  1. https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/days-of-play/cid=STORE-MSF77008-DAYSOFPLAY17LP Uncharted 4 is $20. I just bought it. I might have to put Mass Effect on the back burner.
  2. The new PlayStation 4 firmware update will include external HHD support for game installation. Finally. I honestly didn't realize the original PS4s even had USB 3. They are also finally adding custom wallpapers via screenshots. About damn time. The wallpapers in the online store are complete garbage. I'd still prefer to use my own .jpg files like on the PS3, but modders used that feature as a way to hack the system which is why we never got the functionality in PS4. Using a screenshot is completely fine with me. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2017/02/03/ps4-system-software-update-4-50-features-detailed/

Keyboard and mouse combo for PS4

For only $150 the Hori’s Tactical Assault Commander (TAC) Pro will give everyone on ps4 a huge advantage with mouse and keyboard controls. According to the box art of the product it is officially licensed by Sony and it's being sold at Gamestop and amazon. But if this is actually officially licensed then why doesn't Sony just allow keyboard and mouse input directly to the console so people don't have to pay $150? http://kotaku.com/hori-tactical-assault-commander-pro-review-a-modest-mo-1788600202

    PlayStation 4 Pro aka Neo

Sony officially announced the "PlayStation 4 Pro" today: No longer called the PlayStation Neo, the PS4 Pro will give us 4k gaming and HDR. I don't have a 4K tv so I'm in no rush to get one of these myself. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/09/07/playstation-meeting-2016-introducing-ps4-pro-and-the-slimmer-lighter-ps4/

    Humble Capcom PlayStation Bundle

https://www.humblebundle.com/capcom-playstation-bundle Its nice to see Sony finally getting in on these bundles, but I'm a bit disappointed that the majority of the games are for PS3. The original Resident Evil remaster for PS4 does seem tempting for me to buy this, but with it being roughly $15 I'm wondering if its worth it for just the few games I'll actually play.

    PlayStation Plus price increase

DX mentioned this to me earlier today. In one month the price will increase for PS+ by $10 per year. Not a huge increase, but it'll now be $59.99 starting September 22 2016: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/07/27/playstation-plus-free-games-for-august-2016/ On a side note, I ordered a year's subscription from this site for $37.99 on sale: http://www.saugagamers.com/product/playstation-plus-12-month-subscription-card-digital-delivery $42.99 - $5.00 using promo code THANKYOU. I found the deal on slickdeals: http://slickdeals.net/f/8965647-playstation-plus-12-months-37-99-digital-delivery I haven't gotten my code emailed to me yet, but the company updated their front page a few hours ago saying it could take a couple days for them to send out the codes because they're getting so many orders in. With the price increase I doubt it'll get much cheaper than this since even last black friday it was only on sale for $39.99.

    PSN Flash Sale this weekend

https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/flash-sale/cid=STORE-MSF77008-FLASHSALEWEBLP This is decent sale. A bunch of games for $5 or less. I just bought Killzone Shadow Fall for $5 so I can play the campaign.

    The End of PlayStation Home?

PlayStation Home in Japan and Asia will end March 2015. I wonder how long they'll keep the service operational in Europe and America. I only used PlayStation Home once, but I kind of like the Xbox and Wii U avatar system better. http://www.vg247.com/2014/08/23/playstation-home-closed-japan/

