  1. Did my first 3 placement matches on Overwatch Competitive Season 2 tonight. Went 2-1 so far. My first match was with a horrible team. We never held the point once. My second match we held on after some asshole left our team... once again after we went up 1-0. I clutched it out with D.Va getting 40 elims and 3 triple kills with my ult. The nerf to her defense matrix isn't that bad, but it will def put an end to the double D.Va defense in QP that has become so popular.

The no sudden death works good for payload. My third match we barely capped the point on King's Row and didn't get the payload to the 1st check point. But we stopped the other team from getting as far as we did. It shortens up some of the longer competitive matches. In the past you both got a chance to push it, and then sudden death would choose a team to attack and they had to get it to 1 check point.

  2. BF1 insider codes are in for Open Beta. 6.5GB download. I got so caught up in Overwatch, I could have been playing tonight. X_X.

I got my email with a code, I'll set it to download and jump on there later after work.

  3. I hope the next character Overwatch release is a defense or tank. I keep getting the teams where someone thinks they're a Ana pro. So many losses because of it. It's always my team too. We've resorted to a friend picking Ana, and then when we load in he swaps and I spam emotes and voice lines to cover up the swap. -_-;

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

If her stealth aspect that everyone is guessing becomes true, she could be defense too. If she can cloak, my guess is that her DPS will be on par with Genji's standard attack. She might get a big burst combo like Junkrat's trap/mine or Roadhog's hook-shoot-melee.

I've been playing a lot more Roadhog lately and enjoying it. His self sustain is really good, plus I love hole hog on a surprise flank. It's a triple kill almost every time. If Ana is the only healer I'll go with Roadhog or 76 and heal my damn self. Everytime I try to take one for the team I die to much to make a difference as a healer. Sometimes I'll go with Zenyatta too, but he needs line of sight like Ana, and some people don't know when to come back and get healed, even when I try to be Lucio, people play like mercy was picked and is pocket healing them. XD Mercy's mobility is wild now. She's very hard to hit unless your Reaper, D.Va, Roadhog, or Soldier where you can spray and pray.

  4. Gizmodo made a list of the top 14 weirdest episodes of Quantum Leap. Its really a mix of its weirdest and best in one list. The Oswald 2-part was def an all time favorite of mine. http://io9.gizmodo.com/the-14-weirdest-quantum-leap-episodes-of-all-time-1785484622

I remember the JFK eps and they were really good. But leaping into the body of a space chimp? XD lmao. I don't remember that ep at all. XD

    2. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

XD What? That was a great ep. LMAO I think he was suppose to be euthanize, but in the end he was saved because his handler fell into a river or something, and he saved her. Chimps can't swim, but since Sam did as a chimp, they wanted to study him more, saving his life. XD

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

rotflmao! XD Now I have to watch this episode on netflix. XD

  5. In BF4 my favorite troll was RPG chopper take downs. In Overwatch it's trap/mine Genji, especially in his ult with Junkrat. XD I'll have to upload my match later where two Genji's tried to harass me, I got the better of them both way more times than they got me.

      DeathscytheX

XD I love it when a Genji player just starts his ult right there in plain slight rather than hiding somewhere first. Insta-kill shutdown. XD

  6. Cleared BF4, Blops 3, and The Division off my HD to make way for the Titanfall 2 and BF1 betas. I only had 40gb of free space left before i did so. Now I have 180gb.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

All I have right now is 40gb too. I'm hesitant to delete BF4, but I haven't played it in over a month again and with BF1 coming out I doubt I'll play it again. Once I see a 2tb slim hdd on sale for $60 again I'm going to buy one just to upgrade my ps4 and turn the ps4 500gb hard drive into an external for my pc. Its getting annoying to decide what games to delete when 2 people use the system.

    2. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

Meh, I can't bring myself to take BF4 off considering I do still play it from time to time. I did take The Division off though since I don't ever see myself going back to it. I'm sitting at 80 gigs free now, should be enough for now.

