Battlefield 4 Battlefest and Dragon's Teeth Teaser

Recommended Posts

With the upcoming release of the Dragon's Teeth DLC for Battlfield 4, DICE has started an event this weekend called Battlefest. Double XP, free camo and competitions.

To get Battlefest started, we’re giving everyone a weekend of double XP from July 12-13, so if you need to level up your game, now is a good time to start or get back into the game. The 12th also marks the first day of our daily contest (called Battleshots), where we’re asking you to send us a screenshot in Battlefield 4 based on a different theme requirement. Each daily winning entry will receive an AMD graphics card, $50 gift card to the DICE Store, and a Battlefield 4 Premium membership on their platform of choice. We’re excited to see what you send in and will be altering the screenshot theme request daily until August 13 for more chances to win. Official announcement to come; official rules can be found here.

I'll be playing briefly today, more tomorrow and again this upcoming week.. that is.. until the Destiny beta starts.

I played some domination rounds today with a stacked 100 xp boost so I could finally get that ace dmr unlocked. DX.. you were right about that gun. Hardly any recoil and insanely accurate. Even without playing for a couple months I realized I lost no skill in the game. Unfortunately bf4 feels kind of boring now unless I'm playing with a friend.

I feel you. but I think I've burnt myself out on competitive mutliplayer FPS. As fun as I thought Titanfall was, I didn't play it for very long even though I really enjoyed it. I don't think I'll be getting Hardline either. I've been engulfed in GW2 as a refreshing change, and while Destiny is a FPS, it has GW2 social elements which I believe they took a lot of inspiration from... I've even seen a few other random people leave the same sentiments in the comments sections of Destiny articles. I'm probably going to take a break from competitive FPS until Battlefront.

Destiny, The Division, GTA:V, MGSV,  and the next Mass Effect title are all on my agenda. Outside of Battlefront, a Bad Company 3 could draw me back in as well.

That was the problem I had with Guild Wars 1.. I played it so much that I stopped playing it for a couple years except for checking in during holiday events. Hell, when I was a kid I played nothing but 2D fighting games. I even bought every version of Street Fighter 2.. after a while I got so burned out that I still don't play fighting games even now. But now I'm feeling like that for Battlefield. I've mentioned this before.. I honestly wasn't going to get BF4 except for the fact that I got it on PS4 and it was 64 players and noticeably different from BF3 on PS3 to me. And from what I've seen of Hardline.. it looks and plays like BF4 but with less players and some different game modes.. It almost looks like its a step back from BF4. I'll pass on it for now. Hardline would have been better off as a DLC for BF4. I know there is going to be a campaign for it, but the campaigns for BF3 and BF4 weren't worth $60. Its a multiplayer game and seeing as I already own BF4, Hardline doesn't seem like something I'd be interested in.

Man.. all those Street Fighter 2 games.. I think there were 7 of them. I kept thinking to myself.. when the f*ck are they going to make Street Fighter 3, and how many versions of it will they make? Well.. I stopped and never played Street Fighter 3, IV, V, etc. It got so repetitive that when I look back on it now, it makes me realize how addicted to the genre I was. Its very similar to everyone that buys the never ending Call of Duty games. Even though Injustice Gods among us looks like a great game, I've had no interest in buying it just like I had no interest in buying COD Ghosts.

Destiny will be fun because I like Borderlands and I like GW 1 & 2 and Destiny combines all those things, even the FPS multiplayer aspect. I think I need to expand my gaming horizons some more. I will definitely be buying The Division. That game looks epic to me, same with the new MGS. I'd like to get Diablo 3 for PS4 also, but I'll have to wait on that one for a while. Too many games are coming out for me to keep up with later this year with my finances. I'm so glad my car payment will be done with next spring.

LOL. I loved SF. SF2 Turbo was my favorite of that series... the code for max turbo was ridiculous. Street Fighter 4 was pretty awesome... but Fighting games don't appeal to me anymore like racing games. I bought the last few MK games because the story mode was cool... and brutally hard at moments... but once I beat it and unlocked everything in the crypt I was done with it.... MK Shaolin Monks was amazing in co-op. I wish they would make another. I bought NFS Rivals and played all of 20 minutes of it while BF4 didn't work. I need to try it out again but Racing games don't do it for me anymore like it once did.

Between all the BF games I've ever played I've put over 500 hours into the series if not more. I can still have fun if I play with friends, but my work schedule never really allows it. I know with Destiny I can enjoy what little time I have with friends and my time with solo on story and grinder missions. Thats how it was with Borderlands.

Diablo 3 is a hell of a lot of fun. I was going to get Ultimate Evil edition until a friend I was going to play it with opted for a Wii U instead of a PS4... he wont be getting one for a while so I'm holding off on that.

I was on this morning (in fact less than an hour ago) playing (trying to see if I still had the stuff, I do and boy am I deadly with a shotgun). Haven't tried the new maps yet but I'll say I hate the Bulldog or at least being on the receiving end of it. Didn't take people long to unlock it. The shield is kind of a joke by what I've seen, it's rather easy to kill someone wielding it (or at least it was with a shotgun). I'll have to work on unlocking it tonight when I give the new expansion a run for it's money (didn't want to start it until I unlocked a scope for my SVD, I hate iron sights on DMR's).

lol, I set mine up to download while I watched the new episode of Deadliest Catch (priorities you know). I thought about giving it a shot this morning but then I remembered how bad Naval Strike was when it came out so I decided to practice on some 400% Locker goodness. I'll man up and play it tonight like I said, hopefully it's not as bad as Naval Strike was when it came out but considering the amount of people using the DEagle, Unica, Ballistic Shield, and Bulldog it's looking like this might be the first dlc rollout with very little problems.

