I always thought it was just a fluffy while in his humanoid form and his tail in demon form -

Hmm the similarities are stunning. I tried wearing the head band like Kakashi does but I usually put my hair over my left eye (my hair is pretty long) and I'd have to put the head band over my right eye making it quite impossible to see clearly.
