Because people are stupid and will throw money at anything that entertains them just a little bit. As much as I hate shit talking streamers like Gothalion, ProfessorBroman, and other Destiny streamers they honestly feel like Destiny is a well made game with awesome content that keeps delivering over and over. They refuse to see where the game fails and why it fails, stating that a developer can't please everyone (like they understand game development which most of them don't, citing on what the developer says. This rubs me the wrong way being someone who has been trained to work in the industry). It also doesn't help that a lot of the people screaming the games praises are pretty much friends of Bungie through one way or another (it's common knowledge Goth, Broman, TeaWrex and a lot of the big Destiny streamers are friends with Bungie and have been flown out there many times for reveals and what not).

Honestly we were once fans of the game so they obviously did something right initially but have failed to continually deliver content to keep us interested (and honestly the game is nothing like we were promised as we've learned). I still continue to praise the Crucible and the Iron Banner event as being the only two things the game did right, being some of the most satisfying multiplayer shooting I've played in a long time (yea Battlefield is great but Bungie actually landed the gameplay for this perfectly, then again these were the people who gave us Halo and we all know how god damn fun and addicting Halo MP was at it's peek). Outside of that the game is shit and people just refuse to see it. The same thing is going to happen when Destiny 2 releases because we all know Bungie has yet to learn from their mistakes with Destiny.

To me Bungie has become like what "Infinity Ward" is now. Too many people have left. The only game that's kept the same tone with different people at the helm is God of War. Not even COD has the balls to ask for money for another map pack on top of the season pass and Destiny had 2 of them. The initial game was funable for what it was. I played it for 30-40 hours at least. But the content packs focus too much on raids and 6 man content more than 3 man to solo content. House of Wolves was probably the only drop I liked.

In the end it has the same flaw The Division ran into. No open world PvE endgame. But even worse is that you got screwed and left behind in PvP. With new content fueling your arsenal, even outside of Iron Banner, core game buyers got left behind fast.
