  1. Here is a list of fixes that I have planned to get done at some point: 1) Outdated Custom BB Codes 2) Some busted smilies 3) Ranks 4) Rank images 5) Group Icons 6) Embed Tweet BB Code Are there some other small bugs that I'm missing that need fixed? Are there any old features from the old site that you would like to see again? Is there a specific feature you've seen on other sites that you would like to see on Ancient Clan?
  2. I finished an upgrade to the site, which included an editor upgrade and updated skin fixes. So far it looks like everything is fine, but I'm still not caring for this editor. In firefox, the quote feature seems a bit off. After you hit quote, you should hit an arrow button before typing or pasting to make it look correct. I'll have to fill out a bug report for it. Let me know if anyone comes across any errors or problems.
  3. 2) To see if your post is still saved. Go back to that topic and load the editor at the bottom of the page. Do not start typing anything! First, check to see if you have "Auto Saved Content", if you do, then you should be ok. Click on the link that is circled in the image. 3) Once you click on the link, you'll see the content has been saved. Once you click "Restore Content" you will see your post has been restored and you can continue where you left off. Next, I will explain how to change your secondary color and wallpaper. The secondary color is mostly visible in the Light theme, but it does show some changes if used along with a partially transparent wallpaper. 1) Click the tools at the bottom right corner of the screen. 2) It will pop up the color and wallpaper selections. 3) If you click the top part with the hand you will get a color selector. Try some different colors or put in the hex code of the color you want. You can also select some different wallpaper tiles. 4) Lets say you uploaded a wallpaper to our "Random Wallpapers" gallery or you would like to use a wallpaper that has already been uploaded by someone else. Go to the image you want to use and right click on the image. As you will see in this pic, the default windows right click menu shows up, but so does our gallery right click menu. You will want to click on the gallery menu to see it. 5) You will now want to right click on "Direct link to this image file" and then click "Copy Link Location" 6) Now go back to your skin tool menu and right click and paste the link to the wallpaper into the custom background area and then click on "Change" 7) Now that you are done, click on the tools again to close the menu. 8) And thats it!
  4. In this tutorial I will explain how the Auto Save works in the editor and how to change the wallpaper and secondary color of the entire site. First off, "Auto Saved Content" 1) Sometimes you'll be making a giant post and something happens.. you lost it. You closed the tab you were replyin in. But don't worry just yet. There is a good chance the editor has Auto Saved your post! Every couple minutes or so the editor will auto save your post for that specific topic. Lets say I typed the following and in another tab I'm looking up some info and then I accidentally closed the tab with my post in it. 5. I turned our ads back on. I know not everyone likes them, but they help cover some of the server costs. All ads are disabled for AC Elite members, moderators and administrators. Because of the conversion, all members were reset as regular members. As long as you have 1000 posts, you are eligible to be an AC Elite. If you are a current member with over 1000 posts, you will be automatically promoted to AC Elite once you log in and make 1 post. As soon as you make that 1 post the site will auto-promote you to AC Elite and it will disable the ads for you. Some of you have already made that one post and you will notice on your profiles that you are AC Elite members.
  6. Attachments are turned on for all members. If you had previous attachments on the old vbulletin site, you can check by going to your settings and click on "Manage Attachments" Attachments are useful for uploading some quick pictures or files into a topic. Everyone has about 10 mb of storage and that is separate from your gallery storage space which is currently 10mb for regular members and 20mb for AC Elite. I will be increasing this amount in the near future. Also, searching has been turned on for guests with a flood control, this will make it easier to look through all topics organized by tabs when you are not logged in because that is controlled through the search feature.
  7. The new "Light" theme is up! As of this post, all the old themes have been removed and the "Perfect Dark" theme has been renamed to just plain "Dark" because I am done with the different variations I was testing out. The light theme has a few issues with it at the moment, but it will be getting an update in about a week. Enjoy!

  13. Our blogs are finally converted and back online! For the few of you that had existing blogs, you will need to go to you blog, click on "Options", then "Manage Settings" and check all your settings, privacy, etc. You will also need to click on "Add Blocks" and choose whatever blocks you would like to have displayed in the right column. If you had categories you will need to create new categories and then edit each individual blog entry to move them into the correct category. Also, if you had any inline images, you will notice that the old vb attach tag does not work and you will have to edit your blog entry to properly put your images back into place. If not then the images are still there, just grouped together at the bottom of the entry. I think the only person affected by the image issue is just me. Check out the blogs and if you want to make one, help yourself, blogs are available to all members.

  15. On all of your posts you will see a "Like" bar and the names of the people that liked your post. If you hover over a username or go to their profile, you will see the total reputation points that user has. As of right now we do not currently have any real benefit for user's with high reputation points. We might use this at some point for different perks or upgrades (more gallery storage, etc.) You can also go to your profile and easily view all the likes you have received or given. Once the gallery and blogs are back up, you will also be able to see all your likes in those as well by making your selections in the image below: Next we have the "Follow this.. (topic, image, album, blog, etc.)" feature. By using the follow feature you can get instant or email notifications when something has been updated or replied to. You can also go into your profile settings and set yourself to automatically follow content that you create or to auto follow content that you reply to. You can also think of it as an easy way to bookmark content because you can easily click on the "Content | Follow" link to see when the items you are following were last replied to. You can also choose which content to look at with the menu on the left: The last feature for this post is the "My Media" button. This is probably my favorite new feature. In any post, reply, gallery / article / blog comment you make, you can click on the My Media button to easily insert an image from any of your previously attached images or gallery images. You will never have to keep re-attaching images you like to use over and over again. Attach it once, or add it to your gallery to easily use that image whenever you want.
  16. Here are 3 more features you may not know about! First up, we have the "Like" feature. And no, this is not facebook integration. These are specifically Ancient Clan likes. On our old vbulletin software we had a reputation system and a "Thank you" modification that allowed people to thank a person for making a topic, which would result in giving that member some reputation points. The "Like" system we have now is the new reputation system. On all of your posts you will see a "Like" bar and the names of the people that liked your post. If you hover over a username or go to their profile, you will see the total reputation points that user has. 17. Its still a work in progress, but at least it is now more useable. If you were using the dark theme before, you will have to re-select the Dark theme at the bottom left of the screen to start using the new one.

  19. I meant to post this topic on AC's birthday on May 1st, but I kept getting distracted from the computer. So here it is, the AC birthday topic! And its a milestone! 10 years! Happy B-day AC! Its hard to believe its already been a decade.
  20. After many years of off and on work, I have finally finished work on all the old archives. Which means that ancientclan.org is finally back online. Don't be surprised if the search does not find anything in the first couple weeks. Because the archives have been offline for over a year, google needs to re-index all the pages. Check out the archives! Maybe you'll find something interesting. http://www.ancientclan.org/
