  1. As someone that studied Nazi history extensively. The Man in the High Castle is a fascinating show on Prime Video. I was expecting it to be fully about what would happen if America and Britain lost the war, but its more about the multiverse... so its like alternate history and quantum leap combined? I definitely recommend  despite its slow start for non-history majors.

  2. Being in the grocery business for over a decade and a half you see a lot of product flops, successes, bait & switches, and other flat out BS. In one year I watched Kellogg's decrease the size of their cereal box contents by .5oz-3oz multiple times. They kept the box height the same and made them marginally slimmer each time to make it less noticeable. When Eternal water first hit the shelves it was from "Natural Springs in Norway". One day a coworker noticed it tasted different, and then noticed the bottle now said "From a municipal water source in California". XD I've seen Edy's Ice Cream downsize their containers, and then return them to the old size a year later calling it "Now 20% more!" Nah, you just gave back what you took. The biggest scam of the century is Halo Top ice cream and everyone that's copying it. Halo Top is just jet puffed ice cream. Breyers makes their version, and now Ben & Jerry's is going to make their line of it. You're paying for deceptive portion control. The only reason they are "low calorie" is because there is less ice cream in the cup. Since a pint is by volume and not by actual weight, most people fall for the this trick. You're paying the same, if not more money for the ice cream version of a bag of chips half filled with air. Don't support this crap. Just get regular ice cream and eat less per serving. On a final note, Breyers doesn't even call their product ice cream anymore. Its "Frozen Dairy Dessert". XD WTF I'm glad I have access to Blue Bell. Its still a half gallon, and its still ice cream. http://www.mouseprint.org/2013/01/21/breyers-converts-ice-creams-to-frozen-dairy-desserts/

That big n tasty was my hamburger of choice back when it came out. I wasn't aware they still made them. Burger king burgers are trash but damn their fries are the best. Surprised the hell out of me last month when I broke my burger king hiatus. Those fries are damn good. There's still no Hardees or Carl's Jr anywhere near me but i still see their commercials, same with sonic drive thru. Those Hardees commercials are alot better now. Lol. That slider double burger looks good. Wendy's and 5 guys are the best fast food burgers around here. I'd go to 5 guys more often if they had a drive thru.

      DeathscytheX

Five Guys is amazing, but I don't consider it fast food since you can spend $15 there. I always get the double cheeseburger with everything on it. Wendy's Baconator is one of my favorites.

I like the regular number 1 Dave's single. I still like the Jr bacon cheeseburger if I get like 3 of them. They used to be so much bigger 10 years ago. The baconater has to much bacon for me. Feels like I'm prepping my arteries for a heart attack whenever I eat one. 😂

  3. BF1 insider codes are in for Open Beta. 6.5GB download. I got so caught up in Overwatch, I could have been playing tonight. X_X.

I got my email with a code, I'll set it to download and jump on there later after work.

  4. Bolt is not only visually impressive, Its no where near as common as the 3 legendary Greatswords. Twilight is still my favorite, but Bolt is awesome, and someone complemented me on it during Frozen Maw and asked if it was worth making. XD

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Bolt really is uncommon. I only see maybe a couple a week. That was pretty damn awesome yesterday tho. We made matching legendaries on the same day. After I make another gift of fortune I'm going to buy one of those ghostly infusions for my ranger. XD I have the red SAB infusion but not the blue. Now I kind of regret not getting those yellow sab skins for it. oh well. lol.

  5. BoTW took Game of the Year award and its well deserved, but I'm also glad NieR: Automata got best musical score, because its very well deserved.

If I ever get a switch, BoTW will be the first game I buy.

    2. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

I figured but I still, personally, don't think BoTW deserves game of the year. Not only is it a safe title for Nintendo it's not even an original IP. If anything Horizon deserved GotY but then again it didn't even stand a chance which saddens me because it's a brilliantly designed game with an amazing soundtrack and story. Damn Nintendo fanboys (I'm j/k btw, I've seen the entirety of BoTW with the exception of the ending and even I admit it's a well designed game and one Nintendo knocked out of the park but sadly since it's Zelda it was guaranteed the GotY award because of nostalgia. No other game ever stood a chance).

