Tax returns

Recommended Posts

Where do you go to file your tax returns, or do you do it yourself with a program or on paper?

I just got my w-2 in the mail and I'll be using taxcut pro with e-file like I did last year. The program worked like a charm, the e-file went thru with no problem and I got my return direct deposited in a little over two weeks.

Both of those are good. I used to use the free version of H/R Block but they charged for state efile. I'm very low income so, the only efile program that is entierley free Fed and state efile is Turbotax Freedom edition. I did my homework, they all say free but still most charge for state. I'm happy with Turbotax. Smart interface and looks up everything to get you the most money. I efiled Fed and State, got my accepted by notices from both in same day, less than 2 weeks for direct deposit. If you qualify for EIC or Homeowner tax credit, it does all the math, like most programs. Very good program but those other ones are good too. I just didn't want to pay for state efile.

Texas doesn't require you to file a state return, which is kinda nice. Though, the year I moved down I had to file partial with Arkansas, and ended up having to pay a specialist $70 to do it because no program would file a partial residency state return. ><

I'm going to give it to H&R Block this year because of a fallout with the firm's CPA, who filed my taxes last year. He's a dick. Period.

Dubie~chan, is the online H&R Block option free of charge?

I am putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do.

Filling it out is. You have to pay a fee to file your returns, but you have to do that if you buy the software too, or if you use an accountant. Using the online version means you don't have to actually buy the software, so you save a little there.

I bought my taxcut pro with efile on sale at bestbuy about a month ago. It was $49.99 and came with a free dvd up to $20 in value. I got the new indiana jones dvd. ^_^

I used to use jackson hewitt because my work gave me $20 off coupons, but a couple years ago they raised their prices. It costed over $100 for a simple return. f*ck that. Taxcut was extremely easy to use last year and it'll copy over my info too. I've always wondered how much the online versions costed for e-file tho. Is it cheaper to just pay for the efile online?

The only other thing that is nice with the taxcut I bought is that it comes with a phone consultation service with an h&r block rep and if I get audited (twice now) I get audit services.

Eppy pointed this out to me the other day.. I use WhatsApp all the time.. I really don't understand the $19 billion price tag.. I bet the instagram people are kicking themselves in the ass for only getting $1 billion back in 2012.

I'm not interested in paying $2 to cover my gun in bacon. I've already spent enough money on this game.. My only concern will be if they start selling things that will give people an advantage.

Battlefield has done the microtransactions for a while now. Buy some new dog tags, etc. But when BF3 started selling vehicle and class unlocks I felt pretty pissed off. The amount of time it took me to get all those unlocks to get better weapons available and now people can pay money and have an advantage over others that don't have heat seekers unlocked on jets or something. The only reason I can understand these unlock purchases are because people have already put their time in on the game but on a different console or PC and don't want to play 80 hours to get the same unlocks again.

I still don't like it tho. I hope Call of Duty doesn't start doing that either. Its all about money.. and with all the new money they'll make from selling $2 bacon skins, will they re-invest that money into improving the game and maybe getting some actual servers? No.. instead I'll be stuck getting killed by some bacon gun right after another laggy server migration. x_x

I think its pretty safe to say that North Korea isn't testing nuclear bombs for nuclear power, they're testing bombs and missiles as an act of power. I would say I'd doubt they'd launch against anyone in fear of a nuclear counterattack, but North Korea's government has always been crazy.