  7. I just found out Overwatch competitive rewards are based on your season high and not current standing. I would have been more aggressive if I would have known. -_-;

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Not only that, but it will give people that prefer that format something to hone their skills in between seasons. Plus competitive matches are longer so you gain more XP overall, even if its a double blow out. As fun as it is to crush the other team quickly in QP, you generally get a laughable PoTG, and little XP. XD

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

That would be amazing but I doubt it'll happen. QP competitive mode would be the equivilant of solo queue for GW2 ranked. They'll never implement it because it would make the queues alot longer for the regular ranked mode. Even with Overwatch's massive user base a QP competitive mode would suck away a good chunk of users out of the matchmaking for regular competitive. As soon as the game starts to get a 3-5 minute queue for a competitive match people will assume the game is dying and move onto another game or go for QP only.

    3. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Nah, it wouldn't change anything. COD has multiple game modes and they've never had any issues. Overwatch has a COD sized player base right now as well. I remember one of the CODs had 2 different TDMs and it didn't effect either one. GW2 suffers because of its casual nature. Overwatch is built around PVP.

  8. I just hit the jackpot on No Man's Sky. I found a planet where 40k credit items litter the ground. I'm gonna have millions of credits soon. XD It will be worth the inventory hassle to ferry them back and forth to any TP I find.

    2. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

I've gone from 400k to 3 million in a few hours of scavenging. XD I can no high roll someone for their ship at a space station and still have some left over.

  9. The human female idle animation post on the GW2 forum was finally locked by a mod, with no dev response. "It's run its course" apparently, more like they got tired of seeing it stay on page 1 for over a year. XD

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

XD It was only a matter of time before it was locked. I'm really surprised they let it go on as long as they did. Theres a good chance it'll come back as a new emote tho now that they're actually adding new ones.

  10. Great, now java updates feature an automatic download of Amazon Assist that you have to uncheck the box with. -_-; Thats as annoying as Flash wanting to install McAfee every update.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I hate that double install BS. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't always checked to auto install.

  11. Saw Guns N Roses last night. What an amazing show. They may be old now, but they still put on one of the best concerts I've ever seen. Axl can still hit those high notes, but you can def tell they were spacing the more vocally intense songs out between their softer ones. It didn't matter. I got to see Slash live and he delivered. Plus watching Axl play piano while Slash did his thing during November Rain reminded me of a time when artists were actually musicians and not auto-tuned pretty faces.

    1. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

Lucky you. I'd really love to see them live especially since I love most of their catalog and because Slash is one of my all time favorite guitarists (I'm happy to see Axl and Slash put aside their differences for this, GNR isn't GNR without those two in my opinion).

  12. My wealth is swelling. I should have near 1600g before LWS3 comes out. Thats uncharted terrority for me since I I've bought precursors the last two times i've reached just under 1100g. So much weird inflation on common items as made making gold super easy. I dumped all my powerful blood before the FGS chain starts. I'll plug away at that all week and save the mats for when prices go back up.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Thats good to know. I'll get my other characters to FGS just for farm weeks like this. I wonder if they'll change the map rewards with tomorrows update. The amazing FGS week might get changed and all the rewards more spread out.

    2. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

I hope not. It's a big cycle it goes around. They can def give better rewards to other maps and have a nice profit week for a few more. I brought up dubloons because apparently you need a ton for juggernaut. It would be nice to give those players some relief that want to make it. Powerful blood comes up on Cursed Shore as well some weeks. Nerfing the fgs wouldn't make sense. The fact that it was one of the game's first farm maps makes it popular when that reward cycle comes out. I bet that's why they threw a bone out to those that still do it.

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

The dubloons in general are the dumbest items in the game. They're only use is for crafting, but you can't deposit them and even though we have jeweler crafting, and we have copper and silver ore, we can't craft either. And on top of it, both will only drop from jumping puzzle chests for low level characters only. If they ever announce that silver dubloons can be crafted, I will craft all my silver ore into them and flood the market with the damn things. lol.

