8. Real Bout High

Hey, I'm a big fan of the Real Bout High School manga. Good stuff there.

I've been reading Hunter X Hunter and Killua is pretty tough himself.

Well, 20 years ago, the Pirate King (basically the best pirate captain) was executed. But before he was, he said that he hid the fortunes that he stole (called One Piece) at the Grand Line. After that, all kinds of people became pirates to try to find One Piece, marking the start of the "Age of Pirates". 20 years later, a young guy starts off on his own dream of becoming the king of pirates. This guy is named Luffy and he has the amazing power of a rubber body. Earlier in his life, he ate one of the "Devil's Fruit" (fruit which gives you a random superpower) so now he can stretch his body to crazy porportions. The story is about him and his crew (crew names below)

and their search for One Piece.

I just finished getting caught up with the manga. I really like the series, and for some reason I'm a big fan of all the guys of the series, but I hate all the women of the series. They're a little too trixsy for me.

I'd say past. I love mythology type things.

Actually, she takes the souls of people who have recently died. She doesn't take living people's souls.

I see. I thought it was pretty weak that she (a character you're supposed to be sympathetic to) was killing people to stay alive.

Still, isn't she preventing their souls from getting to heaven or reincarnation or wherever they're going.

I was never clear on Kikyo. Does she take living people's souls to stay alive?

oO I really don'T know how this happened. I've never even seen Samurai X. I don't even really like Samurais.Although I do consider myself a knight. =/ Perplexing.

He's not a samurai. He was a hitokiri, basically, an assassin during the revolution. I actually just watched the 4 parter where he gets his cross shaped scar. During the series, he protects the weak with his sakabato or his reversed blade sword.

I never understood why they call him a manslayer. They should have stuck with hitokiri, I think.

I thought that meant that they had taken her. Beamed her up the way that they were beaming down.

Yeah. He just needed to practice seeing the Wind Scar and hitting it correctly. And, well, you need a demon to practice on for that.

It's ep 97 that Kirara "runs away". That ep is great. Shippo is hillarious getting everyone to admit how they've used Kirara and taken advantage of her; it shows Sango's father presenting her with Kirara and telling her that the cat demon is now her responsibility to look after.

I loved that episode.

Poo Kirara. Everyone takes advantage of her.

Thats a good theory. In this alternate timeline, there is no team at the Atlantis base, so they're geek Dan and geek Sam are going to have to fix the timeline somehow. I think alternate-O'neill is going to come back and take them to the past himself.

Favorite Gung-Ho Gun? I'll say Hopperd the Gauntlet. I picked him just because I like his mask.

I love manga...they're so much diffrent from the anime version...it's almost like a completely diffrent story.

I agree. It's like the difference between reading a book and watching a movie based on the book. 9 times out of 10, the book is going to be better. Thats how it works with manga as well.

The coolest character has to be Wolfwood. He just...personifies cool.

But the fact that they ever ate people makes them not good in my book. And Kouga not only let them do it, he directed them to do it makes it even worse.

SCI FI Channel confirmed that Farscape star Ben Browder will join the cast of SCI FI's original series Stargate SG-1. Browder will join the cast in the show's upcoming ninth season; no information on Browder's role was available. Meanwhile, the show's producer, MGM, is still working on a deal to bring back SG-1 star Richard Dean Anderson (Gen. O'Neill) in some capacity.

OK, I'm pretty boozed up, so forgive me if this post makes no sense.

O'neill may not come back? I hope he does, hes one of my favorites on the show. Also, was Ben Browder the star of Farscape, or was he one of the others?
