Good. Rapists should be shot and killed.

Even if the girl has issues with drinking excessively, being a liar, whatever.. it doesn't matter. People should have enough common decency to not take advantage of another person regardless of being impaired or not. If one of these guys got extremely hammered and the next day pics of them getting f*cked in the ass showed up online I'm sure they would have pressed some rape charges to.

Steubenville Prosecutors Say 16 More Minors Face Charges In Rape Case

Prosecutors in the Steubenville rape case announced today that they are seeking charges against 16 more minors.

Ohio State Attorney General Mike DeWine revealed that a Grand Jury will be called April 15 with as many as 16 others facing possible charges.

Good. Even if its just "Failure to report a Felony" I'd like to see that happen. Too many minors never face any criminal charges because they are under 18. Half the time the police won't even bother to arrest them because its too much paperwork for them and they would get shit from their parents. Lazy police officers thinking they're doing the parents a favor by not giving their kids a police record. Its not doing anyone a favor, it only reinforces the idea to young kids that you can do illegal activities and not get punished for it. I figure if you are old enough to drive you are old enough to be held accountable for your actions and placed in real jail and not juvenile detention centers. Even under 16 theres some criminal asshole children that should face adult charges.

You know, I was reading one of the random Yahoo artilcles about this, written by one of the sports guys, and he made a good point.  Not in defense of them or what they did, but why it might have happened in the first places.  Apparetly, the whole town had a habit of just letting the jock crowd do what they wanted.  The liquer stores would look the other way when they bought beer, the parents willingly let them have parties and stay out as late as they wanted to, and so on.  He mentioned one of the kids actually took the keys away from one of his friends so he wouldn't drive drunk.  The kids knew that was a bad idea, but didn't truely realize what rape was.  I'm not trying to defend them by any means, they commited a crime and should be punished for it.  But just as much blame can be placed on the adults in that community, not only for letting them do what they want simply because they were star football players, but also for not educating them properly.  We've taught them that drinking and driving is bad, and they understand that.  Why has rape and assault not been given the same prominence?

this is the rape culture that we live in

shitty definitions of what makes someone with a penis a "real man"

the false belief that clothing/drinking/location cause rape. Only a rapist causes rape to happen.

These ass clowns grew up believing that they were entitled to sexualize, debase, degrade, control etc half of the human population and then some.

Parents need to drive it into their sons that this kind of shit is not acceptable. If its not a conscious, enthusiastic yes don't go there because its not consent.

Males need to call each other out on this kind of shit. Seriously guys, when women have a problem with what someone is doing we bitch about it, sometimes a lot :bitchin:

After watching that video I think "The Rape Crew" all need to have penectomies along with their arms cut off.

Those who fight deplorables should see to it that they themselves do not become deplorables.

btw, I saw this:

http://gawker.com/5991003/cnn-reports-on-the-promising-future-of-the-steubenville-rapists-who-are-very-good-students

wtf CNN. Is there some political 2 sided arguement going on that I'm not aware of? Who in the f*ck would spin this shit into something more than what it is? Thats sick. Trial, conviction, done. Put their asses in jail. And it turns out the onion did something very similar a couple years ago, CNN is looking pretty bad.

I wouldn't believe that they didn't "truely realize what rape was".. Thats about as valid as excuse as a murderer saying: "I didn't think he'd die when I hit his head with a hammer."

Teenage boys are disgusting. As long as they have an internet connection they already know about every fetish out there. Rape and sexual education is looked down upon in our primarily christian society. When I was going to to school they'd tell us to not have sex. period. We got to see some diagram and because of some parent complaining we never even got to see what a condom looked like in the school. My sex ed class was the equivalent of a teacher telling us about STDs and nothing more.

I don't know what Sex ed classes are like now, so who knows whats being taught to them. Regardless of whats being taught to them, the sexual content they have access to on the internet far out weighs whatever reasonable sexual education course could offer in terms of information.

I wasn't trying to defend them. They made the wrong choice, plain and simple. But what I'm saying is that it's also the parent's and community's fault as well. I hear teen and younger boys joking about raping someone and laugh because they haven't put that connection together yet, and the parents don't bother to correct them. If they're going online looking for porn (and lets face it, most of them are), porn with the women getting 'raped' end with the woman having a good time, so they have a very skewed view of sex and what is right and wrong in that regard. And the parents are 'too busy' or just plain uncomfortable talking about sex with their kids, so they're left on their own to figure out what they should do. We don't just need education for our kids; a lot of parents should be educated as well.

I grew up in a town exactly like this one. Our sports teams were fucking sacred and the jocks got preferential treatment from most, not me though obviously. I was physically strong enough from farm work to kick any of the fuckers asses and I competed with and beat most of them in the weight room, i could push a buck eighty with my legs. It intimidated them knowing if I stomped or kicked them it would be pain city. We didn't get along, they harassed me about pot, my friends, my sexuality, whatever, but if I turned around and called them out on their bullshit they stood down quick. They were well aware I could fuck them up, I manhandled the cap of their football team with 4 dudes standing next to him and they all did nothing.I didn't just stick up for myself to these fucks either I defended my friends and even ppl I didn't like. I've seen how this crowd treats each other, they abandon their own.

Henry Rollins, posted  blog  focusing on the verdict and what the case means on a much larger scale

I think to a great degree, we humans still divide ourselves into two species, even though we are monotypic. There are males and females. We see them as different and not equal. Things get better when women get more equality. That is a bit obvious but I think it leads to better results up the road. If it’s a man’s world as they say, then men, your world is a poorly run carnage fest.

It is obvious that the two offenders saw the victim as some one that could be treated as a thing. This is not about sex, it is about power and control. I guess that is what I am getting at. Sex was probably not the hardest thing for the two to get, so that wasn’t the objective. When you hear the jokes being made during the crime, it is the purest contempt.
