  1. The new overtime law takes effect 12/1/16. It would require my company to give many of us  $10k raises. I highly doubt that will happen. They'll probably make us all hourly instead.

      In anticipation for this, walmart already increased pay for a crap ton of people. I know someone that got 7k a year salary increase already.

      I bet most companies will switch the salary employees over to hourly tho and then cap overtime hours instead tho.

      Yeah, Walmart is a huge company and our biggest rival. For regular grocery chains it will be a bigger strain. But this will make our stores go from 4 to 2 salary managers. I don't see how that will be possible. At the same time, paying us $47k will diminish the pay scale for co-manager and lessen the value of moving up. I don't see them increasing the pay for another position. Kinda like your pay doesn't go up when minimum wage goes up. I was looking to get promoted in the next 6 months, but if they increase my pay, I'd probably pass unless they paid me $55k+.
