  1. My neighbor next door is moving so he had a full house sale over the weekend. I lucked out and bought his snowblower for $150. O_O Its got some years of use on it, but hes kept it in amazing shape. A new gas one like this is around $800+. I hope it works great this next winter. It could save me all kinds of time shoveling.

  2. Finished Gundam SEED tonight. As cliche as it could get, I still really enjoyed it. Mecha designs were above average.... and despite a lot of recycled animation during battles, I still found them engaging and entertaining... and all the love interests swapping around tickled my fancy. XD Character deaths were pretty brutal as well. Its def worth watching for the average fan. Better than Unicorn, but not IBO as far as recently watched Gundam series.

When Netflix reveals the live action Gundam series. I hope the trailer opens up with Domon Kasshu asking "Do you know this man?" XD

Unicorn's man protagonist is the most annoying whiney bitch in the entire Gundam universe.

Yeah its pretty massive. I had to clear out a space in my entertainment console to put it as it wont go under on beside my TV. I gave it the biggest cove so it wont overheat.. but so far it doesn't seem to get very hot. At first it kinda smelled like burnt plastic the first hour... only when you get really close to it... I guess not burnt plastic but more like when you turn your heater on for the first time. The UI is crips and has zero lag like the PS4 when you try to move around too fast on it. The power saver options are nice as well as the conviencnes of it asking if you want to download all the major streaming apps during set up. Funi is the only thing I use since my SmartTV doesnt have that app, but still nice.

The controller had to be updated as well, Ill use a different controller tomorrow to see if I need to do it to all 3. At first I thought it was just on the console side but it told me not to unplug it from the PS5.

The dualsense is very nice. Its got good heft and the dynamic rumble is impressive so far. I haven't had any experiance with haptic feedback yet though.

The HD space is a joke.... I tell you that right now. I automatically downloaded playroom, with that, some stream apps, my save data. Spider-Man and COD Cold War. My SSD is already half full.

Yeah. Getting one is straight up RNGesus. Like I have my card info saved on Walmart, Gamestop, Target, Best Buy, and Amazon. I've always got the same.... either sold out or I get it in the cart and get errors on the final check out step. My friend calls me... tells me its in his cart and if he should buy it... I'm raging because I feel like he wasted the opportunity. I'm like YES DO IT!.... dude MANUALLY types in his credit card info and get it... wtf?

I already have COD so I gave him that as his finder fee. There isn't much out for PS5 because everything keeps getting pushed back for the sole fact that software sales are probably trash since PS5s are mostly in scalpers closets. This is the worst its ever been. We're almost at 6 months now... Half a year and people can't get their hands on either next gen console. I'm just glad to have one finally. I hate gamestop... and they're def taking advantage of the situation... I'm just glad I got a bundle worth getting. I haven't played Spider-Man yet.... I didn't want NBA 2K so I'm glad it wasn't that bundle.

  5. While wholly unoriginal. The "final" season of Attack on Titan is brutally dark and amazing. The Titan's origins are explained... but we fall back on racism and xenophobia... Code Geass/Aldnoah.Zero style and every other anime that use it as a crutch. They literally are pulling and blending aspects of WWII German and Japanese culture. But it works. I've heard the final season won't cover to the end of the manga, which I suspected since there is way to much left.... but I also heard there will be a sequel series. I stopped reading the manga when I reached the end of where it was at the time... which is still probably after this anime ends. Is it the best ever? Nah... but for me its highly entertaining.... the anime pacing, seasonal wise was handled poorly due to the no use of fillers, but at the same time not waiting for the manga to get to a certain point. I've said it before, but season 2 shouldn't exist. It should have been parts of season 1 and 3. If you binge it now, it won't make a difference though since you didn't have to wait. Regardless, this series has some of the best high tension action sequences around... and the damn near best monologue I've ever seen on a show of any medium. I'll be interested to see where they call it for the end.

I rank this the best fucking dub performance of all time... I don't even like this character, but this scene made me respect him and the voice actor that fucking nailed it... which leads to the best action sequence by the best character of this series not contained in this clip.

Season 2 was awful because it was like something taken out of context. Season 3 is amazing and often forget it's split into two since there was a long break in the middle of it. Part 2's sequence of eps is where the pacing takes off and it hasn't stopped yet.

