  1. why is it so hard too see the fact that guns don't defend people. they kill people

they can act as a deterrent to some, but to others they take your children, your parents.

....but at the end of the day, our 'cultures' are different, i still don't know why women are not allowed to be schooled in some countries, but I'm sure they have their reasons,

and the same for guns in America, if owning a gun makes you feel safe, that's a right you have, put it down to differences in the culture and societies we have.

i just wonder what school will be shot up in the next 6 months, by a kid that's had a bad life, walked into a gun store, no criminal record, a nice shiny visa card.

Apparently you didn't read that article carefully enough or just refuse to believe it.

Leaning towards agreeing with sexist doesn't help.

Only cowards with (illegal) guns in gun free zones cause most crimes. So when such zones don't exist I feel safe.

Easy, based on that article the one with a gun free zone and a not well enough armed police force.

  2. if the general public doesn't have guns, then the police don't need guns, at least the police that patrol the streets. the UK have armed police, but you rarely see them walking around. but have a rapid response rate to the situation (if and when they occur)

lady: a lot has changed as America has matured, old bills such as the 2nd amendment should in my opinion be re-evaluated, as the pictures i showed, the power balance between what a gun had then and now is so huge,. one can kill a man, the other can kill a family, reload and kill em again is needed in the same amount of time

we vote for our leaders, and trust in there wisdom (fuck knows why we don't have a guy like President Palmer from 24 seasons 1-3) therefore theoretically the people should not need the means to police the government, as the people choose the government, and if the majority of the country are happy with it being run that way, then unfortunately it will stay that way

as a modern society, we should not need the means to protect ourselves with guns,

that's why we have police, who serve and protect, some areas better then others ofc.

so if you own a gun, you own it for the sole purpose of killing someone of your own nationality. what country should have that policy in this day and age.

the army protects the countries boarders. and the police protect inside.

unfortunately, the army are not protecting the countries boarders, there off killing ''terrorists'' and potential ''terrorists'', and the police are beating down people of an ethnic group. so the society America has, i do see why people want guns available, but my whole point is, the current situation does not have the be the way it is

and the current state of affairs is only making the situation worse. years ago, you get in a fight, you come home with bruises. and a swollen lip, and a black eye. now your mum gets a phone call explaining why there's 9mm bullets in your chest.

the more fear we have in this happening, the more the government gets looked upon to step in, the more freedom the individual looses. and the more people feel the need to protect themselves from an enemy that isn't there, until they went into a gun shop, bought a gun to protect them selves, gets fired from their job for reasons he doesn't understand, decides to use that gun to rob a guys house, and ends up shooting a kid in the chest before you pop him one for intruding

the only plus side i can see to owning a gun is in the event of dawn of the dead, and zombies walk the earth, you get to kick some ass before they get you, as opposed to run like a sissy

    sorry for the long windiness

but i cant be the only one with the opinion that guns are bad. they are build for the purpose of ending another's life

The thinking that if the public doesn't have guns the police don't need them. This kind of thing is similar to what lead to the North Hollywood Shootout. The public didn't have them and they didn't want the police to have powerful weapons. This lead to 2 bank robbers with illegal fire arms taking on the entire police force. Things didn't change for the better until the SWAT Team came in.

The 2nd amendment is a freedom we have a right to in the US. Just because your country lacks a freedom doesn't mean ours should too.

  3. guns dont cause or prevent crime really, people do,

but the point i was highlighting was no guns = no gun crime

look at nuclear weapons, if everyone had them, your at a stalemate, no one does anything, all good (much like that town), but you get one crazy mofo who presses the big red button, and all hell breaks loose

and i think most of the world would agree it would be a better place with out nukes,

and thats also my opinion on guns

they should invent light sabers ;p, id buy a car just to own a real light saber ;p

Guns don't cause giant explosions that wipe out cities.

The only thing you got right was people cause crimes. Not to mention your last statement on light sabers ignores the idea of light saber crimes.

  4. giving away a free gun O_O

it is actually for the benefit of the world

guns being given away, ---> more gun crime, more ppl dying, so less people to demand gas

but seriously, what marketing guy came up with the idea of giving away guns O_O

In an article I read titled 'Guntown USA' no one there has died via gunshot. It was made mandatory there that the head of a household have a gun.

And apparently criminals only target people in areas where guns are banned. Who would think criminals would break laws about gun restricted zones?... I mean... wouldn't they magically not break that law despite breaking all the others?

  5. wow X'D wtf are people gonna do with a handgun? well.. thats obvious, but still.

thats a really good marketing incentive though. they realize they can get a hell of a lot more people offering gas rather than money.

I would reenact that scene from Family Guy after Brian got a free handgun then accidentally shot down Super Satan & his glass jar of marmalade...

  6. Well it was better than I thought & my DH4 annalogy is way off. I was under the impression it was going to be an old dude keeping a nerd out of his daughter's pants.

