  1. HK is a great character!  He's just as hilarious in the second one, and apparently, shows up in TOR in one of the expansion packs.  XD

The sand people always gave me trouble, so I didn't normally take HK with me at that point because his best weapons are blaster rifles, and you can't find good ones there.  But then, I tend to level up force lightning all the way, even playing light side, because running into a room and spamming chain lightning until everyone dies still makes me giggle like a school girl.  XD

  2. Yeah, it did, but I expected that.  After all, Tolkien was VERY wordy since he was an English professor.  He wove a great story, but it is a hard read.  What annoyed me was all the stuff they wedged in that wasn't in the book.  ><  They tried to make it a bit more PC and focus on the love story, but all that did was add time and padding to the movie that could've been taken up with stuff actually in the book.

Still, overall it was an awesome set of movies, and I did enjoy them.

  3. *GLEEE!*

    *ahem*

Well, the singing and dish throwing did happen in the book.  In fact, the first movie did a very good job staying with the source material.  I don't know about the Dul Goldure scenes as I've not read what that came from, but I thought it worked out well.  And, really, as much as he wants to stay with the book, marketing today demands things like fan favorite characters showing back up and other odds and ends like that.  So, not in the book, but considering that's where he's from, I don't have an issue with Legolas showing up.  At least it's not like he traveled from somewhere else just to show up.

That's the home of the good content restored mod. There's a couple others out there, but they were never finished. TSLRCM is not quite finished, but it's mostly in bug-fixing now, as well as working on the droid planet. Which you can play through, it's just a big sparse right now. Still, new location and things to kill and steal their stuff! XD

    Has mods for KotOR and TSL. I've got a couple up there, though I never got around to finishing some others. The asthetic mods aren't always the best, but there are some really nice ones. I also recommedn RedHawke's Ord Mandel, it's a good mod and quest for KotOR. If you decide you want my list of favorites, I'll send it to you. ^_^;

  5. I've never seen Chronicles, but I had no problems. All it does is give a reason why Riddick is on that planet. And Karl Urbarn. XD

And this was definatly a horror movie. Not Pitch Black, but same type of tension in a lot of ways. Trapped on alien planet, people wanting to kill Riddick, creepy aliens. I can't say any more without giving away a lot of spoilers, but yeah, it definatly falls into the horror genre.

  6. Just got back and it's totally worth seeing! Not quite as good as Pitch Black, but still a good movie. It was also not a rehash of Pitch Black, which I apprecated. There were some elements that were familar, but it's Riddick and "friends" trapped on a hostile alien world, so yeah, there are some familar things. XD Still, it's a good movie on it's own. I liked the structure of the story and they did a great job with atmosphere. Totally worth seeing in the theater.

  7. I saw it last night and enjoyed it. Yeah, Mother Russia's fight with the cops was awesome! XD The stinger wasn't really worth sitting through the credits for, though.

And from what I understand, the comics tend to be darker than the movies were, just because the author likes dark, somewhat distrubing storylines.

And apparently, in the scene where she gets back at the high school girls, she ends up dangling one from the rooftop. That would've been funniner, in my opinion. XD

  8. Well, I did like most of the original series. It's just that it was such a bad mindfuck at the end. I don't mind some confusion and I understand some questions aren't going be answered at the end. But I honestly can't remember how the series ended or how End of Evangelion went because I was THAT confused by it. At one point, I just turned my brain off and watching the pretty colors. ><

But now I have this running through my head. XD

(you can find the redux on youtube, but there's something wrong with the audio in places. still it was nice to actually hear Misoto's lines XD)

"It will be a work that can be enjoyed even if you have not seen the TV series. I want old hard-core fans and even fans who just know Eva from pachinko to view it as a single (i.e. stand-alone) movie. We welcome first-time viewers, so the contents will be simpler, but we don’t intend to make something on a level that can be understood just by spacing out and watching it.

"When you say 'Eva' there are probably people who are reminded

of a worldview steeped in mystery, but this time it looks like those

types of elements will be kept to a minimum.

"This is because techniques such as intentionally scattering difficult to understand phrases to create uncertainty are 12 years old. The essence of this project is to foil all expectations that everyone has towards Eva."

So, several years ago, Hideaki Anno decided to remake Evangelion into four films. I didn't know this until today, with three films out and no idea when the final one is. I gotta say, I've got mixed feelings. I mean, the idea behind it and first about half of the series was really good, despite Shinji's whineyness. But it just ended in a bad mind-fuck which kinda leaves a bad impression overall. I'm curious if anyone has seen the first three and can tell if it's heading in the same direction, or if they cut down the religious overtones and soap-opera drama somewhat, or at least didn't leave you going 'what the fuck?' at the screen every ten minutes or so.
