  1. I picked up XIII at 10:00 am yesterday and when I haven't been sleeping, going to school or going to work, I've been glued to it. So far I am a little disappointed in how linear it is, but that seems to be a gripe world-wide. This one seems a little slow to progress into anything understandable. I see exactly why Square-Enix went that extra mile to ensure English speaking audiences could understand what was going on with their chapter-by-chapter, section-by-section explanation of events. So thumbs up there. Another thing troubling me so far is the lack of true depth in the combat system. This will probably change as I progress, I'm sure, but it is kind of a drag being in combat for the first few hours where all you are doing is auto-attacking and using a potion once every 4 or 5 fights. To be perfectly honest, I despise the "gambit" system adopted in XII. I want to control every single playable character myself, not assign them to some automatic role to fulfill and then bullshit me into believing that the depth comes from customizing them. Phooey, I say. Also the "stream lining" they've done to combat almost blows off its own foot. I can't hardly tell what the fuck is going on half the time. I'm unable to appreciate any increase in damage or gawk at the cool-as-hell spell/ability effects I've upgraded because everyone is cluster-fucking the mobs. Also, my last bitch goes to the names for some of these characters. I don't care how mysterious and brooding you are, no one is going to take you seriously if you insist on being called Lightning. Sorry. Anyways, I'm done complaining. I really hope this game pulls the rug out from under me soon so I can go all fan boy about it til they release XV. The graphics are simply amazing. Being able to play it on a 24", 1080p screen is breath taking, especially the beginning. The sound effects are crisp and accurate, and the sound track is beautiful. That is my take on it so far, has anyone else been playing this yet? I will update this post when I've gotten a bit further.
  2. I finished this last weekend and I absolutely loved it. The ending wasn't all that bad, kinda saw that coming. It got me pretty hyped for the 3rd one. Playing through it again on Insanity is... just that. Insane. Freakin' loved ME2. Bioware scores again.

    I'm back. =)

lol Thanks, one of my favorite scenes in a movie ever. I've been alright. I've got two kids now, Sephire, who's going to be 4 next month and my little girl, Mina, who's gonna be 2 this month. We were going to have another little girl named Beckett about 3 months ago, but she didn't make it through delivery unfortunately. I'm a full time student at a community college trying to get my 2 year degree in Networking Services, IE: Cisco Routers. I'll get my 4 year degree in something relatable, but not sure what yet. Computer Engineering is a bit daunting with the number of math courses required, and I'm terrible at math. Algebra is kicking my ass. I'm also working full time as a poker room dealer-in-training. Still working on that. So with all this on my plate, I've been forced to put WoW on the back burner. Made it through the Argent Tournament and had to stop just weeks after ICC hit. *sigh* Oh well. I'll get back into raiding again eventually. What's everyone else been up to?

Hey everyone! Long time, no see. How's everyone been? I thought I'd stop in and see what's been going on and maybe even stick around. =D Where's all the old schools?

    Girl Bands

Kittie, Jack Off Jill, (You were way too young to have known anything about them, Wolf. ), and Phallus über Alles. I'm assuming this isn't just all-girl bands, so front-women bands would also Lacuna Coil, Otep, Flyleaf, Drain STH, Dresden Dolls, etc. =)
  8. I -loved- that DoC video, kick ass Hellcat. My favorite one are still the EVA video with Rammstein's Engel, Dubu's Vash video X'D, and the Metallica video for DBZ's cell saga.
  9. Yeah, everyone's gorwing up so fast. *sniffle* We've missed you.

  14. I still heart GW. For all the reason above. Heh.
  15. I highly recommend http://pandora.com It lets you select a band or song to base your own radio station on, and from there it suggests other bands and songs based on whether you like the songs or not. It uses hundreds of filters to suggest music and eventually it will understand what you like without playing too much crap you don't like. Very awesome. And it's free!
  16. *raises hand* Still a classic, Eppy. =)
  17. Hehe, I used to watch things like Speed racer, Thundercats, Silver Hawks, Robotech, Tranformers, etc. But I didn't know it was "anime" either, I just knew it as the cartoons with the shiny eyes. lol What really got me into anime, was probably Vampire Hunter D and Street Fighter 2, but I used to watch Midnight Run religiously, ever since the 2nd ever episode of DBZ that was aired. Good stuff.