    PlayStation 4 Major Update

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/04/29/major-ps4-system-update-out-tomorrow-updates-for-ps-vita-and-ps-app/ SHAREfactory: After you update your PS4 to v1.70, an icon to download our free SHAREfactory app will appear on your PS4 system’s home screen once it’s available. Once installed, SHAREfactory allows you to easily customize your gameplay videos with special effects, video commentary with picture-in-picture capability through PlayStation Camera, and custom soundtracks using the included audio tracks or your original music imported from a USB drive. You can then share your videos on Facebook or export them to an external USB storage device. The app is packed with plenty of cool, but accessible, tools. It’s simple enough to use for beginning editors, while functioning as a rich video editor for those with more creative aspirations. Check out our new SHAREfactory video that provides a walkthrough of what you can expect: Automatic Pre-download: No more waiting until after a game is released to start downloading select pre-ordered games from PlayStation Store. This new feature allows you to get to your games faster by automatically downloading select pre-ordered games up to several days in advance of the release, so that it’s ready to play as soon as the game is released on launch day. There’s also a countdown timer prior to the release of the game so you’ll know how soon your game will be available for you to start playing. Option to Disable HDCP for Games: This highly requested feature will allow you to have the option to turn off HDCP for games so you can capture longer gameplay sessions directly from your HDMI output and export them elsewhere. USB Export Option for Captured Gameplay: It’s now even easier to show off your heroic gaming moments and the SHAREfactory videos you create with the world using this feature to export your videos and screenshots to a USB drive. Just click on the DUALSHOCK 4 SHARE button, save your gameplay on a USB drive, and then share your proudest achievements on other social networks and other video platforms. Live Broadcasting in HD and Archiving Support: We’ve increased the resolution for live broadcasts so you and your friends can watch games livestreamed in 720p HD. You can also archive your broadcasts on Twitch or Ustream and watch them again later. New SHARE Options: We’ve got a number of new SHARE settings that will give you better control of what you want to share with your friends. Here is what you can look forward to:Change the default gameplay recording time in the SHARE menu under Video Clip Settings. Save only the video clips and screenshots you want by selecting Upload Screenshots or Upload Video Clips for each capture. Also upload video clips and screenshots during your live gameplay broadcasts. Select specific Facebook audiences to share each video or screenshot with. New DUALSHOCK 4 Options: New light bar settings have been added for DUALSHOCK 4, allowing you to change it to Bright, Medium or Dim in the Settings menu. The touchpad has also been updated, allowing you to navigate the on-screen keyboard using the DUALSHOCK 4 touchpad. New Friends Options: It’s now easier to find Friends and send requests with the ability to search Friends-of-Friends, view Mutual Friends on another user’s profile, and accept Friend requests directly from the Friends list. New Trophies Sort Option: You can now sort Trophies by rarity in the Options menu. PlayStation Store Payment Support: Similar to PS3, we’re introducing Alternative Payment Methods (APMs) for PS4 for content purchased on PS Store, starting with PayPal support. More PlayStation Camera Commands: More voice commands are added to PlayStation Camera, allowing you to launch the apps installed on your PS4 with the sound of your voice. New PlayStation Plus Icon: For Plus members, you’ll now have the PS Plus icon appear next to your SEN ID on the login screen, home screen and other areas across the PS4 system’s sleek user interface. Music Unlimited SHARE Options: With a Music Unlimited subscription, you can easily share your favorite songs with your friends by pressing the SHARE button on your DUALSHOCK 4. I'm updating my system now. The touchpad keyboard functionality should be a good improvement. This update should also finally fix the Share button not saving the correct video. I'll have to play some BF4 this weekend just to get some video captures to see how it all works now. This post has been promoted to an article

    Playstation Now

Playstation Now, formally known as just Sony's Gaikai technology, will be going into a closed beta in the US starting at the end of January 2014. This could be the beginning of the end for consoles. I don't think consoles will be obsolete in the next decade, but if game streaming eventually becomes the new standard, we will no longer need to purchase consoles or high end PCS. If a game can be streamed we will only need a device on our end to interact with and display the game. With a smart tv and a gamepad, we won't have to worry about buying a new video card or dropping $500+ on new hardware because the games will be completely run on company servers. Playstation Now will also support multiplayer, trophies and playstation network messaging. We discussed before about Playstation becoming a service, see (Is PlayStation Going to Compete with Steam?). Competing with Steam does not appear to be the case however. Steam allows people to buy licenses of games, download and play them. The Playstation Now service has mentioned nothing at all about purchasing games. As it is now, it will be a game renting or subscription only service. This could be a very big game changer. If Sony charges a flat rate fee like netflix, then gamers around the world might jump right on the offer. Imagine paying $7.99 a month for a massive game library on demand. No downloading and installing.. just pick a title from a netflix style menu and start playing a game. Source: Polygon Click here to view the article

    PS4 and Xbox One privacy

http://www.gamesradar.com/sony-updates-ps4s-terms-service-remove-your-privacy-jk-you-never-had-any-begin/ This doesn't really surprise me.. I assumed they'd have full access to all the info stored on their servers. Just like Facebook and every other site. As long as they don't sell my information then I'm content with them knowing what games I play.

