  1. Star Trek Discovery Season 2 was amazing. Significant improvement over season 1. Bringing in captain Pike, Spock and the Enterprise as well as tying the entire Discovery series into the timeline and canon of the original series was well done and extremely entertaining to watch. I wish they didn't f*ck up the klingons as much as they did in season 1, because aside from that Discovery is now a solid show that ranks up there with TNG and Voyager for me.

But to me its sad they cant make a series that stands on its own without bringing back TOS or TNG. I would have given it a chance if it wasn't on another streaming service. I have plans to get Disney+ for the Mandalorian which I'm cringing at because that makes 4 different sub services I'll be tied to. I hold on to Netflix for its original anime, and Funi I use more than anything of the others. YT Red was for Cobra Kai but now I'm too spoiled with its commercial free stuff and I use it for my commute to work since I can stream with the phone locked. I use it for podcasts and playlists.

For me Star Trek has never been the same little bit after Gene Roddenberry died. Shatner and Frakes did some good work directing a few movies, but after that it's never had the same feel for me. I never could get into DS9, Voyager, or Enterprise. Despite all the bitching, I did enjoy the JJ Abram's movies... but again TOS AU.

I hated the Enterprise series with Scot Bakula. The last season of it was good but it was too little to late. With how Discovery season 2 ended they could make a spin off series of Enterprise with Pike and Spock for 1 or 2 seasons and it'd be great. As for Discovery, if there is a season 3 it'll definitely stand on its own at this point and could have the potential to spawn new series depending on where the next season takes the show.

Interesting to hear since a lot of people have been dropping hate on it since it started airing (though I've read both sides here but it's reviews are more mixed than Enterprise's were). I'd love to watch it but I'm not picking up another streaming service just to watch one show (like DX I've got plenty between Netflix, CR, and Funimation (which I'm thinking of dropping due to the shit stream quality I'm getting (and it's not my internet I already know that)). I have Hulu but I pay for it with my Spotify membership so I don't count it) that I'm not entirely sure I'd even like (I know it's made things more interesting on Star Trek Online with the weird tech Discovery has and has introduced to the canon. Then again the tech in STO is bonkers as fuck to begin with).

See while I love TOS and TNG I still think DS9 is by far the best the series has to offer based solely on plot and character development (I love DS9 even with it's many shortcomings). I liked Voyager for what is was up until the last two seasons where I felt it fell apart (especially the rather rushed ending and bullshit tech advancements) and I guess I'm one of the few people that actually liked Enterprise (I'm still not 100% done with it as I still haven't finished the last half of season 4 nor have I seen season 5) for what it was
