  1. So total gut punch this week. The company I've worked for for almost 17 years of my life is closing the store I work at after filing bankruptcy. The lease is up on our building, and despite being probably the 4th best grossing store in the district, we're all out of a job by next month. And they couldn't have done a shittier job of letting anyone know. They just stopped shipping our dry grocery and perishable orders 2 days before they told us, and blamed it on "transmission errors".

But Luckily I have some solid connections and already lined up a job at Publix, which I feel is the future and should have jumped ship a few years ago. I was too complacent with my tenure and vacation time. But I'm only losing around $1.48 an hour just to throw stock full time and not be a manager. That's how much better they pay. Hopefully I'll be working different hours to where I can play games with everyone again. But for now its peace of mind since I just bought a new car.

Wow that sucks about the job. We had P&C stores all go bankrupt and close here many years ago. Another company called topps bought a chunk of the stores and rebranded them. Now years later that company looks like it's going to go bankrupt. Wal-Mart took alot of their business.

Didn't that company give out bonuses to everyone after that tax bill passed thru Congress? It's like Wal-Mart to. They gave out bonuses to everyone and then a month later announced they were closing an ass load of Sam's club stores.

I'm glad you have another job lined up. Hopefully once bf5 comes out we'll all have something to play together like the old destiny 1 days.

Nah, our bonuses was due to company performance. It threw us all off. While we are a grocer business, were owned by a private equity firm that treats us like an ugly step child. They just threw a billion in debt on us and caused all this. Generally when a grocery chain gets bought out it never works out from what I've seen.

I thought it was pretty much confirmed that BF5 was WWII, could be wrong but I thought I read that somewhere. All I know is a lot of people have been talking about it and a good portion have been complaining wanting it to go back to Modern times.

I would assume if they do go WWII we'll get all the major campaigns as Operations if they stick to using that game mode. I'd seriously love one set during the Battle of the Bulge, fuck I'd be extremely giddy if we got one set on Iwo Jima (god damn that would be punishing and fucking fun). They'd be extremely stupid not to include all of the campaigns because they'd have plenty of content to keep the game alive for longer than two years (and I'd gladly shell money out for them if they decide to go with the Premium pass shit again (doubt it but we'll see), as long as they're done right).

Wal-Mart has pretty much killed most of their competition everywhere they go. If you're not a well know Grocery chain chances are high you'll succumb to the best that is Wal-Mart. Where I live currently you have three choices: Cash Wise (a Minnesota based grocery store owned by Coborn's Inc (where I used to work before I was fired)), Family Fare (didn't even know they existed till they bought out a local chain), and Wal-Mart. It's sad to say but Wal-Mart gets 90% of all business in this town because they're prices are so much lower than the other two (and, based on how things are going, Family Fare will most likely end up shutting down it's other two stores in town because Cash Wise took most of the business they got away from them). I also agree with DX's statement, most grocery chain buyouts end horribly for the company getting bought out.
