  1. Powered by the same GPU as the Nvidia Shield and a couple smart phones and chromebooks, (and not as powerful as current gen consoles or even close to gaming PCs), the Nintendo NX will use the Nvidia Tegra as a GPU/CPU combo for a handheld console with detachable controllers. It will also come with a home base that you can plug into to play the console on the TV. It will still play cartridges. My guess is that it will look like the Wii U controller, except with detachable nunchuck controllers on the sides. I would photoshop something to look like that but I need a new photo editing program. ehh. The Tegra is a decent chip, but I don't see Nintendo competing with Sony or Microsoft at this point anymore. Its like they are doubling down on their handheld market, which makes sense to me. They know how to make good handhelds and they sell. But if this is all true it seems a bit too gimmicky to me. The Wii and Wii U was all targeted at families and party games, but this is obviously targeted toward individuals and solo players. If the screen is the normal size of a cell phone and its meant to run games all the time, I wonder how hot the thing will get and if it'll need to be recharged every 2 hours. 2. The new PlayStation 4 firmware update will include external HHD support for game installation. Finally. I honestly didn't realize the original PS4s even had USB 3. They are also finally adding custom wallpapers via screenshots. About damn time. The wallpapers in the online store are complete garbage. I'd still prefer to use my own .jpg files like on the PS3, but modders used that feature as a way to hack the system which is why we never got the functionality in PS4. Using a screenshot is completely fine with me. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2017/02/03/ps4-system-software-update-4-50-features-detailed/
  3. Nvidia is launching an online game streaming service called GeForce NOW. I'm going to quote myself here from another topic: With Playstation having it's own streaming service and now Nvidia making it's own service, having to own physical consoles and PCs specifically for gaming might come to an end within our lifetimes. The downside to the Nvidia service is the cost. I've been seeing the numbers "$25 per 20 hours of gaming" floating around alot. If so, thats a hell of an expense for now. 4. http://store.steampowered.com/ Am I the only one suffering from steam sale fatigue? Maybe its just me but ever since they changed the store to the design it is now nothing in the store appeals to me anymore. Its probably because of the massive influx of every game from every independent developer. Theres so many games on there that I never look at what new games came out anymore because in any given week 40+ new games were released and 250+ games are listed in their weekly sales. I stopped looking and only pay attention to humble bundle sales now. Even with the steam sale going on now I don't see any huge sale thats leaping out at me to take my money anymore. Sure I still have a backlog of games but there seems to be less and less new AAA or indie games that I'm interested in for PC. Unless its a game I want for console I hardly look at the steam store anymore even though I use steam on a daily basis.
  5. In a surprising move, Amazon has purchased Twitch, beating out the looming Google / YouTube acquisition. This should be a good move for twitch. Amazon definitely has the hardware to support the site. Source: Twitch

