARSAT system. He declares he will defend humanity on his own terms and has no equal.
Yeah pretty much what hes been doing all along, nothing was explained or revealed about his history. What a waste. I'm done with bungie. The campaign was 3 missions no more than 30 min long worth of content. It was shorter than CoO. The Queen and Rasputin were the two most interesting aspects of the destiny world and both got less than stellar expansions across 2 games. Instead we got more hive shit. The only interesting thing in this expac is SUROS Regime is back.

Heh, just wait it gets worse. Just about every episode has been ending on a cliff hangar and episode 4 ups the stakes big time. I knew we were in for a hell off a season with this one but it's definitely a lot darker then the first two (I won't mention Fumoffu since it's pretty much just a comedy anyways). I just can't wait until we get to see something that I wish I could mention (if you pay attention to the opening you'll see what I mean), going to be fucking awesome.

No, all the boss fights pretty much follow the same format, with a basic combat part, a break in the fighting, and an interactive part which is what they've replaced QTEs with, and then more fighting. The cycle may continue depending on the boss fight and the story they're trying to tell. The only two things the final boss fight changes up is they don't prompt you on what buttons to press during the interactive part because it already taught you what to do in a previous encounter and expects you to remember it. The second is an underused mechanic  in the spoiler tag but its straight forward and you'll easily understand it.
There is actually a single boss fight that is just straight combat. I think this is to introduce you to the condition mechanic because its not an important character and they reuse this enemy type later for optional bosses and tough encounters. There is burning, frozen, poison, and blindness. Burning, Poison, and Frozen just do damage over time. If frozen slows you down, I couldn't tell or wasn't paying attention. Blindness is more annoying as this is what that particular boss does. When you get blinded, your field of vision becomes limited. Minor blindness puts you in a grey haze where you can only see a few feet around you, while major blindness has you walking around in pitch black with a spot light over you basically.. you can't see anything outside of that circumference. The annoying part of this is that if you get hit by the these certain attacks again the meter completely resets and you stay blind until you can avoid getting hit by it for a pretty generous amount of time. Conditions have visual affects as burning has you covered in molten rock looking skin, Poison gives you a fart cloud , and frozen is just frost over your body... but there is also a symbol with a border timer over your health bar similar to GW2 to indicate how much duration is left on the condition. You'll later find armor enchantments that you can socket that can have resistance to these conditions, each can stack up to various amounts. I've never had to use them, I bet they're more useful for challenging or "Give me God of War" mode. I played on normal and it was a enjoyable experience with enough challenge for me.

I just beat this game and holy shit, it was amazing from start to finish. There was never really a dull moment. Its amazing how they were able to create a map where every path had a purpose, everything had reason. You never went anywhere and there was nothing but a dead end or just pointless trinket for a collection. At worst there was a skeleton with a bag of currency, but that was a lot less common than finding a chest plus a collection item. The dialogue kept things interesting while you walked or boated to wherever you needed to go. There was only one stretch in the game where Atreus is disgruntled and just kept saying "whatever" over and over again. It was pretty annoying but the overall silence between the two worked well for the tension being conveyed to the player at the time, as you've been conditioned to constant chatter the entire game. Even the back tracking, what little there was, was done very well as they generally made use of short cuts to the area that you could open up with new abilities and tools. Hell, even taking a long trek off path normally ended with a chain to climb down or a rope to zipline to get back to where you needed fast rather than having to walk all the way back through empty pathways.
The main boss fights were actually really easy, I never died on any of them or even came close to it. They presented a more cinematic experience as each of them had stages interrupted with various crazy ass unplayable sequences... it was almost like a short break because a lot of these fights are a good 10-15 minute affairs. Interestingly enough the side quests and optional bosses are much more challenging at the cost of really good drops and extra lore. Even some of the common encounters were more of a challenge TBH. I sorta prefer this model. I rather not constantly die from a boss and have to relive the sequence of events and dialogue multiple times. It does break immersion. Some of the tougher enemies will definitely have you cringing when you see them. The game does a good job of introducing you to their mechanics, and then later throw more powerful ones at you, or giving you two at a time either of the same type or two different ones that present their own challenge. I pretty much saved up my spartan rage of these moments. I would take one down with it and then deal with the other. I'm cheap like that. especially the Ogres since you can ride them and make them unwillingly attack when you break their stun meter. Health in this game is much different form previous GoW games, you have to manually stomp on them to regain HP. There are no chests or breakables that float you orbs in a time of need. Stomping on a crystal during a fight is a calculated risk as it does take a half of second. I've had it completely negated by getting hit while stomping on one during a fight. There are two armors you can get for Atreus that will have him throw you a crystal when low on HP. Spartan rage also heals you with every hit you land. There are also armor socketables that will give you health upon a kill, but its not a lot, and rarely worth wasting a slot on.
The story itself was just damn good. There were so many "oh shit" crazy ass moments... most of the journey is filled with set backs and getting around those. Every time you're near your goal, something happens that makes you have to go do another task. Normally this would be annoying, but its well done, and extends the story to give the finale much more meaning. The relationship between Kratos and Atreus evolves throughout the game and is reflected thought the dialogue in how they respond to each other. This was done masterfully in more ways than one. There is no way to tell what and when a player will do side quests in relation to what you've done in the story including getting Mimir's head. Mimir adds even more dynamic to this as he will have comments on things too. For instance I missed a few lore discoveries at the starting area of the game. I later went back to unlock a door I couldn't and picked it up along the way. Mimir had something to add to it that I wouldn't have gotten if I had asked Atreus to read it the first go around. The extra mile was really put into this game, and it shows every step of the way. EA can suck a fat one for saying single player games are dead. This was worth the 5 years put into it.
Now for an aspect of gameplay I love/hated. I'll put it in a spoiler tag, because you can't do it until after a certain point in the game... chances are youtube or looking at the achievements will spoil it though. Its not a story spoiler but I still feel it's best to get there and experience it without knowing its coming.

Pretty good first ep. The fight between Widow and Moon was the high point. MK is a junkie, Sonny is a drunk dad, and Bajie is ripping off poor people? What heroic protagonists we have. The end was interesting. i wonder if that "call" Bajie made at the end of Season 2 accidentally called trouble rather than salvation? And why does this mystery group's compass point towards the badlands, rather than away like Sonny's?

I focused on mostly side quests today. I now have maxed purple lvl armor. I was able to go back and defeat a few encounters that were just too much with my previous gear. I'd say thats one of the best parts of this game is that you don't really have to commit to any of the side quests. If you keep getting your ass kicked, you can just leave and come back later. In fact there was one that required me to undo 3 locks. I did two of them and the 3rd was in this small ass room with a big ass dude with a even bigger sword. At the time he could one shot me, and the room was so small the camera would fuck up at times and I couldn't see him over Kratos' back. In a fight that had no room for error, I kept getting hit. I gave up and came back later to find the first two locks were still undone and I only had to focus on the last one.
Its not a spoiler since its in the trailer, but once you get Mimir's head, he's a lore machine. Boating around the map he'll tell Atreus all kinds of stories about the mythology. It's highly enjoyable. I'll sometimes just not even dock until he is finished telling the tale. The game is jammed pack with Norse lore. Not only from Mimir but Atreus translations into his journal which you can real every time you uncover some texts.
I feel like this game is still awesome if you haven't played any of the games before... but if you have it really has that extra feels. There are some real watershed moments that are only so for those that have played the previous games. Oh and there are still some gory moments. Not everything bleeds elements. I ran into a werewulf type monster yesterday and if you break his stun bar, you grab his jaw and pull on it until it rips it off along with the front of his neck and chest.