    Contrast

I saw this game on Kotaku and it peaked my interest because it's puzzle platforming reminds me a little bit of limbo. The story is interesting so far and the gameplay is unique... the game it self has its bugs, but I can't complain since it was free via PS+. I love the 20s era theme. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qOpaJkh4jY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nP_WaE2Lxpw

    PS4 launches November 15th!

Sony announced at the end of their Gamescom press conference that PS4 will be available in the US November 15th! Also worth noting, If you purchase Battlefield 4, Assassin's Creed IV, Call of Duty: Ghosts, or Watch Dogs on Playstation 3, you will be able to buy the Playstation 4 digital version for a "significantly discounted price" once it becomes available. EA, Activision, Ubisoft, and WB have partnered up with Sony in this deal most likely to combat Gamestop's plan to offer a similar deal where you can trade in those said games and upgrade to the next gen version for $10. Source: IGN http://www.ign.com/a...upgrade-program. It will be interesting to see how they go about doing this. I assume you will be able to keep your PS3 version making this a better deal than gamestops. The question is are they going to put a coupon in the game case, and will gamestop stoop to opening each case and removing the coupons as they have done in the past to benefit their own program. Oh, and console digital downloads FTW. I'll never leave the house to buy a game again. Example http://gamerant.com/...ns-case-101351/ Click here to view the article

  22. Sony's President Shuhei Yoshida went on twitter today and announced that you will not need a PS+ membership to be able to share and stream your gaming experiences. This comes in light of Microsoft stating yesterday that you will need an Xbox Live Gold account to use their gaming DVR. This is yet another blunder by MS after they decided to keep their 360 model which does not allow users to access Netflix without XBLG. The PS4 will still allow you to stream Netflix for free as it had on PS3. While you still need PS+ to stream and share your multiplayer gameplay, it still benefits those gamers that like to upload or search for walkthroughs for single player games, solo campaigns, and trophy guides. 24. The Playstation 4 will be noticeably different in how digital games are handled compared to the current PS3: .It appears that the PS4 will try to emulate Steam's success in digital game management by tying your digital games to your specific account. With the games tied to your account you will be able to access your digital games on any PS4 you log into. This is very different compared to how the PS3 handles digital games. Currently the PS3 will allow you to have up to two PS3 consoles active for your digital games. Which means if you own two PS3 consoles you can log into each of those consoles and download any of your digital game purchases. However, it is possible to log into any PS3 system and still access your digital games. By having 1 primary console for your account at your home, you can easily go to a friend's house, use their PS3, log into your PSN account and download your games and start playing. That system would then be considered the second active system for your digital game purchases. Of course, once you finish playing at your friend's house you must remember to not only log off, but also to deactivate your PSN account off their console (PlayStation Support). This is burdensome and many people do not know that they have to do that extra step. The PS4 simplifies this and allows you to log in to any PS4 to play your games. This is where the next major difference between the two systems take place. On a PS3 you can purchase a digital game, download it and all users on that console have access to that game. If the PS4 will have all digital games tied to a specific account, then all users on any console could very well be locked out from having access to playing these games. If all you have for your game systems is a single user account, then this is not an issue. But if you have a family with multiple user accounts for everyone in the house, then this could become a large issue if the only way to play a digital game is to be logged in as the account that owns it. Hopefully the PS4 will have a family sharing option that allows all users on a specific console to play games purchased, because if not, physical game discs will have another advantage over digital.
