  1. http://www.syfy.com/continuum I caught the first episode of Continuum last night. I liked the first episode and I think I'll stay current with the first season. Here is what its about: Kiera is a much better character than the always crying wrinkly foreheaded Charlie from Revolution. Anyone else watching this show?

  5. After previously denying that he would command the directors chair for the next Star Wars film, LOST creator and Star Trek director J.J. Abrams has been officially confirmed for the role. After swirling rumors and many turned down offers, Abrams has emerged to take on the challenge that has scared away the likes of big names such as Steven Spielberg, Christopher Nolan, and Zack Snyder. In November Abrams was quoted as saying: "Look, Star Wars is one of my favorite movies of all time. I frankly feel that – I almost feel that, in a weird way, the opportunity for whomever it is to direct that movie, it comes with the burden of being that kind of iconic movie and series. I was never a big Star Trek fan growing up, so for me, working on Star Trek didn’t have any of that, you know, almost fatal sacrilege, and so, I am looking forward more then anyone to the next iterations of Star Wars, but I believe I will be going as a paying moviegoer!" However it seems that Lucasfilm's co-chair Kathleen Kennedy had been courting Abrams aggressively for quite a while. With the success of his Star Trek reboot and upcoming sequel, Abrams is set to become the new king of Sci Fi if he can triumph within the two most iconic series of the genre. Star Wars Episode VII is scheduled to hit theaters in 2015. Michael Arndt is writing the script. For more check out these links: Comingsoon.net: BREAKING: J.J. Defiance

It already has my interest. It looks good, has potential.. and now look at this quote from an announcement made back on 05/21/2012 with some info on the impressive group of people that are working on this project: http://community.defiance.com/en/2012/05/21/defiance-pilot-production-begins/ That sounds like a great combination of talent and now my expectations are pretty high. Now lets look at the game: It looks like a mix of Borderlands with Resident Evil's 3rd person perspective. Could be good. I'll have to sign up for the beta. Defiance is set to premiere Monday, April 15, 2013 at 9:00 p.m. on the Syfy channel. Defiance the game will be released April 2013 for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Check the official site here: http://defiance.com/
  8. For those of you that do not know, Syfy has teamed up with Trion Worlds to create something truly unique. It is called Defiance. Defiance is a TV series and it is also a MMO shooter game. Events that happen in the tv series will affect the game and events in the game will affect the tv series. First lets look at the show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BJN2ssm8QgIt already has my interest. 9. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/syfy-renews-haven-388190 I'm glad the postponed season finale did not affect the show's prospects of getting renewed.

So, I recommend you guys check it out, especially if you're fans of Science Fiction. This has a it of time travel, skip the trailer. Just watch it. It's probably one of the best movies to come out this year, top 10ish list worthy. Let's discuss. Oh by the way, the guy with the dog-van from Dumb & Dumber is in it, as a #insert evil music# EVIL GUY.
  11. The begging of the second season didn't look interesting to me. The virus affecting the crew was done with a previous shadow virus that caused hallucinations and a guy that had some virus-like charisma, then there was the crystal forest thing that infected/possessed others, blah blah blah. I didn't even bother watching it. I did watch the episode last night tho, because there was a possibility of Telah or Ronin leaving the series.. But no, same as always there is no suspense because in the end you already know everything is going to work out fine and their team is together. Telah even re-joined her team. Sure, she has no worries about dieing in battle or being taken prisoner. Because she knows she'll never die, just like if she even gets kidnapped, she'll always be rescued. What a load of shit. This show reminds me of the short lived Painkiller Jane series. That series failed because there was never any progression of an overall plot, and every misc episode is about something happening to their crew but making out of it ok. Battlestar Galactica is a far superior show because anyone could die at any given time in any episode. Not just a season or mid-season finale, but at any time. If you missed an episode you probably missed something vital to the overall plot. Of course even that show has a few dud episodes, but nothing like the never-ending Atlantis series. The only significant plot twist in the series was when Carson died. It was completely unexpected and dramatic. I was shocked. But then the series turned even more to shit by bringing him back into the show. By doing that, they destroyed the only significant plot twist that ever took place in the series. Highly disappointing. And I think they brought him back because of some dumb ass fan petition to bring him back!? wtf!? Maybe if I make a petition and get a bunch of people to sign it online, we can get new writers and a decent plot.
  12. http://www.icv2.com/articles/news/15025.html I'm surprised SciFi didn't jump on the specials, considering they've been airing the series up till now.
  13. http://www.icv2.com/articles/news/14515.html Lame. TV just keeps getting worse.
  14. http://dvice.com/archives/2009/01/how_the_red_one.php The SCI FI channel has been using this Red camera to film their newest series Sanctuary. Whats interesting is that the show has no set. Pretty much everything is done with a green screen, but when you watch the show you can't really tell if anything is shot in an actual set or not. How do they do it? They use a camera that has 4 times the resolution of HD. Check the video on the link to see more about it. Its actually pretty interesting.
  15. The integrity of this channel has been going to hell for me with the 'mid-season finales' of their more popular series like Battlestar Galactica and the two Stargate series (SG1 is done, but the last two seasons had 'mid-season' finales). And with the mid-season finales, we have to wait 9 months for the remaining season and then ususally another 3 or more months for the beginning of the season after that. Thank god this is the last season of BSG, because I don't think I'll ever watch another series that has this big of gap between new epsodes. I'm going to stop watching Stargate Atlantis as it is. They make us wait 9 months for more episodes and the episodes are badly written rehashed scripts of things that have already happen multiple times in the same series but in a different context!? f*ck that! I'm not giving this channel any more ratings for poorly scripted series. Also, the Sci Fi channel's b-movies used to be watchable, not always good, but a good time killer and somewhat amusing or interesting. But now they seem to be outputting a constant stream of crap movies just to fill their time slots. Instead of making so many crap movies, they should put more money into fewer, better movies and make them good, like improving the scripts and hiring better actors. I like Eureka and I'm going to watch the newest season and I've been looking forward to it because its actually pretty good in my opinion. I don't mind its timeslot on tuesday nights because it works out good to have something close to the middle of the week to watch. However, it is constantly hammered with ECW commercials because wrestling is on right after it. The commercials annoy the hell out of me. Do they really think that many wrestling fans are watching Eureka in anticipation of the wrestling show thats coming on after it!? Bullshit! Wrestling fans will watch that f*cking show regardless of what channel its on as long as it comes on at that particular time. So stop commercializing the shit out of it during an actual show that has nothing to do with the fanbase of the show that follows it! Its the same as if ECW was on the home and garden channel and having random commercials of hardcore wrestling and sweaty muscle guys airing during a show like Trading Spaces or Curb Appeal. Do they really think wrestling fans would watch Curb Appeal just because it precedes ECW!? Then why the f*ck throw commercials on before it? Do they really think they'll increase their fanbase by luring in Sci Fi fans or home improvement do-it-yourselfers? And I've said it before and I'll say it again, WTF is wrestling doing on the "SCI FI" channel anyway!? Once again it is the integrity of the channel going downhill.