  14. Started TellTale's TWD a few days ago. I def wouldn't have been able to enjoy this on console. It just works for PC much better. The story is pretty good so far, but I really hope I can let Larry die, because I will the first chance I get. XD

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Just wait until you play season 2. It's even better. But damn I do miss Lee. That dude was awesome. He was one of the best characters I've seen in a game in years. When I was watching "fear the walking dead" I had recently beaten this game. They accomplished in that game what would have been an amazing tv series. And the TV series we got instead was a big mess of a failure. I had a significantly bigger emotional attachment to these game characters that I felt horrible when something happened to them. But in Fear TWD any if these characters can get killed off and I wouldn't give a damn.

  15. Finished Coyote Ragtime Show, it was a really fun watch. It would have been better as a 24 ep anime. It felt a little rushed in places due to squeezing everything into 12... a lot of great action though. Now I'm watching Assassination Classroom which has been pretty good so far.

  16. The guy that does Demolition Ranch is officially the coolest dude on YouTube. He has a second channel called Vet Ranch because he is a veterinarian. I have no idea how he has time to document his work and his fun time while editing all the videos to upload for my enjoyment. XD

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

I watched his Demolition Ranch videos for hours the other day... you gotta watch the one about bullet proof cups. WTF? XD They fail spectacularly. In one of his videos he was shooting through steel plates and his wooden rig he made he joked about it being something a veterinarian put together... and then at the end of his video he said he was a veterinarian... I thought he was joking at first about vet ranch so I didn't even bother to check it out. Then it popped up on my suggested list and I'm hooked on that too. Their vet office is funded by youtube viewers, which is amazing. I might have to send a small donation, because they do a lot of good work.

      Sledgstone

Oh man. I loved that drink. I'll definitely buy some. All these years later it'll probably disgust me and ruin all those fond memories. XD

      Strider Hiryu

I'd say I was excited since I used to drink a lot of it as a kid but I don't drink pop anymore >. < I might have to buy some just to see if it tastes
       the same.

  18. Finished Fafner. It felt like an Evangelion wannabe with an ending similar to Eureka 7. I really wanted to like it, but it was just "ok" really. The only interesting thing about the series was how many pilots died throughout it, and how many mechas were lost. They didn't go hand and hand though. Some of the mechas were piloted by multiple people, while some were lost with their pilots. What was most unrealistic to me was how they all lived in isolation on an island, but seemly had unlimited resources to restock their defenses and repair mechas that lost limbs. XD I'll watch the movie later to see if it redeems the series in anyway for me.

    1. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

I thought it was a great show, then again I did watch it back when it aired 12 years ago and haven't watched it since. There were a lot of things I wished they'd of elaborated on while I watched it but it was pretty entertaining overall. There was nothing to salvage after battles Sledge, the enemies weren't human nor did they pilot mechs (they're called Festum and are created by the Mir, what they exactly are is hard to explain) and yes it does take place mostly on the island (some eps take place outside of the island but the majority of it pertains to the islands defenses).

I have yet to watch Heaven and Earth, it's been on my watch list forever and it's buried somewhere on my passport. You'll have to let me know how it is when you watch it. Right of Left was pretty damn good (prequel OVA). I also need to get around to watching Exodus as well but that'll have to wait till after I watch the movie (as it takes place two years after Heaven and Earth).

    2. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Yeah the Festum and Mir could have used more depth instead of everyone sulking about Shoko. I guess I didn't care too much for the characters. I didn't really understand the whole Soshi's eye thing, maybe I missed it looking at my phone, but they seemed to refer to it a lot without explaining what actually happened. The main character leaving with the Neo-UN defector seemed half assed, and his quasi-assimilation seemed cheap since he got all fixed up by info given to them by a Festum. It wasn't a bad show. I just wanted more I guess.

