i was noticing a difference.....i'm not sure why, either.....

that would be my guess....it's mis-tagged....but hell, if you do happen to find it mis-tagged, get it.....they'll give it to you for that price b/c that's the displayed price....if they don't, you can make a huge fuss and complain to the managers, etc....

as for that case, i'd have to see one in person, but it does look nice....the only thing is i'd like to find one with a firewire connection.....that was an old case i had borrowed for Quakecon last year, and it was much faster than the USB2 i'm using now.....i had to replace it b/c the fuse went out.....

You pick an external hard drive the same way you pick an internal one. They're the same thing. The only thing you need to worry about is choosing a case. I usually get mine seperatly. It's a little bit cheaper that way.

The middle three are definitely the best. Another good one by her is "Merrick." It's like the Mayfair Witches meets the Vampire Chronicles. Very good. I don't read much Rice anymore. I got a hold of "Mists of Avalon" and didn't look back.

Right now I'm reading J.R.R. Tolkien's "Fellowship of the Ring" for my English Literature class. I must admit that reading their escape from the Shire wasn't nearly as boring this time through. It's much better in print than those "movies" that were made.

You'll find that the entire series on paper is much better than the movies. Not that I didn't like the movies. They put good faces with the names and helped me visualize the scale of some of the battles. But the books had so much more information in them and adds a great deal of depth that the movies lacked. The only problem is that Tolkien is very poetic and very descriptive, so a lot of people do get put off because of that. Which I think is a shame, because he had a gift for bringing a fantasy world to life through his words.

Sphere is one of my favorite Chricton books.....at the moment i'm re-reading The Elienum, by David Eddings.....good fantasy series, good characters...i like reading most of his stuff because he's got a good sense of humor....it's not Discworld type humor, but a bit more realistic i think....

when i was at quakecon, i ran across this format...this is the instructions that came with it....i downloaded it, and it's really neat....works like a charm....

How to play MKV:

Windows media player should work.

To play the AC3 audio, you can download that codec here:

If you can't play MKV, try the small codec pack here:

Make sure to also install the VobSub option inside the pack,

or you probably won't see the subtitles.

Read the documentation about how to enable effects and karaoke in

Matroska or Vobsub. Because karaoke doesn't render easily or by

default, there isn't a lot included, and the effects being stripped

out doesn't change the viewing too much, so don't get hung up over it.

If you don't see the kanji for the songs and see garbage instead,

you may not have Japanese language support on your computer. In windows,

this can be installed under Control Panels -> Regianal and Language

Options. Once again, not overly vital, so don't get hung up about it.

If you still can't play the MKV or AC3 audio at all, there will

eventually be an XviD / MP3 / hardsubbed version. Please

don't come into the chat room and ask the ops why it won't play,

that's why there's a readme.

unfortunatly, actions are a bit limited....but as long as you just give me the dialoge, i can fit it to the best action i have.....

Ok, I don't know if any of you remember me posting about a game called The Movies, but I was thinking it would be fun to do little adventures with us forum folks. I can't do anything fancy, but I'm having trouble coming up with ideas. So I thought I'd thow this out to you writers out there and see what happens. While I would like to have voices, I understand we may not be able to do that right now, but I can add subtitles without any problem, so we can fit the dialog in that way. If you have an idea for some kind of script, about 2-3 minutes long with just a few people, please post it! I'd love to do this as a project because the possiblites are hilarious!!

Lavos for Chronotrigger....with 10 different endings, and all the different combos of characters, i've fought him a lot of times.....oh, and Malak from KotOR....i just like kicking his smug ass....

If, however, you don't mind seeing what others can do, post your request here. You can put someone's name you'd like to see do your request in, but if they don't have time, they might not be able to.

Sig Makers: to list your name here, you need to state what you will do and examples of stuff you've done. This would be sigs, avatars, and any other web graphics people might want (LI icons, web banners, maybe even whole sites.) All you need to do is reply to this post with your info.

Please note that spam is still spam and will be deleted, so if you're posting a link to your site just to get hits, your post will be deleted. Also, staying on topic is a must. If you feel the need to comment on someone's stuff, check the main sig forum. They've probally posted there too.

All requests will need to follow the Rules for Sig Image Requests, to which there is a handy sticky up there you can point people to.

I think that's it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

1. Be as specific as possible. If you don't have any preference at all, that's fine, but if you do, make sure you say so right away. This goes for colors, images, placements, etc.

2. If you have images you want to be used, provide them. Don't make us hunt all over the internet for pictures that you might not like anyways. You don't have to physically post them here, but if you can provide links to the images, that'll work too.

3. Make sure you tell us what you want it to say. If you know how you want it to look, then say so. Otherwise, we'll just pick the font and color that would look best.

4. You must be an active member with at least 15 non-spam posts and have been here a week to request!! This isn't aimed at anyone, but we've had people take advantge of our sig-makers, and we'd like that to stop. We don't mind if you use the sigs here and elsewhere, but we're not making sig images just for other message boards.

Following these rules will make things A LOT eaiser, and you're more likely to get the image you want. One thing that annoys banner makers no end is spending a lot of time making an image, only to have the person they make it for say they don't like it b/c it doesn't look like what they wanted - even though they said they didn't care. If you do care, then all you have to do is say what you want, and everyone will be a lot happier!

FLCL is anime on crack. Seriously. It made sense to my roomate when he watched it, but he was also drunk at the time, so that was why. I mean, it's amusing to a point, but it doesn't rank up there in my book.

the toothbrush one is another that's not true.....thank you Mythbusters!....they showed it didn't matter how close your toothbrush was to the tolet....it's going to pick up the same amount of stuff just being in the room...in fact, their control toothbrushes that were under glass in another room had some of the same particles on it....but none of them were a dangerous amount......
