  1. I think they did use the sound from the cartoon. Think about it. In the trailer, most people had no idea what the movie was until that sound played. Then just about everyone connected it with Transformers. *L*

    And I'm sorry, I liked Bumblebee, I thought he was sweet and cool and all, but I'm an Optimus Prime fan. He was my favorite in the original cartoon, and that trend continues now. ^_^; And I know people are complining about his color job and new look, but I loved it! He looks so much more bad-ass in this. If they people that made the original cartoon could've draw him that way, they probally would have. He looks more...alien...I think, but he's still familar. He's got the same attitude and the same voice (a master stroke, btw, he's not Optimus Prime without that voice!).

    And people are also complaning about Megatron's look. And yeah, I can see their point, but think of it in terms of the movie's plot. He's been frozen for several thousand years, has every intention of killing humanity off, and is totally badass enough to just go outside and start doing so. Why waste time and energy with disguses? *shrugs*

  2. Ok, just got back from seeing it myself. I rather enjoyed it. Not being a die-hard fan of the original, I can't comment on the discrepancies like others are doing, but I did enjoy it.

    One thing that bugged me was that it seemed rather rushed. I dunno, I think they probally edited out a lot of good scenes that helped keep the action from running together, because there was a great deal of abrutness to it. I also didn't like the camera action during the fighting. I'm sorry, I know it's a way to blend real and cg, but it always gives me motion sickness. I HATE that!! I mean, half the time I couldn't tell what was happening or who was hitting who and then I had to look away because it was making me sick. How are people with motion sickness supposed to enjoy movies now!

    *ok, stopping rant there, sorry*

    Anyways, yes I love Bumblebee, but honestly. Who wouldn't love having a car that looks like a Camero and can transform into something that will kick someone's ass? XD He'd be my best friend too.

    And I liked the humor. The kept it out of the big ass fight scene at the end, and it kept the movie from being to heavy. In a way, the humor was the 'human' element. The bad-assedness was the Transformers. *shurgs*

    And for music? I'd've been happy to hear this. ^_^;

    Anyways, I'd go see it again in a heartbeat. It was worth the drive to the theatre to watch, and hopefully any sequals won't degrade the quality of this one.

    Oh, and a great quote posted on my linkshell's MB (something about a reply to some dicussion of how Transformers will never compaire to Shakespere):

    Besides, if Optimus Prime walked down the street TODAY and said, "I need Earth's help to defeat the Decepticons!" every male aged 23-30 would pick up whatever they had at hand and follow Prime TO THE DEATH. I'd like to see Shakespeare get the same response.

    I would just like to add to that that there are a lot of women that age that would join. ^_^;

  3. Noticed this last week, but SciFi is now airing some anime on Monday nights. What I know of is Noien and Tokko, and they finished Macross Plus last night.

    I've been watching Noien, and while I'm not a fan of the animation style, I'm interested enough in the series to keep watching and find out what's happeniing. Tokko, I'm not sure of. I'll have to give it a little bit more. And Macross Plus was my first real anime that my best friend coherced me into watching, and watching it again brought back some good memories. ^_^; Anyhoo, any thoughts and what they're playing or anything?

  4. oh man, Tron is definatly one of those classics....i never wore a frisbee, but i would run around the yard pretending it was the inside of the computer...and then, when Reboot came out, i would mix the two....XD

  5. Only an idiot would be scared about being deployed. If someone says they're not, they're either lying or fucking nuts and you should avoid them as much as possible. >< As a Navy daughter, I also want to say thanks. I mean, I don't like the war and all the fighting because I think it's a stupid way to have a disagreement. But someone has to do it, and I'll always support those that have guts and the intelligence to be able to do it. */cheer*

    And for words of advice, all I can give you is 213 things not to do. *nods*

  6. Yeah. Almost in a car wreck this morning. With a semi. -_-;

    We're driving down I635. It's heavy traffic, and the center of the road is being done something to it, so the 'wall of death' is right on the edge, with no shoulder. I'm in the far inside lane because it tends to move the fastest overall in traffic this thick. I'm just driving, we're moving along at an OK speed, I'm actually passing this semi and I'm about halfway past him when he starts drifting into my lane. I'm not to worried because this happens to everyone, really, so I hit my horn to warn him to stop playing with his dick and drive. He keeps drifting over, so I hit my brakes and lay on the horn. He STILL keeps drifting over, and now I'm stopped completely because I don't want to get crushed between him and the wall of death. He still keeps coming, clips my truck and knocks out the side mirror, then drifts back over like nothing was wrong. *grrrrrrr* Scared the hell out of me, probally the guy behind me that I think got hit by my mirror, but I keep going because there's no where to pull over and as my truck is still driveable (and the fucker didn't even slow down or stop), I keep going. I called the company when I got to work, and they might actually pay for the repair, but now I get to drive around heavy Dallas traffic with no right side mirror. I'm not as angry as I was because the company seems to want to work with me and the only damage was my mirror, but DAMN that scared the hell out of me! O.@

