  1. CN saved and revived Futurama and Family Guy... but I doubt they would be able to do the same for the Simpsons.... Being on the air for so long, its roots are deep in Fox, and it would take A LOT of money to buy the rights off of them. If it does shut down I see them just sitting on the property forever. They'll make loads off streaming deals with Netflix and Hulu on the reruns, and of course DVDs.

I'm pretty excited that they are putting this back on the air. Not a reboot, not a later years, not updated animation. I pretty much looks to be true to the original... Although it seems they watch crappy reality TV shows instead of music videos. Maybe they're will be a mix. I know with the DVD's that came out later of the original, they had to cut out all the music videos just about because they didn't have the rights to them anymore.

  3. Bah considering you talking about it and my freaking co-workers bragging about it I went ahead and pre-ordered it. It better be worth it damn it, that put the total of game pre-orders over my comfort zone.

Bah, Elite is going to be a joke. Paying that much money for a year on top of the money paid for XBL services isn't worth it. Could care less if I get all the dlc for free (technically not) and first. DLC is a joke when it comes to COD games. Then again it's all about the money.

w00t. Beta is the 27th for us. It'll be worth it.

  4. http://venturebeat.com/2011/09/13/amd-breaks-guinness-world-record-for-fastest-processor-frequency-at-8-429-gigahertz/

Advanced Micro Devices announced today that it has broken the world record for the fastest clock speed for a PC microprocessor. The new 8-core AMD FX desktop processor can be overclocked (or run beyond the usual specifications) to as much as 8.429 gigahertz.

While that’s impressive, it isn’t really practical. Most of the AMD chips will run at much slower speeds, and the new world record simply means that, with expensive cooling power, AMD’s enthusiast fans have been able to coax one chip to run that fast.

Still, Sunnyvale, Calif.-based AMD should get a lot of marketing mileage out of that fact that its 8-core chips, code-named Bulldozer, can operate at record-breaking speeds. The AMD FX processor can be targeted at gamers who love extreme 3D graphics on multiple displays.

The chip is set to debut in the fourth quarter of 2011. The new record was set on Aug. 31 in Austin, Texas by Team AMD FX, a group of overclocking enthusiasts. The previous record was 8.308 gigahertz. Overclocking is a specialty skill where technical experts get chips to run at higher than normal speeds without melting down.

  5. A non-portable Nintendo console will never finish out a generation on top ever again. Mark it. They're worse than Hollywood recycling the same stuff. They can't handle their brands correctly, and they have the absolute worst 3rd party support ever (dating back to N64). Their unlimited potential wallows in the abyss of unimaginative limbo, and there isnt any sign of changing that. They have unique hardware innovations, with limited software to support interest.

Sony could get their shit straight again down the road and reclaim top dawg, This could possibly be a start. As far as format goes, MS should be cautious... Nintendo's refusal to move away from the cartridge was a key in their fall from grace with publishers. By no means will this cause MS to flop like Big N, but the same cocky attitude is what lead to PS3's rough start with developers this gen. It could be enough to shift the balance back in Sony's favor later on.

But I do hope Strider is right. I've said the same thing about Nintendo too... I'd love to see a fresh new look on Legend of Zelda running on Sony/MS consoles. :P

  6. Jet combat was in BF2 :P BC is a really watered down version of Battlefield, but now that I think of it, it was a pretty cool wait to reach out to a new audience. The Vientnam expansion to me was how a DLC should be. Different maps, different guns, different equipment, vehicles, and stats. It was a whole new game. BF3 will boast over 50 guns, and i forgot how many maps out the gate.

I considered getting MW3 just because a lot of my friends play it, and I'd like to play the single player. The story may be crap, but I will give it to IW when it comes to intense moments or "holy shit" moments. But the COD Elite really did it for me. COD is not an MMO, There should be no subscription fee... much like EA's season pass. You're right. Its bogus. XBL as much as I love the service, its also at fault here. They started it all with charging gamers for content that was given out for free on the PC version.

Glad to see that the game play is much smoother now. Its interesting how they made the first person veiw look FPS style, except you can fly... boost looks like sprint where you cant shoot per COD. Being an indie game, I'm impressed with what I've seen. Hope it turns out to be a lot of fun.

  8. Yeah. It really sucks what the industry has become. EA vs. Activision. BioWare and Dice are probably my 2 most favorite developers, based on the pride they take in their work.

My problem with COD's multiplayer is the lack of care taken into it, by both studios. IW makes a game, and Trey copies it, but tries to make it better, and still falls short. Black Ops is a better game than MW2, IMO. But its still busted. It seems after everyone gets past 3-4 prestige everything goes to shit. I was playing MW2 last night and spawned in the same location infront of the same guy 3 times. lucky for me, the 3rd time I was behind him. Camping, tubing, and spawn camping are the ways to success on any COD game. I can play demolition on launch, run to the enemy spawn, tact insert and go 55-8, easily, but after a while it gets old. Yet people delight in doing the same thing over and over and over. I dunno its just not for me.

Then lets not forget the complete lack of support for old games. You play MW1 now, everyone is in the sky, on parts the map you arent suppose to be in, there's hack ads on the newsfeed. You play S&D on WaW and someone calls in dogs as soon as the match starts with no kills. Seriously? They could fix it... but why when a new half assed game is gonna come out in a few months! Oh and lets charge you another $60 for 4 map packs. So you essentially pay $120 for a mediocre game, that is only fun the first 2-3 months. I really miss the MW1 days. I had so much fun playing that game. and my time of play stat proves it over the other games. lol
