1. Only an idiot would be scared about being deployed. If someone says they're not, they're either lying or fucking nuts and you should avoid them as much as possible. >< As a Navy daughter, I also want to say thanks. I mean, I don't like the war and all the fighting because I think it's a stupid way to have a disagreement. But someone has to do it, and I'll always support those that have guts and the intelligence to be able to do it. */cheer* And for words of advice, all I can give you is 213 things not to do. *nods*

 5. so'm i...if i hadn't stopped, he would have crushed me against the wall..........
 6. Yeah. Almost in a car wreck this morning. With a semi. We're driving down I635. It's heavy traffic, and the center of the road is being done something to it, so the 'wall of death' is right on the edge, with no shoulder. I'm in the far inside lane because it tends to move the fastest overall in traffic this thick. I'm just driving, we're moving along at an OK speed, I'm actually passing this semi and I'm about halfway past him when he starts drifting into my lane. I'm not to worried because this happens to everyone, really, so I hit my horn to warn him to stop playing with his dick and drive. He keeps drifting over, so I hit my brakes and lay on the horn. He STILL keeps drifting over, and now I'm stopped completely because I don't want to get crushed between him and the wall of death. He still keeps coming, clips my truck and knocks out the side mirror, then drifts back over like nothing was wrong. *grrrrrrr* Scared the hell out of me, probally the guy behind me that I think got hit by my mirror, but I keep going because there's no where to pull over and as my truck is still driveable (and the fucker didn't even slow down or stop), I keep going. I called the company when I got to work, and they might actually pay for the repair, but now I get to drive around heavy Dallas traffic with no right side mirror. I'm not as angry as I was because the company seems to want to work with me and the only damage was my mirror, but DAMN that scared the hell out of me! O.@
 7. I love the books. There were some of my favorites growing up, and they're still good. (ok, very hokey considering how young they're written for, but then I don't actually read them anymore, just the ones i add to my collection that i didn't have growing up, and that only because i read every single book i own) Yes, she cared about looks and how she got along with people, but not all that much. She was a strong, independent and intelligent young woman who did enjoy seeing her boyfriend and hanging out with her friends, but took on some serious and life threatening mysteries and came out on top. She was a damn good role model for young girls, and now, that seems to have been ruined. I guess it goes to show just how badly things have gotten, really. I mean, apparently being popular is much more important that being smart, and heaven FORBID they actually show something scary that could be REAL to younger kids.
 8. Ok, when we went to see POC3, I saw a poster for a Nancy Drew movie. I was not happy. I mean, I know how a lot of stuff from my childhood has been 'remade' to be PC or more 'cool' for kids. But I didn't think much of it. I figured it'd be Scooby-Dooish, which is bad, but at least the characters are there and they're semi-correct. Then I saw a commercial for it today. It's much, MUCH worse than I thought. Apparently, she's some girl that was all popular at home, but when she goes off to school, she's not popular anymore. Seriously. That's what the preview narrerator guy actually says. No mention of Bess and George, or even Ned her BOYFRIEND in all of the incarnations of the books, from the original to the 'Case Files' series that happened in the late 80's-early 90's. I'm not entiery sure how the whole SOLVING MYSTERIES falls into place there, if it even does, considering that's what she's SUPPOSED to do; indeed, in every single Nancy Drew book, the premise is that she's a teen detective and solves mysteries. What's sad is that I'm sure she'll uncover some Scooby-Dooish ghost thing and that will make her popular. WHAT. THE. FUCK. I think I speak for anyone my age that grew up reading Nancy Drew stories and enjoyed them when I say STOP FUCKING UP MY FAVORITE CHILDHOOD BOOKS!!! I checked out the site for it, and yeah. There's a mystery. A haunted mansion. A fucking haunted mansion. As in, Scooby-Doo haunted. (yes, i'm using that a lot. that pretty much explains it) Yeah. Not happy about this at all. I mean, I knew it was only a matter of time before it was done, but why so badly???? *sobs* Please, don't let your loved ones see this movie!!! Make them read the books. They're all short, written for younger girls, and very easy reads. And so much better!! *dies*
 9. must be zonealarm then.....it doesn't seem to be happening at home..........
 10. What are you fooling around with? Every time I log in, everything is marked as read! And I know people have been posting.
 11. I knew it was something stupidly simple. But it still says Data can't be added. And you don't have to walk me through everything. If I don't know how to do something you've said, I'll ask. -- phpMyAdmin SQL Dump -- version 2.6.4-pl3 -- http://www.phpmyadmin.net -- -- Host: localhost:3306 -- Generation Time: Jun 08, 2007 at 06:44 AM -- Server version: 4.0.26 -- PHP Version: 5.0.5 -- -- Database: `graphics` -- -- -------------------------------------------------------- -- -- Table structure for table `testing` -- CREATE TABLE `testing` ( `id` smallint(50) NOT NULL auto_increment, `name` varchar(50) NOT NULL default '', `type` varchar(50) NOT NULL default '', `style` varchar(50) NOT NULL default '', `about` text NOT NULL, `notes` varchar(150) NOT NULL default '', `series` varchar(50) NOT NULL default '', `link` varchar(50) NOT NULL default '', `view` varchar(50) NOT NULL default '', `image` varchar(50) NOT NULL default '', `front` varchar(50) NOT NULL default '', PRIMARY KEY (`id`) ) TYPE=MyISAM AUTO_INCREMENT=70 ; -- -- Dumping data for table `testing` -- Also, I don't really need a check to see if a field is filled out. Depending on what I'm doing, I may need to leave a field blank. I'm not sure of the best way to take it out of the code you've got and make it work. (but, frankly, I'll be happy just to get the code to work before I worry about that! )
 12. ok, first of all, i'm using the same connect script i'm using for everything else....and it'll tell me if it's not connecting, so that's good.... also, i don't have those fields in my table, so i changed the script to reflect that....they're all correct, and it's the same ones that allow me to grab the data..... here's what i've got (and yes, i'm not using the seperate connect file, i prefer it this way because i'm using several different databases, so it's easier for me to keep track this way)

