  1. I don't know if any of you ever read Popehat. I check in from time to time, ever since the Carron vs. Oatmeal incident because some of the stuff they post is hilarious! But they also coordinate and help those that need pro-bono legal help in free speech cases. While I don't think anyone on here is a lawyer, as this involves Games Workshop, I thought I'd post it.

MCA Hogarth is a science fiction writer; she wrote a book called "Spots the Space Marine." Venerable gaming titan Games Workshop is claiming that it has a trademark in the term "Space Marine" that extends not just to games (like its well-known Warhammer 40,000) but to any use of "Space Marine" in science fiction.

  2. Well, they can't just come out and say it because a majority of their funding comes from conservitive churchs. Without that, there is no BSA, and they do provide a valuable function. At least if this goes through, there will be many chapters that will welcome it, and are totally willing to accept it. Then, the pressure will be even more on the conservitve churchs to get their asses in gear and stop being discrimitory dicks.

Currently, the BSA is discussing potentially removing the national membership restriction regarding sexual orientation. This would mean there would no longer be any national policy regarding sexual orientation, and the chartered organizations that oversee and deliver Scouting would accept membership and select leaders consistent with each organization’s mission, principles, or religious beliefs. BSA members and parents would be able to choose a local unit that best meets the needs of their families.

A step in the right direction. This would put the decision to ban gays at the local level only, so at least the troops that aren't backed by ultra-conservitive idiots can stop more discrimination.

  4. Yeah, see, I don't do PvP in TOR. I never have anyone to play with, and FFXI made me leery of forming groups with strangers. I'm perfectly happy just playing the stories through. I've started a story for every class, though the only one I've really progressed with is the smuggler. It's been a lot of fun. ^_^

And for the romance options, well, they can only go so far and have it rated for minors to play. Granted, a lot of parents very stupidly ignore those ratings, but they want as many people as possible playing it *and paying for it, but that's normal*. Still, I like that they make you actually work for it. Well, I know the one with Corso is taking me forever compared to regular games, but I think that makes more sense. It's a bit more realistic that "Oh man, you're an awesome fighter/leader, I have fallen in love with even though we've only known each other a couple of days, lets have sex!" that other games seem to do. *i'm looking at YOU, Dragon Age!*

  5. Kotor 1 was amazing.

Kotor 2 had better game play / features, but the story was very disappointing compared to KOTOR 1

Now on to SWTOR, impossible to sum up an MMO in a few sentences. But Overall. I enjoyed the story element, just end game was very lackluster

You know, I've heard that from various sources. Is it 'meh' for all the classes, or just some?

  6. Well, there's a group that's rebuilding the missing parts of KotOR2.  Basicly, most of the stuff cut from the original game still exists in the game, they just removed the ability to access it.  So there's a group going through and restoring all of it that they can, including dialogue.  It's not perfect, but there's some little things so far that are interesting.  Haven't gotten to the ending yet; I'm really curious to see how that was supposed to work out.  There's also a group working on restoring the droid planet, which I have just finished, and it was fun.  It's nice having new content to play with.  Plus, I now own a freakin' planet, hell yeah!  XD

And yeah, the Jedi stories for TOR haven't been anything special, but I have been enjoying the smuggler storyline.  Partly because I like playing rogue characters, partly because the part I played through was fun and challenging, and partly because she has a ton of smart-ass remarks, and I just can't help myself!  *LOL*

  7. So, been playing this for a while and still enjoy it. Taking a break to play KotOR2 with the restored content mod, but this one I'll keep coming back to.

And so I was wondering if anyone else plays, and if so, what your server(s) are. My main is Karisanne on Ebon Hawk, though I've got multiple other characters. Which will all be active as soon as I can get my subscription back on. ><

  8. Music doesn't make me drive faster, really. What makes me drive faster is more traffic. When a bunch of people start passing me on the highway, I get annoyed so I speed up. And in town, during heavy traffic, I get pissed when people drive slow or leave huge gaps in front of them, so I switch lanes a lot until I get ahead, and the speed up really fast. >< But if there's very little traffic, I usually go the speed limit in town. About 5 over on highways.

  9. I didn't really play much in the way of video games as a kid. Most of our games were puzzle games because that's what came with our Commodore. Oh, and Sarcen. XD

But once I got older, I started playing a lot of SNES games, the most memorable and hardest for me was Lavos in Chrono Trigger. He was a MAJOR pain in the ass, but I really felt like I had acomplished something when I finally beat him.