  6. I got a root canal today. F*ck that. Took 1.5 hours this morning. The tooth wasn't cracked so it didn't have to be pulled. But he had to cut a couple millimeters off my jaw line in between the 2 teeth so a crown could get properly mounted. The inside of my jaw looks totally jacked right now. And he accidentally cut the base of my tongue because I guess I moved it by accident. That hurts more than the jaw right now. I have a temp filling in the tooth and it the tooth looks like a square. I have to let this heal for almost a month before I can get a crown molded for it. Fml.

  7. So just found out Spotify has all of the My Hero Soundtracks (I now have epic music to game to) and all the music from Zombie Land Saga on it (even the insert songs, I get to listen to Saki's song legally now. Fucking yay!). Completely lost my shit when I found out.

Glad to see Spotify is starting to get more Japanese music streaming rights and is finally getting all those anime OPs/EDs that I love. Makes listening to them so much easier now (instead of rummaging through my 191 gigs of music). Now if only they'd get there hands on Myth & Roid's shit (outside of the one album) so I can listen to some Shadowgraph (they're extremely protective of their stuff as it all used to be up on Spotify then it was all removed suddenly).

  8. Did my taxes today. Got my biggest return I ever had. I found that interesting since everyone was trying to say all the stimulus checks were going to make it smaller. I also worked OT a lot this past year during the pandemic... to the tune of $11,000 extra to my base pay. XD

Yeah the ACA or what is left of it really changed the landscape on how part time works. Right now were struggling because we've been balls to the wall letting our PTers work all the way past 40 so now we have to keep them all under 30 for the next 8 weeks to pop their avg hours back down. I remember working PT back in 2002-2004, and I'd come in 4 hours early some days, work 40+ a week because I was 18 and I wanted the money. It was my choice and eventually I did get FT.

A lot of people look at is as if companies are abusing people by hiring them PT so they can work them 60 hours without benefits, which simply isn't true.. I'm sure it happens but as a majority rule, no one is going to stick around for that unless they want to do it. When they started forcing companies to provide healthcare to people that worked over 32 hours a week, I remember the wholesale job cuts that came, along with strictly enforcing that no PTs went over 30. People lost money. Is it right to work OT every week as a PT worker? Probably not, but everyone should have that option in case money gets tight I mean its all on lock down, even to the time clocks not letting you punch in early these days.

The tax code is def a mess. I got my smallest return 2 years ago when I paid off my student loan and couldn't claim the interest anymore. This pasty year I made 9k more, because I probably worked 6 days a week for more than 35% of the year. I get overtime every week, but I was getting way more this year. So much that If I didn't work any extra OT this year (which won't happen) I would make the same amount in a higher position. My return was $444 larger than last year. I was definitely expecting to get a lot less.

  10. I got the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. Now that 5G is a thing, I felt it was time to get a true 5G phone. Plus the newest firmware update kind make the S10+ a little wacky. The weirdest thing is the standardization of all messaging apps. I kinda liked the facebook bubble chat heads... but now you have to activate it and it doesn't work like it use too. I turned it back off and its just like the standard SMS app with the previews and pop ups.

Unrelated but if you use Snapchat, it doesn't really update very well. I've had it since 2014, but only recently started using it because I got a lot of work friends on it. Little did I know it had its own sound package, but it always used my standard notification when people snapped me or typed a message. When some new features came out that wouldn't appear, I deleted it and reinstalled it. It has its own notification, including one for when your BFs snap you. When I transfered all my stuff to my new phone it reverted to using the standard phone notification so I had to delete it again and reinstall. so odd.

Anyways. The phone is big... and heavy. I like this... the ultra thin and lightweight phone thing needed to go. Shit still broke when it hit the ground. I like some heft in the hand. The screen is wild crisp. Its amazing how this tech keeps getting better. As a result the battery life is about the same. I think we peaked on that. While its bigger, so is the screen and all the features. The camera is a monster. I think its 100+ MP on the back and 40mp on the front. Its really detailed.