  6. Cellular service has become more shit the more advance the technology has become. I went through Hurricane Ivan and Katrina.. both Cat 4-5 storms with extreme wind damage and didn't have any loss of service the entire time, even with the power off for a week. Sally rolls through almost 2 decades later as a cat 2 hurricane and cellular service is unreliable for many people in my area. I wish SMS could work off WIFI like calls can, because having to rely on some shit tower that might be too far off or isn't operational is irritating.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I hate SMS never using wifi. I downloaded google messages app and use it as my sms program because it's supposed to work over wifi when cell service isn't available. It should technically work but it's completely unreliable imo. I had wifi calling on all the time under the advanced calling setting but it would never make the call over wifi because I always had 1 crap 3g bar of connection that it would default to. And there is no way to force the phone to use wifi for calling and texting by default. So wherever I was home I'd have the wifi calling turned on and I'd have to turn my phone onto airplane mode to force the phone to disconnect from cell service so wifi calling and texting would work. I was able to make calls and get text in airplane mode but after a week of doing that I had people tell me they called and it would sometimes go straight to voicemail or I'd get a text a day late or not at all. Eventually I got that femtocell from Verizon to give me full bars of service inside my house over my internet. I have seen tho that it has dropped coverage once when verizon had a service outage. I guess when their service goes completely down it's not just a cell tower issue because my femtocell directly connects to Verizon servers over the internet.

Google messages stating it'll work over wifi:

      Screenshot_20200918-082201_Chrome.thumb.jpg.031f785ae3457103046834874e3eab41.jpg

You can try downloading it, turn on wifi calling and then switch to airplane mode and see if it works? But airplane mode sucks and might silent alarms, etc.

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I just realized that pic says google fi help. Ehh. I don't think that makes a difference because I remember getting texts over my phone in airplane mode. Maybe some android OS updates has made it more reliable than when I used it like that.

  7. Chalice of Tears is one of the most hateful things Anet has ever done. To make you do it twice or even three times if you didn't want the anomaly taking up inventory space is even worse. Even the last section is an insane jump that if you mess it up you'd have to start all over again. Thankfully I was able to run the port group twice today to get the worst part of this legendary trinket collection out of the way. -_-; Ports were very rare as this content got older, and it will def become that way again after the expac launches.

Once you get the tokens done the Zinn should only take you a little more than an hour. I did CoT right before I got off last night, it was the same guy, he ran runs all day every hour. But a second train started from another group right when we were almost done.

I finished the Siren's Landing JP tonight, and it actually wasn't bad at all. It had one of my least favorite things in landing on precise slim poles, but I some how made every landing. There are two check points marked by waterlogged chests. Since you got to cheat on the Searing Accent without having to use them, they work by special action key if you fall, you can just use it to teleport back to the chest. I think if you die it goes away though. But there shouldn't be any reason to die since you can glide. The second and last check point is half way through the JP though so you basically have to do half of it with the most pole jumps between that and the end. I did it on my DD, when I normally do these on my mesmer for portal insurance. I was brave. XD You should def portal scroll your mes since the JP is right near the start. Either way it was the least frustrating next to the Doric puzzle if you can call that a JP. I actually did most of it by myself only referring to the dulfy video when I wasn't 100% sure.

  8. Checked my crafting station with the mind set of making ascended armor for the first time. I was able to craft 2 more pieces for my Guardian. I just need to save up more damask to get the last 3. I might as well get it done before they increase the requirements more. It's been a while since I spent all day on GW2.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I have 2 pieces of ascended armor on my warrior from ascended armor drops from fractals (i know at least 1 was from fractals, can't remember about the other). But I've been doing fractals off and on for over a year. And I thought it'd be a good way to farm ascended armor. jokes on me. x_x

  9. Cleared BF4, Blops 3, and The Division off my HD to make way for the Titanfall 2 and BF1 betas. I only had 40gb of free space left before i did so. Now I have 180gb.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

All I have right now is 40gb too. I'm hesitant to delete BF4, but I haven't played it in over a month again and with BF1 coming out I doubt I'll play it again. Once I see a 2tb slim hdd on sale for $60 again I'm going to buy one just to upgrade my ps4 and turn the ps4 500gb hard drive into an external for my pc. Its getting annoying to decide what games to delete when 2 people use the system.

