  1. Hopefully if this picks up we can make this into a new section dedicated to books ^_^

This thread is to share books we have read, giving a synopsis, what we liked and/or didn't like.

Myself took up reading for leisure only a couple years ago, prior to that, I honestly never read a book other then comics/graphic novels or text/educational books.

Some of my favourite books of all time:

    Batman: Knightfall

This book is about Batman and Bane.

Bane is very cunning and powerful enemy of Batman.

He makes it his goal to break and end Batman.

The book is set in 3 sections.

The defeat of Batman, The rise of a new Batman, and the return.

Bane using his cunning and strength cripples Batman by 1st exhausting him mentally and physically to breaking point.

Bruce realises Batman is needed in Gotham, a Gets a replacement, while travelling to follow up on a kidnapping. The new Batman however cares more for punishing the guilty then helping the innocent.

The last section is Bruce returning, to have to face the Batman he left behind, who has forged the mantle of Batman to a new image.

I loved this book because it explores the characters. Why is Batman the best, why is Bane a monster.

That Batman above all else is a human.

what i liked most of all was Bruce finally admits to himself he likes Violence, and dominating another in a fight, and how he relearns to be Batman.

Overall, the book is an easy read, contains violence, blood, not a children's book, fast flowing story, not boring at any part.

The climax of the book could be considered a let down, but on the other hand felt right.

I would recommend this book to any fans of the Hero genre

  2. i think the Actor will have to prove a lot,

Unlike most Super heroes, Thor never had his own cartoon or 70's tv show or previous film in need of a reboot, so people dont know what to expect and that uncertainty falls on the actor

Personally i think he looks the role, he has a norse look to him,

Now all that is needed is the acting chops,

If an Aussie can pull off Wolverine, i believe this guy will do Thor proud

  3. Rumours are flying, could be a new game or anime

If the manga is set to end in the next couple years, it could be a good time to make an Anime, people are more open to Anime then ever before,

with modern games the screens could easily be from a new game or anime, either would be awesome

if it is a Game i just hope for a UK release

also Berserk with modern animation ^^

shame the dubb would be different actors given the time difference from the original anime till now,

the Eng dubb was amazing, (you dubb haters need to be open minded)

Also the new anime could simple be a 90min feature as opposed to a full blown series

    Here are the screens

  4. if that was the case, hulk should smash them.

if i had to guess, it will be some bad guy who manipulates or tricks or even brain washes Hulk, or simply manipulates the situation to put Hulk as the bad guy

then Avengers like always immediately attack hulk, eventually find out he is innocent, but the damage is done. city is burned down, and Hulk is the bad guy again

  5. Superman Homepage has learned that Warner Premiere's next DC Universe animated title Superman/Batman: Apocalypse will hit Blu-ray and DVD on September 28. The movie is based on the second story arc, "The Supergirl from Krypton," from Jeph Loeb and Michael Turner's the "Superman/Batman." Here is the cover artwork:

    supermanbatmanapocalypse.jpg

    Story is:

Supergirl arrives on earth after being in hibernation since Krypton went Kaboom, for some reason she is slightly stronger then Superman

after some time she is kidnapped and brainwashed by apocalypse and turns her into some sexy looking bad ass bad guy

personally i would have gone for love slave

Superman and Batman team up to save her

    Should be good ^^

  6. Holy crap this was awesome

    so dark and unforgiving

people die and die a lot for that matter

the beginning sets the pace of the movie with scenes from one of Batman's most Tragic events (no not his parents death)

Joker is just plain evil, and funny (scene with him, asking for men after what he just did was lol)

even though it was only 75mins long, you get a full on experience

also you learn a fair bit about Joker, such as a recap of his origins and what he actually wants from Batman.

I didnt like Jensen Ackles voice much, seems out of place in this gritty tale

    overall 10/10 for an animation

only drawbacks was no Mark Hamill or Kevin Conroy

  7. the Red Hood is a vigilante like Batman, but doesnt mind crossing the line that Batman wont

and Joker gets in the middle of them

Jensen Ackles is the voice of Red Hood

it is a shame they dont make an animated series, the last movie of sup/batman was awesome and this looks good, very dark compared to JL, would appeal to a mature audience

  8. You wouldn't like it when he's angry! And that's one reason why Ed Norton won't be morphing into the big green fella once again in the upcoming Marvel flick, 'The Avengers.'

According to Hitfix.com, Norton, 40, who portrayed the angry green 10-foot giant's human alter ego Bruce Banner in 2008's 'The Incredible Hulk,' has been dropped by Marvel in the superhero team-up mega movie 'The Avengers.'

A spokesman for Marvel Studios reveals that their decision not to bring back Ed Norton in reprising Dr. Banner's role in the Avengers is not based on monetary factors but on someone having qualities of a team player, one who thrives working as part of an ensemble of talented stars.

"We are looking to announce a name actor who fulfills these requirements, and is passionate about the iconic role in the coming weeks," adds the spokesperson.

It's not so long ago that Edward Norton blew a short fuse compared to the green behemoth itself, when the actor reportedly clashed with studio execs, eventually involving director Louis Leterrier in the making of 'The Incredible Hulk.' The actor allegedly made a big fuss over the film's running time.

'The Avengers,' which is set to make its big screen debut in 2012, will feature A-list celebrities to save the world from mayhem, namely, Robert Downey Jr. as the Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as the mighty Thor, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, and Scarlet Johansson to reprise her role as the Black Widow.

Now it's still unconfirmed as to who'll be given the green light to play the green guy, but whoever it is, he'll be the third actor to get real angry! Eric Bana started the trend in Ang Lee's 'The Hulk' in 2003.

And try to make the Hulk look more realistic this time, puh-lease! He looked like Shrek in steroids in Ang Lee's version, and nearly pulled it off in Leterrier's version. Almost, but no cigar fellas!