One of the complaints is the camera lenses make the phone uneven in the back so it will rock on the table.. I got a casemate for mine. They've always been good to me with there ultra sleek designs that don't add too much more bulk to phones. Thankfully my case evens out the backside so it sits normal. The extra millimeter this adds to the overall thickness is again welcomed IMO. I also like how the samsung transfer app basically duped my old phone into my new one. home screen, app layout, alarms, wifi connections, etc. The only thing that didn't come over where my biometric log ins to all my sites. Also my wireless charge stand works which is a plus since I use it as a bedside clock.

I contemplated the iPhone 12 Pro Max because most my friends have iPhone and their iMessage app now has reactions like FB messenger does. So when they use it it sends the whole text back with the "laughs at.... (novel of a text)". but Honestly I have so much invested into the Samsung ecosystem... plus I'm spoiled with my 5x5 app grid layout that Apple refuses to allow. 4 across is lame. Samsung makes better phones, and sells components to Apple anyways. I'll be riding this train until Apple can bring out something that really blows me away.

Its not ultimate protection, but its all I ever need. I don't drop phones... ever. I've only ever cracked one screen and it was my S10+ when I braced a heavy pallet on my leg where it was in my pocket. Its one of those just in case things.

  11. I got a promotion with my job yesterday. I'll now be making more than I ever have doing this. $60k a year to do something I barely got paid $35k for at my previous company. The best news is that I'll have Saturdays off, and get off by 6-7pm on most days. I don't have to go to bed like some retiree anymore. So hopefully by the end of this year. Battlefield 6 will be out... it will be good... and maybe we can get the band back together @Sledgstone and @Strider Hiryu. Even though Strider is PC master race. I'm sure it'll have cross play. My gaming life has really suffered these past 3 years.

I think the cooling system/fans are broke. It came back on a few days later and I played for a few hours and streamed some.. but tonight I let YT run for 2-3 hours and started playing a game and it cut off on me again. I guess I'll have to limit my playing time until I get a PS5. I'm not paying to fix it or get a new PS4.

I hope this is true, but not cross gen. What is the point? Old consoles would still be limited to 64.. or 100 at best.

If done right this is what can be achieved.

8-10+ flag conquest... I think 5 is the most I've ever seen with Flag E.
With that many flags, and map size you'd have to double the vehicle count.
Lets face it. Caspian Border, at its current size could do 8 flags with more vehicles. It's a map that was too open and large for this gen.
Not just assault vehicles... more of those.. but a lot more jeeps and ATVs as well to traverse the map.
Fuck it. 128 player Operation Metro and Operation Locker. XDXDXD Copy COD and have 24/7 playlists. (Lock the Metro fam!)
Say what you want about that, but 27/4 Shipment on MW and Nuketown on BLOPs is just a blast when you don't want to be serious.
CQC maps are a must. Ziba Tower and Scrapmetal were a ton of fun. Just don't bring back that fucking Gunmaster assignment.
Believe it or not. BF3 had 29 maps by the end of its life. BF4 had 32. Obviously there were some locked behind gamemodes. But lets start with more than just 8 maps. Give us 15. Even if most of them are recycles. Plus you can dig into BF2's huge maps that haven't been seen by most players these days. The Iron Gator!

      Starting Map Wishlist:
      Strike at Karkand
      Operation Metro
      Operation Locker
      Rogue Transmission
      Siege of Shanghai
      Gulf of Oman
      Paracel Storm
      Zavod 311
      Grand Bazaar
      Tehran Highway
      Talah Market
      Sharqi Peninsula

      DLC Map Wishlist
      Ziba Tower
      Scrapmetal
Isla Inocentes (Bad Company 2 represent!)
      White Pass
      Port Valdez
      The Iron Gator
      Dragon Valley
      Road to Jalalabad
      Flood Zone

Literally you could just not make new maps, You could expand old ones and I'd be happy.

Nah, you struggled in the Cold War beta because all the guns are absolute shit in base form. Gameplay wise is actually pretty good once you marathon Nuketown 24/7 with a few guns and get them proper attachments... like level 15-20 worth of attachments.

XD I tried so hard to do mouse and keyboard and I just can't do it on mutli. We can all suck ass, so long as its modern, has RPGs, and we can go around trolling choppers again. XD

  15. I marathoned Breaking Bad over the last 2 weeks. I really enjoyed it. But it had one of my least favorite cliches.... and that's when there are two characters, and they're never in sync with each other. One is always on the up while the other fucks it up. Walter and Jesse just couldn't keep it together at the same time the whole series. Saul Goodman was such a good character I marathoned what Netflix had of Better Call Saul after that. Kinda slow at times, and not what I was expecting.. but still a good watch as well.