Sadly to say or gladly... I forgot my broken glasses so I couldn't tell how bad the graphics were...

I didn't like the tarzan bit... or swarms of bugs that seem to come from The Mummy... And the bit with the tree did seem to be cartoony, but I think the 3 water falls made up for some of it.

The idea of involving aliens did seem out of place. But looking back at the 3 previous films. Two involving Christian Artifacts & 1 magic rocks I'd say it would have still ended up just as weird if Indy had met 'God'.

  7. Based on the first vid I'd like to say if you look up previous post not only have I talked about Ron Paul the most... I had also had the first post about Ron Paul... Not counting the one on Harry Potter... Point being I might have a brain... I just need more time to find it... Hopefully not 100 years...

Base on the 3rd vid in a perfect world the Republican vs Democratic Presidential Candidates would be Ron Paul vs Mike Gravel; Kucinich maybe VP Democratic Candidate...

  8. I'm pretty sure a person with a PhD in this field can make a better "educated" guess than the both of us. Maybe its just me, but I don't see how guessing the PS3 can never take the lead is the only unfanboyish thing to say. If thats the only so called educated guess to make, then I guess its fact?

Microsoft won't just become a hardware business, they gained their glory through software, and its all they will ever be. The few hardware products they have are craptastic in quality (as far as construction goes).

I'm aware of how much a plasma screen costs, but that doesn't change the fact that both the PS3 and Xbox 360 were built to perform on these types of devices. To someone that can afford it and wants to play games, it would make no sense to buy a pile of PC parts rather than a killer home entertainment set up. For those of us that can't afford it, oh well it works just fine on the TV we have. There are many many factors pertaining to the development of new consoles other than the PC.

The PS3 can't take the lead right now. Its still over priced & still lacking in major 1st party games. What is ridiculous is it taking the lead once this console war is already over. A PhD in predictions makes as much sense as Miss Cleo.

If I were Microsoft I'd try to fix the problems the company has with hardware. Saying they'll never be anything else is fanboyish.

So instead of the few who can afford (to make) a good PC it'll become the few who can afford a Big Plasma TV? And yeah my TV works fine enough. That's why it makes no sense for me to find HD that big of a deal. Most people who can't afford them don't need a Xbox 360 or PS3 for detail they can't see.

  9. Predictions are always fanboyism. Back in the last console war I would have been grateful if the ones about Nintendo dying had been true but that never happened and they were all over the Internet.

And a 60 inch plasma TV cost over 1000. Add the PS3 at current price it would make a little more sense just to buy PC parts.

I highly doubt Microsoft will see a blue ray player for its console(s) anytime soon. So if Microsoft is really serious about competing with Sony they'll have to become a hardware business as well.

The PS3 is a watered down PC. Intriguing if you want a blue ray player, but currently no solid ground beyond that. Maybe it'll be worth the buy with God Of War 3. But with 3rd parties eventually porting their exclusives they don't seem to be a solid reason to get a console that badly.

Not knowing & taking an "educated" guess are 2 different things. But making wild predictions years into the future is just fanboyish.

  10. wii shouldnt even be considered in the format war, much like the gameboys, / ds, they are usually in addition to either the PS or XB, there fun machines that you nplay when u feel like every now and again.

hence why so many people have them.

most games are on the ps3 / 360 --> gta etc

so really the console war imo is ps3 v Xb360

the wii is not a next gen console, but just a home entertainment system. ive yet to meet a person who owns a wii and not a ps3 or xb as there main gaming machine.

im not saying ps3 will out sell the xb at all, but MGS and FF are some of the biggest games ever.. and are estimated to sell consoles for them alone

Currently the only console actually in the format war is PS3. Microsoft barely touched the format war issue with that add on. But its not imposible for the next console war after this one to have another format war.

And saying the Wii isn't a next gen console because its a GameCube with a funny controller might as well right now be Microsoft saying they're 1st if you ignore that weird console ahead of them.

  11. Beside the fact of a supposed 10 year lifespan. It is assumed that because a console has the best graphics of it's generation it will take 1st when all is said & done. The article can pass as Sony fanboyism based on that alone. But if you look at Sony's past wins they had the least amazing hardware for graphics (With the exception of Sega who had the worst).

Only in "Bizarro World" did N64 beat PS1 & Xbox beat PS2. Well now that PS3 is for the graphic nuts & is in third. What are PS3 owners to do but pretend that they will dominate the future? I can only guess they'll act like they live in Bizarro World.

And to assume that Blue-Ray is the final winner in all to come Format Wars & hold at least say Microsoft back is ridiculous.

    *Edit

And to base winning on region (like Japan) is also meaningless. The only number that matters in the end comes from world sales.

    *2nd Edit

I forgot to mention that currently Wii is 1st in world sales & has been inching it's way to a near a neck & neck tie with Xbox 360 in America. All of this despite Xbox 360 year start. To say its all because of 360's early start is a poor excuse to run by.