    3. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

I don't even think they go into more depth in the movie or the 2nd series but that was my major problem with the series. The creators dropped the ball on explaining what these beings were (outside of servants of the Mir, who also didn't get any explanation). It's been so long I don't even remember anything about what happened to Soshi (I think he was merging with the system he used to help the pilots, I don't know).

When it aired it was a good show, now maybe not so much. I should probably give it a rewatch to see if it holds up in my book, I've become quite the anime snob in recent years.

  20. I played defense on Volskaya Industries with everyone being Bastion. XD OMG we dominated so hard the whole other team left the lobby after the match. XD

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Only one guy was Genji, no Widowmakers, they had a Zenyatta, soldier 76, reaper, and Roadhog. There might have been dupes because those are the only heroes I saw on the other team. It only worked because it was on Volskaya. That B point is too advantageous to bunker down in.

  21. Finished Yona of the Dawn. I really hope they make a season 2. The story was really good, and leaves so many questions to be answered. the animation was stunningly beautiful too.

  22. I wonder if COD is gonna put out any pre E3 hype like a lot of companies have done the last 2-3 days. They're gonna get overshadowed by BF1 and they might even get boo'ed off the stage. XD

    1. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

They'll try but they'll fail since everyone will be more interested in BF1 and EA Play (which takes place before E3).

I'll be watching the live footage if I remember to watch it for the BF1 64 player battle and watching all the videos Jack, Level, Matimi0, and XFactor put out for it (and possible Neebs as well).

  23. I finisned Aldnoah.Zero on Netflix. It was def one of the better mecha anime I've seen in a while. Serious plot, good political drama, awesome mecha design, and great action every episode. The emotionless child prodigy was a turnoff are first, but the supporting cast made it work.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I finished season 1 tonight. I thought the ending was perfect. Then season 2 started and negated it all. wtf. >_< I'll finish season 2 this upcoming week. I hate emotionless child prodigies. If not for the lack of a female character preaching about pacifisim, this show could have been called "Gundam: Aldnoah.Zero" :P

      Spoiler

The Vers could have owned the earth so easily. But instead of fighting with a big army or at least with a squad, all their OP knights decided to be 1 many armies. I thought after the first couple died, they'd have wised up and grab some support troops, but nope.. they just keep falling like dominoes.

The Vers empire doesn't make sense to me. If the power to initiate the power source could be transferred with a kiss and was tied to their genetic structure, the knights could have overthrown the emperor, force them to activate everything they need and keep him and his family in jail cells or restricted restraints to prevent them from killing themselves and thus deactivating the tech. There was no need for an actual cast system in their society as far as I can tell. Same with this little wheel chair girl in season 2. The Vers Empire's selective breeding of this power is probably why all these knights died against one kid prodigy / vulcan that had nothing more than an education and logic on his side. Since they were born into their privilege they didn't care about actual battle tactics or common sense like bringing support troops to a fight.

Same with the princess. She is the typical weak character that is only important because she simply exists, acts as a plot device in only 1 or 2 key moments and is only important because of her parents, much like Eureka in Eureka 7 and Elizabeth Liones from Seven Deadly Sins.

I did like the battles in this. One of the things that really separate this from a gundam series is the lack of repeat fighting. At least for the first season. If this was gundam, everyone would fight, get more pissed at each other, then escape and go their separate ways, get some new suit upgrade, rinse and repeat. But with Aldnoah.Zero, they kill people and the plot progresses. Yay. :D The plot came together good in the end of season 1 and season 2 was just about to do some space battles right before I shut it off. Looks promising so far.

    2. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Yeah, season 2 gets a lot better as it goes on. So do the battles. The whole feudal system makes the vers interesting.

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I finished this up yesterday. It definitely got better in season 2.

      Spoiler

I liked the other characters, like the PTSD guy, but no character got a hero moment in the entire series because Inaho was involved in every single enemy death. Just when I think one of the other characters was going to shine, Inaho intervened by shooting the enemy from space even tho he wasn't involved with the fight at all. Ruined that fight for me. lol. I'd have rather seen some good guys die as long as I could have seen a single fight that didn't involve Inaho.