    2. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

Meh, I can't bring myself to take BF4 off considering I do still play it from time to time. I did take The Division off though since I don't ever see myself going back to it. I'm sitting at 80 gigs free now, should be enough for now.

  10. Condi'ed out my Rev WvW style. I need 2 earrings and I'll be fully ascended. Cost me 400g to do for the armor. I already had the mace/axe/staff to stat swap. I didn't get to test it out because I spent 4 hours farming AB for Superior Runes of Durability. But it gave me a chance to learn the class more. I have 20k HP, a ton of toughness, and I can rack up 4k ticks of torment and confusion on vets. Getting rolled on by arrowheads only takes 15% of my HP. XD I can't wait to give this a shot tomorrow night with what I have.

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I'm surprised you actually saw Cloud Fly die. XD Use berserker stance for the resistance to negate condi damage and try to go berserk mode as much as possible since the eternal champion trait will give you stability whenever you break a stun and enter berserk mode. Thats how I secure alot of stomps in pvp with my warrior. Headbutt alone is a stun break so I usually get stability from it, then it hits, activate berserk for even more stability. I don't have to dedicate any utilities for stability with that eternal champ trait. :D

    2. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

Yeah I'm sticking with Dire Guard... this shit is so OP it should be illegal. XD Purging Flames does 10k damage? WTF? I nuked some guy overlooking a gate we were flame ramming. He didn't expect it and just got insta downed and melted. I have 22.5k HP. I played for a little bit in JQBL with a small squad of about 7. Is always fun when someone comes to attack you like a DD, thinking your an AH Frontline, and you drop that burn on them and they freak out and run away. I watched 3 people just run from me when I dropped purging flames on them. Most of the time it kills them if they aren't a warrior or rev. XD I had a Warrior do GS3 off a ledge just so I couldn't get his bag. Judges Intervention also adds to it as well, because I got someone that was with him and jumped on their corpse thinking they could 2v1 me. XD

I tried to play in a big zerg on EB, but I couldn't get into the squad because it was full. I did ok, but I wasn't getting any of the group support so when my stability and cleanse ran out I often got gravity welled... damn FA loves their mesmers. Its pretty annoying... the whole condi meta is a bit absurd. I'd die and WP only to have 5-6 bags in my inventory from people that died from my flame nuke. WvW should really be put on its own mode with a PvP type class builder. Burn guard is way more OP in WvW than it is in PvP. I mean, I can launch 5k ticks of burning without purging flames. Condi needs to be toned down a lot, but I'll keep abusing the shit out of it until its fixed. Dire gear is super cheap... and the trinkets are cheap too because Tequatl's fang and Amulet of Triple Curiosity are both Dire. The rings are 3g each, and you'll spend about 6-7g on the armor. Luckily I kept the 2 level 80 back pieces from the druid stone asc back collection and got a exotic dire back going too. I could give the other one to my necro if i wanted to try Dire Reaper.

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I should work on that druid back piece. I completely threw that to the back burner and forgot all about it. I'll probably buy another blood ruby backpack and blood ruby amulet tho and use those instead since they are quasi legendary. I can select dire (or trailblazer) stats on them and if I ever want to change it, it only costs 100 UB to buy the capacitor to stat swap it. Its one of the main reasons I do 2 bsf dailies every day. Once the next expansion comes out and if viper, or celestial or commander, etc. becomes the meta for guardian, I'll quickly have a back, amulet and earring stat swapped and ready to go. Same with all my other characters. I'm trying to get at least half of them setup with these 3 bloodstone ascended items each.

  11. Cop Craft is the most underrated, under the radar series this past season. Its not some masterpiece for the ages, but damn it was a ride from start to finish. If you liked BRIGHT on Netflix, this is pretty much the anime long form of it. Action, Gore, and a splash of dry humor, packed into 12 eps is worth a watch. It will probably never get a seconds season, and thats ok. If you have 6 hours to blow, it's worth a binge.