  7. The Steam summer sale 2016 started about an hour ago: http://store.steampowered.com/ I was half expecting Mighty No. 9 to be on sale for 50% off only 2 days after release. There aren't any games I've been actively waiting to go on sale, but I might pick up that steam link for $35.
  8. Pretty good deals. I'm wondering if playing Battlefield Hardline's campaign is worth $4.79. Dragon Age Inquisition for $5.99 is an amazing price. Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition for $4.49 is a great too if you never played it before on another system. http://slickdeals.net/f/8837183-playstation-psn-best-of-e3-sale https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/best-of-e3-sale/cid=STORE-MSF77008-BESTOFE3SALELP Table provided by raven70 Title Platform Price Plus Price Akiba's Trip: Undead &Undressed PS4 $17.99 $14.99 Alien: Isolation PS4 $14.99 $11.99 Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag PS4 $11.99 $8.99 Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag Gold Edition PS4 $19.99 $17.49 Assassin's Creed Syndicate PS4 $26.99 $23.99 Assassin's Creed Syndicate Gold Edition PS4 $35.99 $31.49 Assassin's Creed Unity PS4 $17.99 $14.99 Batman: Arkham Knight Premium Edition PS4 $29.99 $24.99 Battlefield 4 PS4 $4.79 Battlefield Hardline Standard Edition PS4 $4.79 Call of Duty: Black Ops III PS4 $44.39 $34.79 Call of Duty: Black Ops III Digital Deluxe Edition PS4 $84.99 $74.99 Child of Light PS4 $7.49 $5.99 Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin PS4 $19.99 $15.99 Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition PS4 $14.99 $11.99 Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - 10. If Nintendo had Pixar make their movies while maintaining control of the property so another "Super Mario Bros." live action fiasco never happens again, they could make some really awesome movies. But if Nintendo teams up with some companies in Japan that did the live action death note or attack on titan movies, this could lead to some huge flops. 11. If I didn't already own 80% of the games in this bundle I'd definitely buy it. These humble (major company) bundles keep getting better and better. Its getting to the point that I'm not going to buy any more games that have been out for 6 months to a year since most of the games I actively buy (and sits in my game queue) ends up in one of these humble bundles now. https://www.humblebundle.com/telltale-bundle
  12. How did everyone luck out with black friday deals? Amazon matched most of the sales I was keeping my eye on. I ended up getting a new PS4 controller for $40 (my current one has taken some heavy BF4 damage to the left thumbstick), Walking Dead Season 2 PS4 for $19.99 and Shadow of Mordor PS4 for $25. I'd have bought Wolfenstein The New Order also for $25, but I need to save some cash and with how often I play games (and the two games I just bought), by the time I go to play it I could get it cheaper used. I also need to hit the pet store later to buy some new dog beds for 50% off.
  13. I've passed on buying bundles for a while now because with the backlog of games I have now, it seems almost pointless to buy any more games, even on sale. But I've always loved Square Enix RPGs such as Final Fantasy.. but this bundle is full of games from franchises I've never played. What do you guys think about this bundle? I might be interested in it depending on what games get added to it next Tuesday. https://www.humblebundle.com/
  14. I tested two games tonight, Borderlands and The Walking Dead.. and Steam In-Home Streaming works. I was logged into my steam account on both machines at the same time. Once two systems are logged in at once, the Play and Install Game links change so there is a drop down for both options. You can select any game, click the drop down and choose to install or play / stream any game from either machine. So I picked Borderlands to try first and set it to stream from my new desktop. It loaded up fine but I had to change all the video settings because it has never been played on that PC before. I set everything to max graphics, something my laptop has not been able to do for this game, and started playing BL on my laptop in maxed settings. It worked flawlessly. I only played for a few minutes, but my laptop's fan didn't even kick on like it normally would for that game. It was definitely running off the other computer because I've tried these settings on my laptop before and it was unplayable do to how horribly laggy it became. But with the in-home streaming, it wasn't an issue at all. I seemed to have some issues with the Walking Dead. It lagged out on me once and a second time it kicked me from the game. But I think it was because the desktop was going into sleep mode. I'll have to test that again later. I'm now very interested in getting a Steam Machine.. but not some powerful one, no.. I want the lowest end steam machine that comes with a controller. As long as I can stream from my main desktop, I'll have no problem playing every game on my steam account and I won't be limited to what can only run on Steam OS. I wonder if some company will make a HDMI dongle steam machine made strictly for streaming from another computer over wifi. I'd buy it.
  15. Anyone watching Heroes of Cosplay? Aside from Yaya Han, everyone looks like normal people that enjoy doing cosplay. Its interesting to see their costumes and their design concepts and ideas. The woman's Brave cosplay was really good. She looked pretty much just like Merida. Its on Syfy, Tuesdays at 10 pm right after Face Off. Link to the site: http://www.syfy.com/heroesofcosplay
  16. Do you have games on your cell phone? What games do you have? How much did you pay for them? Do you know any free game sites? I am such a cell phone newb now. x_x I have three demo games on my rumor 2 and I'm tempted to buy Sonic 1 and 2 because they're available for my phone... they should only be about $3-$7 a piece, but then I have to pay the data transfer, which means about $2-$4 more per game I think... The data rates on sprint without a data plan are huge.
  17. Walmart has started directly competing with Gamestop. You can now trade in your old games on Walmart's website or in store. They are paying much higher rates than Gamestop too. Newer games are getting trade in values around $35 each. Don't expect Walmart to give you handfuls of money though, you can only get Walmart gift cards for your trade ins.. 20. I've purchased bundles from Groupees before and they usually have a good collection of games. I've played about half of these games as a kid and I was surprised to see this bundle. Most of the games are redeemable on Desura or direct download only. Only Two Brothers and Pineapple Smash Crew are steam games. Its a build a bundle which means you can choose which games you want and the minimum increases with each choice. If you choose all the games the minimum is $4.92. Source: http://groupees.com/retro2/

  22. There is a mysterious assignment on Battlefield 4 called "Phantom Prospect" which leads to speculation about a possible Megalodon easter egg on Paracel Storm. I unlocked this assignment tonight, but I haven't seen any Megalodons or dinosaurs yet. Thanks to jackfrags for this video.

  24. Wow the sand storm on Oman is going to be crazy... Parcel Storm's rain levolution is awesome with turtles, it really sounds authentic how the rain hits the ground and your head. I can only imagine what Oman holds. I watched some Live Stream of Metro last night... although I don't like the map, I did look a lot better visually. The roof caving in is going to be interesting. I wonder if they will add choppers for this... at least a little bird for each team.