    1. DeathscytheX

      DeathscytheX

He would def have to be one of your favorite characters for you to be into the show. It was nothing like I thought it was going to be. I was expecting it to be about more of his illegal antics outside of Walter and Jesse, but its more a prequel of how he became Saul Goodman. He still has a sense of morality and feels bad when he does shady stuff. Its more about a reject getting his way though the world than a crime drama.

  18. I want to strangle the person and/or people who installed the deck at my house. They did everything wrong. x_x I think two more weekends of work and another $100 more in wood and hardware and I'll be done fixing its supports for this winter. They installed the deck right to the concrete blocks that act as a skirt around the house. These blocks do not provide any structural benefit to the house, its just a wall for the crawl space.. but these blocks are just stacked on each other and stucco'd so it all looks like a normal basement wall.. well the deck settled over the years and caused the back wall to start collapsing.

These idiots didn't connect the deck hardware correctly and they had the far support beam that all the joists are connected to attached to those blocks.. Because the hardware wasn't secured the board bowed outwards into those blocks causing them to shift.. the weight of those blocks pulled on the board more and the issue compounded itself. So could I just jack up that board? Nope.. because I had to reinforce the corners and connect all the joists to that board first or the entire back of the deck would collapse. And its a big deck, 1,000+ pounds of wood. I fixed the corner, added support pieces, disconnected the concrete blocks from the wood, used these beefy ass clamps that I bought from Lowes to pull the board back into place and secure it to the joists with structural exterior screws.. and now I have to add 3 new 4x4 supports to distribute the weight away from that wall. Pain in my ass. I'm glad I have my 3 ton jack from when I used to do car work. That jack can lift any part of this deck no problem which has been very helpful during these repairs.

Turns out that entire back beam was being secured to all the rest of the wood of the deck with only 10 nails and 4 screws. I can understand cutting corners to save money, but holy f*ck that was dangerous. And deck hardware is expensive as hell. I've dropped $100 easy on 4 boxes of different screws, nails and structural screws. Those structural screws are just over $1 a piece. It all adds up quick. After last weekend that board and the corner its attached to is now connected with 40 additional screws and 14 structural screws. Thats no even counting all the extra nails I put in on the corresponding opposite ends of all the joists. Each joist hanger is supposed to have 8 nails, four 1 1/2 nails and four 3 inch nails. These jack asses used 2 small nails for each joist hanger and literally set all the joists in them without connecting them.. all that weight just free floating. The only thing keeping them all in place was the deck boards we walk on on the top.. of course all of those deck boards were only connected with 4 screws each instead of 8 or 12 depending on the length of the boards. So when I was doing all the work, I had to leave those top deck boards in place to keep everything together while I crawled under there, only a 2 foot clearance, and did all that work. wtf.

  19. Haven't been on much, posting much, replying much lately. Lots of things going on in my life. About 12 years or so ago I moved out for the first time with a friend. I wasn't making any more than $11 an hour but I just wanted to live the bachelor life. Needless to say, I didn't make enough to support my lifestyle. I swiped the credit card for groceries, dates, emergencies, etc all to make rent/power. I got myself into about $30k in credit card debt. Eventually I had to move back in with my parents. I spent the last decade paying all my mistakes off and saving up thanks to my old company shutting my store down and me getting into a better company that pays significantly better.

I signed a lease today on my own place. This will be my first time I'm truly living on my own. I kinda sorta did the first go since my roommate was never home... but its all me this time. found a nice little 1br apt and will be moving in over the next several days. I shouldn't miss too much as I have AT&T Fiber Optic internet being installed the day of move in. 1000mbps FTW! I'm really pumped about it. Hopefully soon I'll be back to posting nonsensical YT videos on various topics. lol

The whole thing is so complex now. You have the traditional weak to strong punches and kicks. and now there is these V-moves, and throws, counter throws. The timing is way more precise because the jumps feel so short. I really didn't enjoy it. I still like games like Smash Bros because of its simplicity in move sets but depth because of it. But I guess just moving two sticks around and mashing shoulder buttons atrophied my gaming muscles from the SNES/Genesis days. I use to have a callus on my thumb from fighting games.

