New Animated Voltron Series ‘Imminent’

7 posts in this topic

A deal for an animated cable TV series featuring Voltron is “imminent,” according to Hollywood Reporter, in the wake of UTA signing the property and rights-holder World Event Productions as a new client. The agency is also attempting to sign videogame and toy deals.

A Voltron film recently got new producers, which will move the development of the feature along (see “Voltron Movie Gets New Producers”).

Would you watch a new Voltron? I probably will. :P

"That fairy needs to stop shouting in my ear, or I'm going to throw her friend I have trapped in the bottle into a lava pit or something. HEY, LISTEN! No, YOU listen. If something's important, just say so without yelling at me. Or fly over to it and change color like you usually do. Just because I'm busy mowing the lawn and hoping I'll find some spare change, doesn't mean I can't hear you." - Link

For fun ... yeah.

Nicktoons has announced that the new Voltron series, Voltron Force, will premiere on June 16th at 8:30 ET. The show was announced last year as Voltron Panthera Force (see “Voltron Toons on Nicktoons”).

Mattel has Voltron toys riding on the series (see “Mattel Gets Voltron”). Privateer released its Voltron Monsterpocalypse miniatures game last year (see “Review of Voltron: Defender of the Universe”).

Viz (see “Viz Media Expands Kids Imprint”) and Dynamite (see “Dynamite Lands Voltron Comics License”) are releasing their Voltron products in 2012.

This is without a doubt the best thing I have seen on tv this entire year. 4 series in a massive justice league / captain America civil war style plot spanning 4 episodes and it was amazing. I really hope they make another crossover special next year. Superheroes versus the ultimate Nazis. The episodes are online if anyone wants to watch:

We'll have to wait until 2018 for the new anime series.

I loved this cartoon when i was a kid. The animation looks good, the music is great, the voice actors are a good match. I'll watch this.

I watched the first 3 episodes of this tonight and I'm loving it so far. Unlike the movie where everyone is stuck in a grocery store, the bulk of the cast is trapped in a mall, while others are in a church or on the road trying to avoid getting killed. Spike has done a good job with this. Depending on how they treat this series it could be their own Walking Dead kind of show. No zombies needed here with the amount of monsters ready to kill everyone.