Inaho's eyeball was so powerful he could watch a battle in space while standing on the earth's surface. He basically had a satellite with an AI system in his head. His eyeball was the most advanced technology they had compared to Vers' mars tech. They could have put that AI and vision system into all their mechs for a huge advantage.

A main character with a special left eye and a feudal system setting made the second season feel a bit too much like Code Geass. Even Slaine with his dodging ability in his mech was pretty much the same ability of that other guy in Code Geass.

      I didn't like Inaho. XD

  24. Finished Linebarrels of Iron. It was an enjoyable Mecha anime. Although I feel the trend of a main character tapping into a incredible power, only to look weak in a fight unless they have an emotionally traumatic moment is getting old. It seems to be the most overused cliche in all of anime.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Thanks for the heads up about the Eureka Seven AO. I'll pass on that. I watched The Legend of Legendary Heroes, but I can't remember the ending, except that the last 4 or 5 episodes turned into disappointment. I've heard good things about One Punch Man. I looked at some of the manga and everyone appears to be adults and theres a bunch of DBZ style action and even some gore. I think I'll watch this one next.

    2. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

One Punch Man is a parody I believe. The main character is so OP he's constantly bored. You don't remember the ending for LoLH because there wasn't one. -_-; it ended with the massive legion matching to battle and that was it. I just started Gangsta and so far it's good.

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Oh that must be it. lol. I'm pretty certain One Punch man is a parody, but the fights that hes not in is what apparently makes the anime good. His side kick guy is some cyberneticaly enhanced bad ass that has amazing fights. Same with a bunch of other fighters, but theres no real tension in the series because that One Punch Man literally just kills everyone in 1 hit. Its the main reason I've avoided it, but after looking at a couple manga chapters, its really got my attention now.

  25. Since I used my last Citizen Eco-Drive for 12-13 years before the band broke and I left it in the dark for too long, I ordered myself another one. Got a killer deal off jomashop.com. the watch is $725 MSRP and I paid $349. Considering amazon had it listed for $540 I feel I got an unreal price for a titanium timepeice.

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

This is the one i picked up. I love Citizen watches. They look better than Rolex and Omegas IMO. But they dont cost $5-45k XD I couldn't pay that much for a watch even if I was rich. Sure they last forever because they don't need batteries, but a spring or gear can still break or wear and its probably ungodly to get fixed since automatic watches are such a dying art. Citizen is solar powered and as long as you don't do what I did, they'll last a good 25 years until the cell needs to be replaced. Plus this one has a sapphire crystal so the lens shouldn't get all beat up like my old one did.

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Thats a damn nice watch. I had a coworker that loved his Rolex. I just don't see the appeal in wearing $5k minimum on your wrist, that basically advertises yourself as a target for thieves. Some ppl like my old coworker see it as a display of wealth and personal achievement. To each their own I guess. A watch like the one you got is great tho. If you're going to get a watch, get a good one. As for me, I just pull out my phone to see the time. XD I used to wear watches way back in the day, but I'll probably never wear one again. I type way too much every day and the watch bands shred up my keyboard wrist cushions and aggravate my wrist after 8 hours of pressure.

    3. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

I watched a video on Rolex the other night and they aren't even hand made outside of placing the logo inside the face. They are mass produced by machines and really only seem to be valued on their heritage and the fact that they make everything in house. I looked through a bunch of models just for fun and they all seem rather bland... I guess because of their old fashion nature. I'm a feature driven person and it seems you can get more features in a watch in the $200-700 range. One's that are truly handmade are astronomical. I see some on Jomashop for $400k+. With how bad my S6 battery life is, I figured a new timepiece will alleviate some of the strain... plus titanium is super light so I'm excited to see how it feels for being such a large face watch.
