Researchers found 2,368 unique species of bacteria after swabbing just 60 belly buttons, according to a report in The Atlantic. Of these, 1,458 may have been completely new to science. Its very interesting because some of these rare and completely unique species of bacteria could very well be another form of evolution. We are born with bacteria passed on by our parents and the bacteria we grow on and in our bodies are just as unique to ourselves as our own white blood cells and antibodies.
