  1. Finished Linebarrels of Iron. It was an enjoyable Mecha anime. Although I feel the trend of a main character tapping into a incredible power, only to look weak in a fight unless they have an emotionally traumatic moment is getting old. It seems to be the most overused cliche in all of anime.

I hate that. XD Ever since Fairy Tail I can't stand seeing that in other anime anymore. You described almost every single fight in Fairy Tail with this update, just replace "emotionally traumatic" with "My friends / nakama are in danger". XD

It's like Eureka 7 with an ending that isn't shit. The main character shares similar flaws minus the "I don't want to kill anyone". The mecha fights are pretty great but the main character sucks ass until he gets angry or grieved. You're always waiting for his overall skill to improve when calm but it never does. Then if you didn't notice it, the person he is fighting has to point it out to remind you.

Now I'm watching GANTZ and the main trio is scared to kill the aliens they have to or they die themselves. -_-; Can't anyway just beat the shit out of someone without a second thought? At least in DBZ the fights were awesome first before Goku started getting his ass kicked before he rallied for a win. XD
