Windows 10 High Performance Game Mode

Microsoft made a big fuss out of the Windows 10 Creators Update's gaming features, and it's nearly ready to start delivering on them... including some that have remained mysterious. The company has revealed that it'll start trotting out a largely unknown Windows 10 Game Mode as part of Insider previews "this week." The improvement won't be fully functional until later releases, but Microsoft has at last shed some light on what it is: it'll fine-tune your PC to speed up gaming performance. This mode should help both legacy Windows games (Win32) and modern titles (UWP), so you won't have to be picky about what you're playing to notice a difference. You should "soon" hear a lot more about how it works, Microsoft says.

I bet all it'll do is turn off all the background apps that Windows 10 loves to re-enable after random windows updates.

This will be an exclusive game for Microsoft platforms, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. When you are in control of a Titan, it will mimic the pilots movements and the game will play as a traditional first person shooter. It looks decent, but I wish the titans had beam swords.

I've only used Windows 8 for about 10 minutes while setting up a wireless network.. I didn't care much for the tile system.. It seemed about as disorganized as my old Windows 3.1 system. Unless you know where to look, or what to type for, have fun trying to find it. Of course that was only 10 minutes. If I actually had a PC with it installed, I suppose I would get used to it. But that initial reaction makes me glad I got a laptop with Windows 7 on it. Maybe this new "Blue" update will fix Windows 8, maybe not. But with the bad reception Windows 8 has received for the PC market, I'm surprised more competitors aren't trying to step up to the plate with new operating systems. If a linux or google OS could run windows programs and come installed on PCs, then some of these companies should be stepping up to the plate and enter the market.. especially if Microsoft doesn't get its crap together.