Imma share this again because the OP is so late 90s. I just love it. One of those few I never skipped.

  12. Crystal Pepsi is coming back in the next few weeks. I was 9 years old when it came out and I can't even remember what it tasted like. XD I look forward to trying it again.

  13. Deep into my one and only mobile game, Facebook caught wind. 🙄 I've spent the past 2 weeks grinding out on Azur Lane. I've pretty much fallen in love with the simple little game. I enjoy the collecting, retrofitting, gearing, dorm managing and commissioning more than the actual missions. XD  But now I get every shit shovelware ad for mobile games on my facebook feed. Kiss of War, Raid Shadow Legends, Epic Seven, Iron Saga. I wonder how much they actually add to their playerbase/funds from these? I don't choose to hide the ads because the comments section are gold with the mockery. Of course I only get these ads on my phone while on my PC i get FFXIV ads which I already have a sub too, and some anime crate which I allow to keep showing because I've hid every other possible ad in the algorithm from showing up. I rather just keep that one around because they have nice promo art most the time.

    1. Sledgstone

A friend of mine asked me to look up some Rec Tec smokers and now all my Facebook ads are for Rec Tec grills. XD the only Facebook ads I had to block are political ones. Trump specifically. I hate the guy, I sure as hell don't want to see his face on my feed in between posts from the meat smoking fans and pomeranian fans posts. XD

My feed is like.. onion article, cute dog, smoked prime rib, space article, random friend posts, cat memes, kotaku article, etc. Most of my ads now are amazon and walmart products I've googled.

One of the funniest ads I saw was for traeger grills. It was a smoker and the guy cooking ribs was wearing a suit. The comments were amazing. "When I smoke meat I always wear my suit, that way I smell like charcoal at the office." XD

  14. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is on Netflix dubbed. There was so much hype around this series when it was on simulcast. I really enjoyed it. The animation is well done, especially for the fights. A lot of action and gore with a little light hearted comedy. Its worth a watch.

    1. Strider Hiryu

One of the best damn shows of it's season and definitely can't wait for the movie to come state side since I hear it's just as amazing (giving ufotable a movie budget is nuts, I can only imagine what they did with it). Really hoping we get a second season and seeing how well the movie did in Japan I have really high hopes it will. Another bonus is the manga is done so we won't have to wait if they do decide to adapt the whole thing (though I hear the ending isn't exactly great).

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I finished watching Demon Slayer over the weekend. Great anime. :D Maybe its just me but I felt like it got alot of inspiration from Anne Rice's vampire novels with the power of the demon blood. And with 1 original demon with the most powerful blood of them all, it was like he was the equivalent of the Queen of the Damned. Really good series. I love that it time skipped around too and there was nothing that felt like filler. I hope a second season happens.

  15. Did my taxes today. Got my biggest return I ever had. I found that interesting since everyone was trying to say all the stimulus checks were going to make it smaller. I also worked OT a lot this past year during the pandemic... to the tune of $11,000 extra to my base pay. XD

    1. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

I had no idea menards only hired PT. That's some bullshit. My last 3 jobs I got from temp agencies. Those 3 companies I worked for all had a policy of exclusively hiring full time temps only because they could get full time employees without having to pay benefits and they could fire them for no reason if they wanted and have no repercussions from it. The temp agency could work ppl full time for 3 months before benefits would kick in. So either the job they get you hires you directly after 3 months or they let you go and the temp agency then has no job available and because the hours would drop from 40 to zero they wouldn't have to pay benefits either. It's a shitty system to, but maybe some temp agencies around you have some jobs available?

