Dust: An Elysian Tale... I wish they'd make more old school games like this with updated graphics and superior voice acting/story telling.

I haven't tried Dust yet, but from what you're saying, you might like Trine and Trine 2. I don't know how the story is in it, but the graphics for it look good for an old school 2D style game.

You're a warrior with Amnesia and you encounter a mystical blade that speaks. As you go about the game you encounter things about your pass, bosses reveal vague hints about you.. that's all I know for now. The NPCs you encounter and the little side stories that go with them bring a lot to the game and your characters development as he figures out who he is. The game is charming mixing humor, sorrow, and seriousness, along with light hearted moments and some darkness.

Another great thing is, although there is some backtracking for treasures and secret areas when you gain a new ability to access them, there is also a pretty good teleport or fast transit system to get back to an area's "town". That way you can easily complete side quests given to you by NPCs without haveing to trek back through hordes of repawned enemies just to speak to someone to collect your reward.... mighty good for my lack of patience.
