Forget tripods, now there are monsterpods and gorillapods

6 posts in this topic

I came across these links and thought I'd share them. Quite a few people here take pics with digital cameras, so check out these new camera tripod replacements.

I don't know if I'd trust the monsterpod one tho, if it stops sticking then your camera will bash onto the ground. O_O

i remember in high school my photography teacher suggested we get the gorillapod since most of the students didnt like the hassle of carrying the big tripods she lent out. she got one later on in that same month so we could play with it. i'd invest in one, but i already have 2 tripods haha. itd be kinda silly to have 3 even if it is compact

1-10 minutes of sticking time is way to much of a range for the safety of a camera.

:picknose: Monsterpod looks like something Spider-Man should have invented...

You have a good point there. Maybe the inventor of monsterpod had spidey as inspiration. :P

Gorillapod looks sweet ... now I need a Camcorder with good memory, recording in HD quality ... at strategic heights zooming in on :sly: ... *cough* people I mean!

I am putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do.

The gallery has been a bit underused over the past year and it might have to do with the fact that I never increased the gallery upload amounts since my initial testing of it. If thats not the case, then oh well, I increased the limits!

AC Elite members can now upload 100 MB of images. The max file size of uploaded images are now 4 MB per image. If you have pictures over 4 MB, the server will deny the upload because I don't have any software in place to auto shrink down an image.

Regular members can now upload 20 MB of images with a max file size of 2 MB per image.

Feel free to upload images to whatever category you have access to as long as the image actually belongs in it. For example, you have a good walking dead image, post it in that gallery if you want to. You can also make your own albums and upload whatever images you want to share.

You can have public, friends only or private galleries. But keep in mind, only upload appropriate images. No vulgar, offensive, etc. images. Also, private albums aren't necessarily private as administrators can access them.

The gallery albums are very useful if you want to upload your own smilies or other images. Once you upload an image to your own galleries, you can click the "My Media" link anywhere on the site where you can make a comment and click to add any image you have previously uploaded to your posts.

Wow. Now that is a simple idea. Its basically a sticker/lense that attaches to your camera on your phone. Way beyond macro pictures.. I can imagine some amazing shots being taken with this.

Well, that's a relief. Still I haven't preorder a PS4 yet due to hating the idea of holding onto money that technically isn't mine. (As in I already gave it to them.... but they haven't taken it yet.) That & I still need to check up on when the PS4 is released this year.

When I first heard about Google Glass I thought it was a dumb concept. Now here it is a few years later and Google is going through with their creation. This accessory will connect to your smart phone / device and it will allow the wearer to access parts of the internet and take pictures / videos of everything they see. They could technically stream their entire day online. I don't think employers would allow it in the workplace.. but that won't stop individuals from now recording everyone without their consent and uploading everything to youtube.

What do you think about Google Glass? Will you be interested in getting one? Or will you be more irritated by people wearing them because you'll have to assume they are always recording?