Competitive gaming really sucked the fun out of the fighting genre for me... much like it has the FPS scene.

  22. I've lost a lot of interest in Anime recently with the COVID stuff. With the dubs at a crawl, I haven't consumed anywhere near as much stuff or kept up with it. the Fire Force dub is only on ep 3... and I finally got current with Fruits Basket Season 2 yesterday. (My god the feels are about to explode it seems). I also lost interest in mobile games... just one day I just stopped playing AL and Arknights. They started becoming a chore that I felt I had to play, and in the end it just wasn't enjoyable anymore I guess. I've lost interest in a lot of stuff recently, and regained interest in other areas. I guess its just a part of getting old. I ordered TWD Compendium 4, So I'll be reading that tomorrow to get ahead of the TV show again. Other than that I just really sit around, drink coffee and watch science videos on YT. I guess that's what I'm content with now these days. XD

Funny enough, I knew the Warspite retro item would come up as soon as I stopped which just makes me never want to return to the game again. Having to wait another year for something thats meta and OP for PVP just killed my mood to begin with. I know I shouldn't have taken it that seriously, but making it up to the second highest rank in PVP every few weeks, only to constantly get my ass handed to me by the retro Warspite and Prinz Eugen set up just got on my nerves to no end. Elo Hell every last 3-4 days of the season every time. Zero counter outside of running the same thing and throwing up a prayer.  My set up was non-meta for sure, but I could take down some meta set ups with what I had so long as it wasn't Warspite. Tashkent was such a game changer for me and my fleet... but even then Warspite taking out my backline so easily and Eugen just being there to tank it while Warspite cleaned house was super annoying. I think this is where I lost my enjoyment of the game. The events where great, the RNG was really kind to me. I got everything I wanted from limited build pools... but the grind to get SR Bulins grated on me. Outside of daily login, and the exchange every 3 weeks.. PVP was the fastest way to get those, and winning made it even faster. The stupidest little things can make me quit on the game these days.

With Arknights, it was just the building of characters. I spent more time grinding to max out characters than I did playing the chapters. Events would come up and I'd play the events, and then go back to building up characters. And then one day my auto deploy would have errors and fail missions at random. I didn't like that. My characters were stronger than when I beat it initially.. but now it was failing like once every 5 times or so. I'm sure it had to do with deployment costs changing, and what not, but meh. I think Contingency Contract really fucked with me. I had max meta characters and would still get my ass kicked by these new enemies that couldn't be blocked, but unlike Wraiths, they hit like trucks and could take out your best characters.... only when you had max penalties, but still.

Eh oh well. I don't regret the money I spent, but I don't think mobile games are for me... It becomes an unhealthy addiction after a while. I think Ghost of Tsushima helped my realize I didn't have time to play those games anymore. I kept trying to balance my daily mobile stuff with Ghosts and it wasn't working so I just played Ghosts and forgot about the mobile games.

I was wondering what happened. I got on my PC the other day and I was logged out of every single account I had.

  24. Playing through MW2's campaign again, I forgot how many batshit crazy watershed moments there were. XD  Like MW1 was way more grounded in reality. Both are great but MW2's campaign is like an 80's action movie at times. My heart still raced stealthing through the snow and hijacking the snow mobiles near the start. running through the favela tops, escaping the gulag. Its pretty fun experiencing it all again 10 years later with slightly better visuals. I'm glad it's this month's free game.

MW1 was def the best, but MW2 was just fun, and MW3 was kinda brutal. I hated MW3 with a passion for the MP, but I'd still replay the campaign.

  25. Now that the state of Mississippi has opted into the lottery, I can take a 15 min drive across the state line to a little gas station and buy tickets. Its astonishing how my state just refuses to even let us vote on it. People take their money to FL and GA for lotto tickets, and now the state we share out biggest border has it... on top of that most of the population is on the west side of the state anyways making it even easier. XD So dumb. I'm just glad I don't have to drive an hour plus to get tickets anymore. I can now make a weekly trip and try my luck.

There's only 2 things to do in New Orleans. Eat and Drink. XD Yeah they got a zoo and aquarium... and the WW2 Museum. But the majority of the city is restaurants and bars.