That would be good. The big problem with the naval strike launch was that DICE's servers needed a severe upgrade. Now that they fixed that issue everything should work smoothly. I did have some lag issues the other day tho. Almost like someone was doing a ping of death attack against my router again. I think when you rent a server you can access the control panel via battlelog. If some asshole admin can see the ip#s then they're probably cheating by pinging everyone on the opposite team.

I ran into lag myself last night and was thinking it was rather weird considering when it happened (in an area that did have a lot of fighting but everytime an enemy came out of a door I'd hit severe lag as if someone planned it). Can't prove anything and it was a rented server but I was thinking that was weird considering I rarely, if ever, lag like that while playing BF4.

This game is still definitely fun to play with friends. Strider and me were kicking some ass tonight on the Dragon's Teeth maps. I like the new maps. One of them was very open and great for mortaring, while another was filled with so many multi-leveled buildings that it felt like a maze. Which was nice because it was a large map that wasn't good for sniping at all. It was a lot of action but without the bottlenecks of metro and locker. That bulldog gun seems to be everyone's new favorite. The shield didn't seem effective at all from the one teammate I saw that used it.

I unlocked the MPX tonight after finishing a couple lagging chain link matches. Conquest runs great, but I had some lag issues on chain link, maybe it was just that particular server. The MPX is easily on par with the F2000. A few less rounds, but with a little extra damage and more stability. The reload is very fast too. If anyone wants some helicopter points, I'll pilot as long as somebody has a repair torch. I have both my helicopters fully unlocked, but I'm interested in testing out how well they can handle now that I haven't played in a while. The scout helicopter runs great, but those 25mm rounds still do hardly anything to infantry. Before those were nerfed almost a year ago, those things would have killed anyone near the hit area just from the splash damage. It was an amazing heli gun. Hmm.. I wonder if the TV missile is actually worth using now on the Attack Helicopter.

I gotta set mine to download. I forgot when I got off the other night. I'll be off saturday, sunday and monday, so we def need to get some rounds in. It was fun, just doing stupid crap like defending a mountain top that had no strategic purpose nor helped either team.... but the people kept coming to get us. XD

Just send me a text if you guys get on and I'll join you, need to get some more BF4 practice in before Tuesday when Final Stand goes live for us. I'll get on for a few considering I still have to work (and I don't need to be on FF farming currency as I finally got my last piece of armor yesterday so I'm good for awhile).

The MPX is an amazing gun. I unlocked my later that night after you guys got off and fell in love with it immediately. I still think the F2000 is a much better gun but the MPX would give it a run for it's money in a showdown. It's certainly a prime contender for my Engineer's permanent primary weapon but I still like my QBS-09. That shotgun turns me into a very dangerous person to come across on close quarters maps like Pearl Market and Metro.

I tried out a match last night after my internet decided to work and overall it's not that bad. As usual it suffers from lag but nowhere near as bad as Naval Strike did. Played on Hangar 21 and I gotta say the map is freaking huge (as are all of them as far as I know). There was no Hover tank on the map but snowmobiles are fun to drive around (even if they handle like jet skis) and the rail gun is a beast if you can get your hands on it. Now to figure out how to unlock the compound bow. I just hope it doesn't require me to finish the other three Phantom assignments to get it (because I'll never get those done).

I finally got everything downloaded tonight. It took over an hour with the BF4 update, Final Stand and Destiny patch. I haven't turned my ps4 on in a couple days and I still don't trust stand by mode to actually work for me. I'll be getting on for some rounds tomorrow around 6 or 7 pm edt if anyone wants to team up. If not, I'll try and work on those 2 new gadget assignments.

It looks like once you put the new password in for the last phantom assignment it will unlock the weapon.. but it might be tied to having all 3 previous phantom assignments done. If that is the case then that is bullshit. Theres no way I'll play endless hours just to get hand gun kills, etc. just to unlock a bow. I honestly liked the cross bow in BF3. I wish it actually came out earlier on in the game and not on the 3rd DLC though. With this new bow just now coming out in the last DLC and if only the truest hard core players can get it, then I hope it sucks because if it is another DEAGLE weapon in terms of being OP, then ppl will be pissed off. I was hoping we'd get a tomb raider style bow in BF4 from the beginning. The C4 arrows were fun to use in BF3 until they got nerfed and would only kill with a direct hit. Once that happened it was pointless to use those particular arrows anymore unless you were shooting them at a jeep.

It seems there may be more then that to it if Jack's video sheds any light on how this might be unlocked.

I got on for a few matches last night and got through all the maps. The new DLC is quite amazing in a lot of ways. Not only are the maps huge (and a sniper's paradise) they're actually pretty fast paced and battles are rather epic (hell my squad held a mountain just like we did when we played last week). I will say that I absolutely hate choppers in these maps, makes it into a shooting gallery for anyone even moderately good with a chopper (all the maps are completely open with very little to no inside combat). I tried out the hover tank and I absolutely suck with it since you have to turn the whole tank just to aim the main cannon at a target. Throws me off considerably since I'm used to a swivel turret of normal tanks. Haven't really seen anyone that's actually good with it yet (it's only available on two maps).

I'd really love to get my hands on the rail gun again but that's everyone's favorite toy right now due to it being a one shot kill weapon and it can destroy all vehicles in the game. I just like it because there's no bullet drop on it (which makes me ever so happy, back to COD sniping for me. Only real downside is it's need to charge before you shoot).

Send me a text when you get on tonight, I'll play a few matches if I'm not busy working on my Animus weapon in FF (probably won't be, I only really need to get on to do my dailies but I can always do those Friday morning as the day doesn't reset until 8 am for FF).
