  1. If you download copyrighted material, your ISP might start scolding you by sending you emails, redirecting file sharing websites to education ones and even reduce your download speeds for days at a time. But that seems to be the extent of what will happen. No personal information is to be sent to copyright holders which would mean no lawsuits for sharing copyright material should ever happen. 2. http://www.icv2.com/articles/news/14772.html Wow. I never thought those guys would get hammered by the law. But if they were already sentenced, how is the site still live? You would think the courts would close it down... unless its no longer located in sweden and out of the founders hands... *shrugs* They must have created a self-evolving torrent site.
  3. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2008-10-28/funimation-sues-ca-retail-sites-over-alleged-bootlegs Click the link for the rest of the article. The lawsuits started about two months ago, but I didn't know about this until I tried to go to discountanimedvd.com. I guess their site is down until the lawsuit is completed. Guh. That place had some the best imported (I guess illegal) wall scrolls. On a related note, I've noticed that Funi is suing and sending cease and desist letters all over the internet, to torrent sites, fansub groups etc. I read something about some anime companies keeping their eyes on irc channels now for copyright infringement. What do you think, good or bad for the anime industry? And good or bad for you? -p