    2. Strider Hiryu

      Strider Hiryu

It's really the only way Menard's makes money. They can't really compete with Lowe's and Home Depot due to their limited reach (and shitty tools, they don't sell anything of quality) and the owners and big wigs are pretty shitty people all around. The only reason the one I work at does so well is the nearest Lowe's is an hour and a half away so most people don't want to drive that far to get actual, quality shit. I never thought I could hate a company more then I hated Walmart but Menards makes Walmart look like saints

Meh, the temp agency market here is pretty dried up atm due to the lack of jobs since, as noted, most of them rely heavily on the oil field (and the ones hiring are hiring in places I'd have to move to). I'm honestly at the point where I might just start looking elsewhere for a job since I'm sick of this city and only moved out here due to family issues. Sadly I can't afford  to get a place atm so it'll be really hard justifying a move with little money unless I find a job that pays quite a bit more (which is unlikely out here since this is the only part of the state where most jobs are willing to pay a living wage of $15 or more (and that's getting rarer now with the oil field being in shambles and most people moving out of the state and back home)). Plus with the issues that have cropped up recently (one of the reasons I've been awol) I can't really leave.

    3. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Damn that sucks. I hope Menards gets their shit together and gets you on full time soon.

  16. Dr. Stone season 2 started... at least ep 1 of the dub is up. I adore this series so much. Its such a nerdgasm of an anime. Yeah its cheesy, and even a stretch on half the shit they do. But damn the first season was a blast and now that we're headed towards the Stone Wars. I can't wait to see where it goes.

  18. Eh, we got cheated on this short season of GoT. As cool as the winterfell battle was, the Night King's death felt so meaningless. And now Danny is insane?  C'mon... Yeah shes my favorite character, and I wouldn't have minded a descent into madness, but a flip in 2 eps? It's so forced it's sad. Just because Jon told the fam about his heritage and her friend got cut down. It made for an action packed ep, but it didnt make a lot of sense. The Hound and Mountain rivalry was resolved which is what I'm satisfied with... Mountain looked like bloated Darth Vader. 😂😂

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

I had four favorite characters. Two made it all the way to the end... the other two made it to the final two episodes. Not bad. Tyrion, Bronn, Sandor, and Dany. Dany got screwed as a character... like I said, it could have worked with more development. The end of it was there, and sorta the beginning when he burned Sam's father and brother, but the path in between was nonexistent. The Master of Grammar line was the best part of the finale. XD

    2. Sledgstone

      Sledgstone

Dany should have been queen and not gone all super tyrannical. 😕 The writing was bad and the ending was so blah compared to the rest of the series. It could have gone alot better. Now my major concern is the two directors. Once there was no more source material this is the best they could come up with? These are the two guys that will be directing the next trilogy of star wars movies. Ugh.

Btw I saw 2 memes last night.. I should have saved them. Both were of Bronn. One quoted Dany's speech about breaking wheels and there's Bronn in his wheel chair "what was that about wheels?" XD the other showed Bronn sitting in the wheel chair.. "Bronn has been sitting on the throne for the last 8 seasons" or something like that. XD

  19. Facebook's trending feed is such garbage. If you see a topic you're interested its clickbait 99% of the time. 1. Sledgstone

lol. and because you clicked it, its now trending more for other people. XD

  20. FINALLY made Platinum on Overwatch comp. Went on a 6 win 1 draw streak after the opening match was a loss. Once the team scores start averaging 2500 Its so much better. They honestly need to scrap the algorithm that ranks you lower on purpose after placement matches. 2300 and below is horrific with idiotic picks. Once I got past my season high and hit the mid 2400's the team comp and matches were insanely different and way more competitive. Elo Hell is a real thing for solo q, I don't care what Force Gaming says or anyone else. You can't make much of a difference when someone is picking a bad pick on attack. Damn I'm thrilled right now.

  21. Finished Coyote Ragtime Show, it was a really fun watch. It would have been better as a 24 ep anime. It felt a little rushed in places due to squeezing everything into 12... a lot of great action though. Now I'm watching Assassination Classroom which has been pretty good so far.

  22. Finished Darling in the Franxx today. Its definitely not for everyone. It starts out confused to what it is. A lot of people could give up on it after the first few eps. What's seemingly a corny mecha series with horny teens quickly evolves into an interesting and mysterious world were a group of kids try to find their place on society and struggle to cope with their emotions. Lately, I've been unintentionally watching series with slow build ups that lead to big payoffs and this is one of them. Having to wait each week for a new episode deprived me of the instant gratification or lack there of I'm accustomed to. The series ends without answering a lot of questions and adding a few more about the actual social structure and why the world is the way it is. But the questions about Hiro's issues and his explainable connection to 002 are all resolved. The animators of Gurren Lagann did this series, and it's easy to see that. Instead of a over the top epic tale, we get a darker world with mysterious creatures that probably wont be explained until next season.