  7. I love the books. There were some of my favorites growing up, and they're still good. (ok, very hokey considering how young they're written for, but then I don't actually read them anymore, just the ones i add to my collection that i didn't have growing up, and that only because i read every single book i own) Yes, she cared about looks and how she got along with people, but not all that much. She was a strong, independent and intelligent young woman who did enjoy seeing her boyfriend and hanging out with her friends, but took on some serious and life threatening mysteries and came out on top. She was a damn good role model for young girls, and now, that seems to have been ruined. I guess it goes to show just how badly things have gotten, really. I mean, apparently being popular is much more important that being smart, and heaven FORBID they actually show something scary that could be REAL to younger kids. -_-

  8. Ok, when we went to see POC3, I saw a poster for a Nancy Drew movie. I was not happy. I mean, I know how a lot of stuff from my childhood has been 'remade' to be PC or more 'cool' for kids. But I didn't think much of it. I figured it'd be Scooby-Dooish, which is bad, but at least the characters are there and they're semi-correct.

    Then I saw a commercial for it today.

    It's much, MUCH worse than I thought.

    Apparently, she's some girl that was all popular at home, but when she goes off to school, she's not popular anymore. Seriously. That's what the preview narrerator guy actually says. No mention of Bess and George, or even Ned her BOYFRIEND in all of the incarnations of the books, from the original to the 'Case Files' series that happened in the late 80's-early 90's. I'm not entiery sure how the whole SOLVING MYSTERIES falls into place there, if it even does, considering that's what she's SUPPOSED to do; indeed, in every single Nancy Drew book, the premise is that she's a teen detective and solves mysteries. What's sad is that I'm sure she'll uncover some Scooby-Dooish ghost thing and that will make her popular.

    WHAT. THE. FUCK.

    I think I speak for anyone my age that grew up reading Nancy Drew stories and enjoyed them when I say STOP FUCKING UP MY FAVORITE CHILDHOOD BOOKS!!! I checked out the site for it, and yeah. There's a mystery. A haunted mansion. A fucking haunted mansion. As in, Scooby-Doo haunted. (yes, i'm using that a lot. that pretty much explains it) Yeah. Not happy about this at all. I mean, I knew it was only a matter of time before it was done, but why so badly???? *sobs* Please, don't let your loved ones see this movie!!! Make them read the books. They're all short, written for younger girls, and very easy reads. And so much better!! *dies*

  9. I knew it was something stupidly simple. ^_^; But it still says Data can't be added. And you don't have to walk me through everything. If I don't know how to do something you've said, I'll ask.

    Also, I don't really need a check to see if a field is filled out. Depending on what I'm doing, I may need to leave a field blank. I'm not sure of the best way to take it out of the code you've got and make it work. (but, frankly, I'll be happy just to get the code to work before I worry about that! ^_^; )

  10. ok, first of all, i'm using the same connect script i'm using for everything else....and it'll tell me if it's not connecting, so that's good....

    also, i don't have those fields in my table, so i changed the script to reflect that....they're all correct, and it's the same ones that allow me to grab the data.....

    here's what i've got (and yes, i'm not using the seperate connect file, i prefer it this way because i'm using several different databases, so it's easier for me to keep track this way)

  11. Ok, tried the form from goku, and still no dice. It says Data cannot be added. -_- I honestly don't care about leaving fields blank or allowing javascript because I'm the only one that will use it. I just want an easy way to update without having to log into my hosting control panel and navigating to my SQL admin panel. I'm a bit lost right now, because it retrieves information just fine. I just can't find a way to insert new data.

  12. ...the main bad guy had Davy Joes kill him...they said that in the movie...jsut didnt really give a reason why he had to kill him

    Probally so he wouldn't go around sinking any more of the ITC ships.

    The biggest plot hole for me was when they were fighting the flagship of the armada. You know, after Turner gains the Flying Dutchman. Ok, two ships, one on each side. Even with that, you have three times the cannons. And you let them destroy you. I'm sorry, I don't care how nuts my commander was, I wouldn't just sit there and let them bomb my ship without returing fire. I find it very hard to believe there wasn't ONE person on the ship that would say 'Screw it, I'm firing!'. And then, the armada just turns and runs away?? Come on, there's still more of them than the pirates! There should've been something else that scared them off than just the destruction of ONE ship. O.o

  13. Yeah, there was a lot of things I think could've been done better. Mostly, just plot holes and things that could've be tightened up with better writing. But, it was an enjoyable time and the scene where Jack Sparrow is at the beginning talking with himself was so well done! Johnny Depp made that movie. Without him, it wouldn't have been any good!