Insert New Record

Insert New Record
<?php // Connect to the database server $dbc = @mysql_connect("localhost","******","******"); if (!$dbc) { echo( "
Unable to connect to the " . 13. Ok, tried the form from goku, and still no dice. It says Data cannot be added. I honestly don't care about leaving fields blank or allowing javascript because I'm the only one that will use it. I just want an easy way to update without having to log into my hosting control panel and navigating to my SQL admin panel. I'm a bit lost right now, because it retrieves information just fine. I just can't find a way to insert new data.
 14. Probally so he wouldn't go around sinking any more of the ITC ships.
 15. Yeah, there was a lot of things I think could've been done better. Mostly, just plot holes and things that could've be tightened up with better writing. But, it was an enjoyable time and the scene where Jack Sparrow is at the beginning talking with himself was so well done! Johnny Depp made that movie. Without him, it wouldn't have been any good!
 16. Ok, here's the thing. I'm trying to use a simple PHP script to take data from an HTML form and send it to the database. I've tried about 5 different variations of it, all doing the same thing, and I'm getting the same error: I can't find what's causing the problem. It is connecting and finding the database, it just can't run what I have. Which is: <?php // Connect to the database server $cid = @mysql_connect("*****","*****","*****"); if (!$cid) { echo( "
Unable to connect to the " . "database server at this time.
" ); exit(); } // Select the graphics database if (! @mysql_select_db("graphics") ) { echo( "
Unable to locate the graphics " . "database at this time.
" ); exit(); } ?>

Insert New Record

Insert New Record
<? if ($_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] == "POST") { # escape data and set variables $name=$_POST['name']; $type=$_POST['type']; $style=$_POST['style']; $about=$_POST['about']; $notes=$_POST['notes']; $series=$_POST['series']; $link=$_POST['link']; $view=$_POST['view']; $image=$_POST['image']; $front=$_POST['front']; $sql = "INSERT INTO testing (name, type, style, about, notes, series, link, view, image, front) VALUES "; $sql .= "('$name','$type','$style','$about','$notes','$series','$link','$view','$image','$front',)"; #execute SQL statement $result = mysql_query($sql, $cid); # check for error if (mysql_error()) { print "Database ERROR: " . mysql_error(); } print "
New layout added
"; } ?>

Name:

Type of layout:

Catagory (blog, anime, generic)

About:

Notes:

Series:

Download file:

Preview:

Thumbnail:

Front image:

help? *greatbigpuppydogeyes*

 18. TVNihon as well. I think they only do unliscenced anime.
 19. the red head is Kari, and she wasn't the one that got burned, that was the other girl Jessie....*yes, i'm a dork*.... Anyways, it was only briefly, but it made me giggle. Love AskaNinja!
 20. Heh. Always been a fan of this show. Watching things go BOOM is always entertaining. However, yesterday, they upped the coolness. They did a show about ninja myths (stopping a sword with your hands, etc.). At the end, the Ninja from Ask A Ninja showed up. Coolness abounds. Sorry, just had to share that since my home computer is down and I couldn't talk about it with anyone. ;;
 21. sniper's not a class, that's just what i do...i've got archery and sneak leveled up almost completly, i have 30% chamlion armor and a 20% chamelion ring so i'm hard to see in the dark, and i have the Detect Life spell....so bascily, i can sneak around in the dungeons and snipe everything with my bows.........it's a lot of fun!... and you don't have to close all the Oblivion gates....the one at Kvatch you have to close....and later, there will be one outside each major town you have to close, but the other 90+ of them are ignorable....and once you finish the main quest, they'll disappear without you having to close it....they're good for practicing things, but the monsters in them level up as you do, so it doesn't do much good to go level a lot then close them....
 22. Ah yes, Oblivion. I play it even though I have to turn all the graphics down and lots of effects off because my processor can't handle it. I love this game! I've got the downloadable content with the Knights of Nine armor (which is cool, but a stone bitch sometimes) It's got a pretty good story (a little too short, though) but all the side quests you can do kinda liven it up, and it's a lot of fun running through dungeons killing things. My main character is up to lvl 46, which doesn't make things eaiser since the enemies lvl up too, but I have more abilities. I'm a sniper and a theif. There hasn't been a place yet that I can't break into. Make sure you do all the guild quests, but do the Assassin's Guild first. Otherwise, it could mess up your standing with a few of the other things. But the Theif's Guild is my favorite. Killing people lowers your standing, so you have to figure out how to do most of the quests without killing, which makes it more challenging. To me, the Guild quests were the best part of the game. I found the Oblivion gates annoying, and I ended up just finishing the main quest just to make them stop opening everywhere I went. ><
