  1. According to an interview posted by IGN today, Microsoft has yet again flip flopped on another one of its stances. Previously, Xbox One required Kinect to be on at all times for the console to function. This is no longer the case according to Marc Whitten of Microsoft: One has to wonder if preorder numbers are the reasoning for this circus. Since June, Microsoft has taken off its DRM along with a slew of features, added some of the features back, overclocked the GPU, and now this. How does this effect developers? Especially ones that have coded their game confident that Kinect would be on at all times. This has to cause some headache, and its unclear if MS will ask them to make changes to their games near the end of development cycles. This definitely has the potential to get ugly after consoles launch. The first game that requires Kinect to play could cause the blame game between devs and MS. In the midst of walking back for irate gaming, its possible that Microsoft could also cause a strain on his developer relationships early on. 3. Sony's President Shuhei Yoshida went on twitter today and announced that you will not need a PS+ membership to be able to share and stream your gaming experiences. This comes in light of Microsoft stating yesterday that you will need an Xbox Live Gold account to use their gaming DVR. This is yet another blunder by MS after they decided to keep their 360 model which does not allow users to access Netflix without XBLG. The PS4 will still allow you to stream Netflix for free as it had on PS3. While you still need PS+ to stream and share your multiplayer gameplay, it still benefits those gamers that like to upload or search for walkthroughs for single player games, solo campaigns, and trophy guides. 5. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/escapist-news-now/7805-Xbox-One-Allows-Self-Publishing?utm_source=latest&utm_medium=index_carousel&utm_campaign=all This sounds like the same thing Ouya does. Though that now makes me question the difference between Self Publishing on PS4 when compared to Xbox One & Ouya. On my own personal note though I can't get excited about Self Publishing to a console like I once did after how I was treated by Ouya. By having to wait 3 months longer when I spent more for the brown limited edition. Or by the fact its meant to play games that don't require 720P or more only to come with an HDMI cable so I can't plug it into my current TV currently. Or how it has gotten mixed reviews due to it being buggy. Or the fact when I originally made my donation it was for the hope I could make free fanfics &/or sex games only for them to do business with retail & take that dream away. Actually the more console companies say Self Publishing the more I want to stay away from them & get a PC (that runs Linux). At least then I can make my Free Fanfic Games & consider the plausibility how I'll make money for my original games without reducing them to M ratings or having to share hypothetical profit with console companies.

  7. Microsoft seemingly squandered its chance to redeem itself at E3, and afterwards they only continued to shove their foot deeper down their own throat. Will 24 hour check-in render games useless at the end of new generation? http://kotaku.com/microsoft-we-wont-render-your-xbox-one-games-unplayab-513602148 "No one wants to buy a $60 Xbox One game to discover they just had it for a 10-year rental." Microsoft dodges the "region free" question. http://kotaku.com/microsoft-cant-tell-us-if-the-xbox-one-is-region-free-513494440 "For reference, the PS3 was completely region-free. The PS4 is as well. The PS3 even allowed different international accounts on the one system. The Xbox 360 wasn't locked at the hardware level, but some publishers chose to implement their own region blocks." Xbox One's reputation system isn't troll proof. http://kotaku.com/xbox-ones-reputation-system-sounds-crazy-but-it-just-m-513480515 "Each Xbox One game with an online component can include the ability to recognize griefing behaviors and react to them accordingly. Even if no one reports you for flagrant team killing or purposefully driving the wrong way in Forza, the games will know you've been naughty, and you could get dinged for it.There's potential there for hiccups and exploitation, but there's real potential here. It may strip players of their "right" to freely act like an obnoxious asshole online, but I'm willing to take the hit for the good of Xbox Live society." We have built a natively connected device with Xbox One and we think the experiences are moving in that direction."

  9. This will be an exclusive game for Microsoft platforms, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. When you are in control of a Titan, it will mimic the pilots movements and the game will play as a traditional first person shooter. It looks decent, but I wish the titans had beam swords. 11. . But why didn't Microsoft mention this potential during their Xbox One reveal event? This also raises more questions.. Could it be that Sony's Gaikai tech is even more powerful? Will the Xbox One still match up with Playstation 4 if Sony reveals computing potential with their cloud servers? Sony has said that constant online connections are not required, does this mean all game developers are planning on utilizing the PS4's specs only and not the potential cloud specs? Will this mean all future console games will come with a label indicating if a constant cloud connection is required or not? We'll have to wait for E3 to get all the details. In the mean time, check out this video of Crysis 2 being played on a web browser thanks to Sony's Gaikai system: Source: Official Xbox Magazine
  12. The Xbox One could very well be more powerful than the Playstation 4 thanks to cloud computing. Official Xbox Magazine is reporting that for every Xbox One sold by Microsoft, there will be the equivalent of three additional console's CPU and storage available to each system by means of a constant internet connection to MS's cloud servers. Of course this means if a game developer wants to take advantage of the Xbox One's powerful cloud servers, a constant internet connection will be required. This would mean that any or even all games made for the system could possibly require a constant internet connection.. 13. Or at least according to Wii U Daily Damn.... Just Damn.... How bad does Xbox One have to suck to sell a Wii U so easily? That isn't to say this is all Xbox One's doing. I think part of this might also have to do with the PS4 reveal back in February. I'm still leaning toward PS4 if Sony can change my mind. But still I feel like this Next Gen Console War might be the last. And whoever is left last might as well be labeled The WWF Of Console Gaming.