XD kotaku actually did an article about how weird it was and then two more articles later their opinion evolved.

  23. Finished Fafner. It felt like an Evangelion wannabe with an ending similar to Eureka 7. I really wanted to like it, but it was just "ok" really. The only interesting thing about the series was how many pilots died throughout it, and how many mechas were lost. They didn't go hand and hand though. Some of the mechas were piloted by multiple people, while some were lost with their pilots. What was most unrealistic to me was how they all lived in isolation on an island, but seemly had unlimited resources to restock their defenses and repair mechas that lost limbs. XD I'll watch the movie later to see if it redeems the series in anyway for me.

I thought it was a great show, then again I did watch it back when it aired 12 years ago and haven't watched it since. There were a lot of things I wished they'd of elaborated on while I watched it but it was pretty entertaining overall. There was nothing to salvage after battles Sledge, the enemies weren't human nor did they pilot mechs (they're called Festum and are created by the Mir, what they exactly are is hard to explain) and yes it does take place mostly on the island (some eps take place outside of the island but the majority of it pertains to the islands defenses).

I have yet to watch Heaven and Earth, it's been on my watch list forever and it's buried somewhere on my passport. You'll have to let me know how it is when you watch it. Right of Left was pretty damn good (prequel OVA). I also need to get around to watching Exodus as well but that'll have to wait till after I watch the movie (as it takes place two years after Heaven and Earth).

Yeah the Festum and Mir could have used more depth instead of everyone sulking about Shoko. I guess I didn't care too much for the characters. I didn't really understand the whole Soshi's eye thing, maybe I missed it looking at my phone, but they seemed to refer to it a lot without explaining what actually happened. The main character leaving with the Neo-UN defector seemed half assed, and his quasi-assimilation seemed cheap since he got all fixed up by info given to them by a Festum. It wasn't a bad show. I just wanted more I guess.

I don't even think they go into more depth in the movie or the 2nd series but that was my major problem with the series. The creators dropped the ball on explaining what these beings were (outside of servants of the Mir, who also didn't get any explanation). It's been so long I don't even remember anything about what happened to Soshi (I think he was merging with the system he used to help the pilots, I don't know).

When it aired it was a good show, now maybe not so much. I should probably give it a rewatch to see if it holds up in my book, I've become quite the anime snob in recent years.

  24. Finished Linebarrels of Iron. It was an enjoyable Mecha anime. Although I feel the trend of a main character tapping into a incredible power, only to look weak in a fight unless they have an emotionally traumatic moment is getting old. It seems to be the most overused cliche in all of anime.

Thanks for the heads up about the Eureka Seven AO. I'll pass on that. I watched The Legend of Legendary Heroes, but I can't remember the ending, except that the last 4 or 5 episodes turned into disappointment. I've heard good things about One Punch Man. I looked at some of the manga and everyone appears to be adults and theres a bunch of DBZ style action and even some gore. I think I'll watch this one next.

One Punch Man is a parody I believe. The main character is so OP he's constantly bored. You don't remember the ending for LoLH because there wasn't one. -_-; it ended with the massive legion matching to battle and that was it. I just started Gangsta and so far it's good.

Oh that must be it. lol. I'm pretty certain One Punch man is a parody, but the fights that hes not in is what apparently makes the anime good. His side kick guy is some cyberneticaly enhanced bad ass that has amazing fights. Same with a bunch of other fighters, but theres no real tension in the series because that One Punch Man literally just kills everyone in 1 hit. Its the main reason I've avoided it, but after looking at a couple manga chapters, its really got my attention now.

  25. Finished Ultraman on Netflix, the story was good but it left too much unanswered... and the biggest travesty was the CGI. Holy cow it was wildly inconsistent and mostly all bad. The distance shots looked like some PS1 stuff, like they didnt know what shading was. They spent all the money on the final fight which was awesome, and then the last few minutes got really bad. XD
